Evil, can you even truly profiteer on what is a luxury item? Well I did ask if I was right or wrong so pssssf! Just playing! I was merely trying to convey that I think it's both idiotic and wrong... but that's my opinion. 'They' put limits and law

Evil, can you even truly profiteer on what is a luxury item? I mean food, water, gas, shelter fit under the basic needs requirement and I understand the immorality of making an unhealthy amount of profit from them in times of trouble...But no one needs a game system, and if the price isn't fair you can always just not buy one.
Let me second that! New members are always welcome! Looking forward to seeing you around Qestraal! Drengin, It's no surprise you have been working hard on something cool looking. It looks like a good start. It just needs participation. BTW fellow Gal Dips, if you want a spify image like the one below, ask Drengin real nice <a href="http://metaverse.galc
I should add this only started being a problem when the galaxy was about half conquered (~200-250 planets in my possession)
It's broken in DL. It's been fixed in later patches of DA (I think 1.5x3 is the first that has this working)
E-stab, looking forward to you going active on us! Have some fun!
I am, ever so slowly, rolling up my game. I'm on only a huge abundant all map, and it just takes forever to roll up the AI...The problem is two-fold. Slow ships speeds and interface problems. I seem to not be getting ship build notifications on most turns, so I have to troll my planets (400+) looking for any that have ships in orbit to find my new builds. I am also having significant numbers of ships lose their autopilots, so then I get to cycle through every ship with movement points and re

Interesting. I'm using FF 2.0.0.3 and the medals look just fine. Have you tried clearing private data to see if something is cached weird?
It's not just you....I'm pretty sure this is a recent problem. I first noticed it a day or two ago as well.
I get done with work in just over six hours [and to think I'm billing clients while chatting on a game message board... j/k ] At that time I will rerun the test, with multiple planet population tests and post screenshots of my results. Hopefully that will help you get to the bottom of what I'm seeing.
I get what you are saying mumble. And I think the answer is now 100%=100%, but I have to check since this one caught me by surprise and I wasn't watching for it when I crossed the mark. I really became aware of it when I figured out that they had made 100% approval and 80% taxes impossible without significant morale buildings and I started looking for the reason why (the reason being morale resources were no longer providing additional boosts). My current racial bonus is ~176%, I ha
I had to think about this several times, but yes, you are right, it doesn't make sense...But it is true all the same. There is a missing piece. There is certainly a cap, but I no longer have any idea how they are calculating to get to 100%. I do know that when I looked at multiple planets in a DL game the native bonus mouse over shows different native population bonuses depending on the specifics of the planet, the current population and the total global bonus that I possess. This nu
Besides, the board game was more fun because of the pieces IMO. Yes. The little pieces are a big part of the game. Never did have enough of the little white and red chip things for a good battle for Moscow. I always had to add nickels to the game. Didn't everybody? You knew it was getting intense when the dimes hit the table! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smil
Hi! This 100% morale cap in DA ... Is this before or after the global morale bonus is depreciated by the population's base morale? I'm pretty sure it's before. In my game I couldn't increase taxes over 71% without losing approval, even after researching VRCs (+5% to morale) and building VRMs (+12%). BR, Iztok I agree. I looked at comparatively equal planets between DL and DA with around the same native bonus from the bonus scre
On the 100% morale thing. This is easily confirmable as the current cap. If you mouse over the happiness in a planet screen it will tell you what is affecting morale. In DA "native" bonuses max at 100%. This is not true in DL.
Someone else will have to provide the Yor legs. They aren't in my current game. I may have to experiment with how to cook a Korx or a Drath. I'm not to worried, I'll soon have some Drengin slaves to put in the kitchen. There should be plenty for a BBQ. "Torian leather, not just basic leather armor anymore, but a tasty snack too!" - anonymous Thalan leather-jerky salesman at a SCA convention.
I believe everyone here is talking maps where the planet count runs into the hundreds...
?? I'm the Thalans not the Drengin. I thought there might be a good secondary market for the Torian leftovers...If ya know what I mean! When ordering please state your prefered f
I now own ~half of my huge DA galaxy...Finally. This is not going to be a high scoring game, but it was interesting. Just a matter of rolling up the map. Anyone like to buy some surplus green leather?
Sometimes there are issues when you upgrade the game itself and carry over an older saved game....I.E. Always finish and post games before upgrading the game itself. You don't have to finish any games before starting new ones. So you can abandon a metaverse game with no penalties. It's also fine to reload a game as many times as you want, though tradition is to only do so for reason, not just because a battle is turning out badly, etc. <a href="http://metaverse.galci
I didn't even consider the fact that the PQ of conquered planets don't jive with the number of buildable tiles on the planet as part of this same issue. AFAIK I've seen the PQ be far off (as much as 50%) in both directions. I don't think this is totally the fault of the terraformable tiles issues, because AFAIK this also regularly occurs even when I'm not playing neutral and I don't have the Orbital Tile Destroyer. I had always thought that this wa
Keep in mind that the defense techs are a lot cheaper to research, so later game you can rip through a defensive tech tree pretty fast. Also, with the defense bug you are still going to need to pack a reasonably high amount of both offense (you have to have enough to do damage through his defense) and defense (enough to totally or near totally stop his offense), meaning that you are going to need good offensive weapons as well. Early to mid game, your ships will not be big enough to carry both
Yes, please patch it. My last game nearly was killed by this. Most AI's had a huge shield defense against beams while I had a huge attack with mass drivers and I couldn't touch them. I had to turtle and eek out a technology victory before I got wiped out. I had this same problem. Even worse, I had actually captured the on type defense via war and it was relatively useless to me because of the bug. The answer
Interestingly, it's still broken in DL 1.5. Or, at least, the part of the bug that fails to upgrade the PQ of a planet on your own planets when you build the Terra Destroyer. I find it very odd that it works in DA and doesn't in DL.
