All i know is that any AI above hard is a cheating AI. I usually play hard because it is the highest non cheating AI. I dont like to see novalith's being built 5 minutes into a game, or level 10 titans 10 minutes into it.

You can decide not to strip your planets, and keep the bonus income. Plus the income from your cap ships. Which will equal insane income. The only good i see from industrial spec is the buff to ship building. If you don't have shipyards on the industrial worlds., Then it ain't worth it IMO. Doh! I totally forgot about wail!

Then your AI will become lethargic, or not do anything at all, and Ikasumesk is correct. Sometimes you will crash if you are missing a StatCountType. StatCountType is where you must duplicate Vanilla Sins almost exactly. I'll have to go back and look as part of the balanc

Looks like your AI's got bad die rolls (lousy planet bonus's or dead worlds) or something. I played against 3 normal AI's on the Systems of War map. I turtled it out in my own system just to see if the AI would even attack me, and attack they did! At first it was the usual steady trickle of suicide units vs. my fleet, and 5 starbases sitting in the sun, and leveling my titan, and caps. In the late game the 3 AI's allied up against me, because they weren't shooting at each

You can always "Not buy it". There is more "under the hood" of the DLC than what the average gamer sees. From the complaints i've seen it is from people that blindly bought it without looking into it first. However 5 bucks for new planets. Tons of planet bonus's. Balance, Optimizations, and bug fix's. Plus new options opened up for modders. I think it is more than a fair price. You don't honestly expect the dev's to work for free do you?

Yes it does. i had one refinery on a fully industrial spec world, and one on a fully social world. the social world refinery was producing MUCH less than the industrial. The industrial world was producing more than if i just left the world alone. I tested this on the Vasari. I haven't tested it on Tec, or Advent yet.

For those that didn't back up 1.1, and have Trinity. Just play the Diplomacy version until we get this thing updated. We are basically doing trinity, and rebellion simultaneously, and the Rebellion, and Trinity versions are essentially the same mod right now until we stop supporting Trinity. The only difference is rebellions graphics.

This is what i get for missing staff meetings :p There is an option in the game properties to not update the game every time you fire up steam. However to be safe you should keep a backup of previous versions just for situations like this. I lost count of how many backups of original sins i had back in the day when IC was updating every other week, and breaking the mod each and every time..

The social specialization is well worth it on high pop worlds, Plus it offsets the trade debuffs. In the end on Terran worlds you get a better income bonus than what you would if it had just trade ports. You don't need trade ports on those worlds unless you are trying to link them. Refinery's will be totally useless at max social. Like was said. It is better to use the low pop worlds for industrial spec. The opposite of social. Build shipyards, Trade ports, and refinery's for the

All i can do is facepalm in astonishment. There is so much under the hood of this DLC that has improved Sins 100 fold. 5 bucks is definitely worth the price. EA would have charged 30+ bucks then abandoned it. Sins is still being supported. I have much respect for the sheer amount of work put into this game that the average gamer doesn't see.

Hasn't anyone told you?.... Perfection is the Worst Enemy of Good Enough. ;) I have seen a lot of mods that settled for nothing less than "perfection".. Those mods were never released. The Bridge Commander mod Favor the Bold was one of those projects i was involved with that failed, because we all were our own worst enemy's. Trying to make it "perfect". The good that came of it is that a lot of those models are in SoA 2. I made the Excelsior, It's variants, and the Constel

RoleTypes have an influence on the AI's build amounts, and also tells the AI how to use a ship, and in some cases allows it to do special things (like target strikecraft). They are far from irrelevant, imo. [/quote] You are correct. The Role Type tells the AI how the ship behaves in game, and we tried to duplicate th

The role types for the ships are pretty much irrelevant. Sins AI only requires 3 roletypes to expand. A scout. A Colony capital, or frigate, and a siege frigate. The rest can be pretty much anything. However for the AI to function correctly you must have at least one of every StatCountType. This tells the AI how many units are on the map, and how many more it needs to build for its fleet supply. If we left out a statcounttype then the AI would expand very, or not expand at all. So we

Demigod 2 Is that not Sins? I understand thats primarily Ironclad´s game, but i recall Mr. Frogboy saying they did not go for Homeworld IP all the way, as they already have Sins in their "portfolio". So i doubt they would be doing another space RTS to compete with t
