G'day all, I'm Fate. I'm a 22 year old male pilot from Australia and I've loved Gal Civ since I first found the demo to GC2:DL on a gaming magazine when I was in early high school. I played the absolute crap out of that demo while I hunted around my local shops for a copy until I discovered that the full release was available online from Stardock so I downloaded the old pre-impulse client and continued to play the demo for a few more days until the download had completed!
2AdmiralWillyWilber Shouldn't we, actually, have all ministers unlocked from very beginning by default? It may not be best decision from learning curve point of view, as you said, overwhelming new players.
Thanks for the feedback Admiral, my reasoning for tying the governors to the capitals was two fold. Firstly was to reduce the learning curve as I said, but what I neglected to mention was that

Cross post from the Overview thread, realised here would be more relevant! On the macro vs micromanagement side of the equation I would love to see the ability to assign different worlds to different governors for focusing planets singularly on one type of output. The way that I would do it differently to everyone else is that I would only have the different 'focus's' unlock after the appropriate Capital Improvement has been built. &nbs

What you're doing already sounds pretty close to perfect, keep up the great work Stardock! The Arcean's aren't coming back as a playable race in vanilla GC3? That's a big shock! I know in the lore the Dregin almost completely destroyed them but for such a major race to not exist entirely. Maybe I'm a little upset because they were my favourite race [e digicons]8C[/e] Time to retire my plans of reviving Lord Vega's imperial navy of Shogun, Volithar and Ronin class ships to rule the galaxy. I'm in Perth, Western Australia. If there's any other Gal Civ III elites in my region I'd be more than happy to meet up and have a chat - it'd be a great way to brush up on the old knowledge skills ready for the new game!! It'd be a great feeling to be able to go toe to toe with the AI from day one of the alpha! [e digicons][/e]

This was a planned feature of TA that looked like it was going to be seriously cool but fell through because of the complexities of it. From memory it was shelved with the idea of hopefully implementing it in GC3. I don't want to know if this is true or not, it does sound like a very complex system to build and keep fresh, I'd much rather be surprised by finding it after playing my first game in GC3. I just wanted to put it back in every ones minds! <br

Fair enough mate, as a student I know just how fun tight money situations can be! My rational is that the developer is awesome, the post release support will be awesome and the expansions for GC2 completely changed the game, so the quicker I can get my hands on them the better! I believe that the Elite Founder option ($100) gives you access to all DLC and Expansions as they are released down the track at no additional cost. Regular Founder ($40) does not. I can't imagine anyone that's currently on the forums bought the $40 one, we're all too excited!

I'm more than a lot excited for Gal Civ 3, 2 is one of my favourite games of all time and the forum community was a huge part of that! One of the coolest thing's that the community did every year was post their absolute favourite ship designs from that past year for everyone to see and marvel over, showing off beautiful, cool, funky or just plain massive vessels used across their fleets and games - without any care for the actual combat stats of the things! This cross pollination of i

I personaly wouldn't mind the abillity to lease out my fleets to the AI's for a controlled amount of money, time, and role (Offensive role, Defensive role or Escorte role) decided in the origional agreement. AI's would pay for the maintanince costs of the vessels and a significant penelty if one of your ships were destroyed (say enough to cover half of the real [amount of bc's it costs to build naturaly, not the buy it now cost] construction cost of the vessel for example)

Arcean industry can be a real powerhouse once it gets going, especialy when you lay down that many factories on a planet. Even with 7 Traditional factories it should be doing a 130bc ship (at a guess, is it a constructor?) in well less then that so the only thing that seems likely to me is that your Production Slider (between Taxes and Military) is way down (normal stratergy is to have it at 100% all the time), and try adjusting your Military/Social/Research sliders to be a little bit more Mi

While large ships dominate space warfare, its important not to forget about the smaller craft that provide crucial attacking firepower and speed to an engagement. The Arcean Defense Force Starfighter Command uses two primary fighters on the standing fleets capital ships, the Tachya Interceptor and the Mayko Heavy Fighter. Both boast excelent speed and firepower that outmatch's any starfighter yet encountered in Drengin or Yor fleets (it is rumoured that the T

Well its been a while, but Arceas Heavy Space Industies has delivered several new vessels to the fleet to support the Ronin class Frigates and Shogun class Battleships in their quest to purge the galaxy of all evil. Lord Vega has de-clasified the existance of the brand new Volithar class Heavy Frigate, designed primarily for fleet combat against large capital ship based fleets, which some civilisations are starting to field, rather then again

Thankyou Zoomba, and all of Stardock, Ironclad and Gas Powered Games for the stand that you are making against the big companies on our behalf. On every issue you have always gone above and beyond the call of duty, well past the point that any other company would bail out and simply avoid the issue. You are what all companies should aspire to be, and things like this are the reasons why Stardock has been the only pc game company for pc recieving my money since 2006. Thankyou.</p
Everyone here apparently used ImageShack, but I prefer Photobucket.
hey hey, a fellow photobucket user! Promise I'll get around to some more ships soon, I've just been flat out with exams and work and a messy breakup at the moment. Shouldn't be too long before Lord Vega is commissioning the proudest vessels in the Universe again!
