DOH!! LOL I made the same mistake when i imported my 1st model (same error). What Fist0 said. Make sure you freeze all transforms, and when in doubt freeze everything. You will need to freeze the model quite frequently anyway when you do the tangents. make sure NOTHING is selected when you export the .xsi. Otherwise you will get the same error.

The future of gaming is 64 bit. Tablets will be useless in that regard. Which makes the PC a viable platform for some more years to come. TBH i would rather have a big ass gaming rig. With a huge ass monitor (or even a hook up to a 50 inch 1080p lcd tv), and surround sound. Than a tiny screened crappy sounding portable device. I doubt consoles will take over the gaming role of a PC, because there is only so much even the next gen consoles can do, and those games are made specifically

They went more with "coolness" over believability with this one. Yea, yea, I know the target audience is teenagers, but us grumpy old guys like a good trek movie too. I am starting to see some "Killer B" syndrome in JJ Trek too. As in redoing old been there done that stuff over, and over again. I honestly think that hollywood doesn't have an original idea left in their heads.

We already thought of that. The issues for us are finding and/or making a new ship. Ether a frigate, or elite to fill in an empty slot that the move caused. We are very picky about what we use. The feds wouldn't be an issue, because there are still canon ships out there that we have not used. The rest of the factions would be problematic. Not only that we would have to make another shipyard structure, or use an existing vanilla structure till we got a model to replace it. That would set u

As i said before You will need to learn some basics in Modding, Art, and 3d modeling. Stick to your vision, and if people like what you are doing. Then the help will come to you in time.

The buttons on the graphic tell you which version the mod works with. I wouldn't bother with Original Sins, or Entrenchment any more, because they haven't been updated in a long time. Like the lines under them say they exist only as a courtesy for those that don't have trinity, or rebellion. I doubt they will ever get updated again.

There is another mod that is in direct competition with SoA 2. ST: Armada 3. I am not bothered by it. Nor am i losing any sleep over it. In fact i am encouraging these guys to finish their project. I always said if you didn't like what was in (or was not in) SoA 2. Then make your own damn Star Trek mod! There are several Star Wars mods here as well. Along with BSG, and Stargate mods. A little competition never hurts, and i doubt anyone here will be accusing you of stealing

Basically the more objects on the map at any given time (planets, ships, structures, strike craft, trade ships,) equals more lag. So you have to find ways to limit the amount of objects.

I think this is as good as it is gonna get short of re-writing Sins in 64 bit. Which the dev's said repeatedly will not happen. Since Ironclad is busy with Sins of a Dark Age. Stardock seems to be doing all it can do to help the late game lag issue, and support the game. Only suggestion i can say other than what was already said is to play on smaller maps.

Original Sins loaded "everything" in all of its folders because there were no "Manifests" From Entrenchment on that changed somewhat to "only what was on the manifests" though i still saw files loaded that were not on the manifests. Rebellion should not have that problem, because it "should" load only what is on the manifests. When i redo TSOP for 1.5 ill double check to see if any unused textures load. They "shouldn't", but you never know.

I do not mean to sound harsh. However. Unless you show the modding community a "proof of concept". You won't get any volunteers. Most wont volunteer even if you do have a concept. Especially if it is uninteresting to them. Expecting "quota's", and setting time limits to finish modding projects is a very bad idea. Modding is a Hobby for us. Not a full time Job!! Most if not all of us have Real Life Jobs, and Family's to take care of that come first. We do not have

The Big-E (though it looked very small compared to the black knight). Got its ass royally handed to it on a silver platter without firing a single shot (Damn Uberships). Least technobabble didnt save the day this time. Opps, I should have said over 2000 ft. The "Black Knight" is the size of a borg cube! [e digicons]:omg:[/e]

That is the VENERABLE Constitution Class to you Mr! :p And yes it is kind of useless in the mod... Except as a scout. Which was the whole point. Starfleet was short on ships so they brought the old girl out of mothballs. Hey, it worked for the Miranda, and Excelsior. The Romulans took this a step further, and brought back their old D-7's, and BoP's. I took great care to get the ship scales right. We did have to put a cap of 1500 meters on the supersized units to keep the ships

It's freaking BIG. Over 2000 meters according to the official scale charts. Which makes it bigger than the galaxy, and sovereign class's. I find the up-scale of the reboot ship kind of ridiculous too. Still looked tiny compared to the latest "ubership" it is up against. Just saw the movie. Yea it is kinda been there, done that, However it was quite enjoyable. As good as 2009 IMO.
