I'm curious, Mystikmind , as one of the more vocal multiplayer advocates here, how much experience do you have with programming, game design, etc?

Feud is correct, but I'm wondering why spdtristam doesn't have a Terran medal... kind of odd.

I don't know if this would be considered a major change, or even if it's been suggested before, so feel free to ignore. How about linking trade goods to specific races and their unique technology trees. For example, allow only the Korath and Drengin the option of building Tir-Quan Training. Then, at the same time, make the AI place a higher trade value on these goods. This should allow for more interesting diplomacy/trade options. This would, in my opinion, also have the added

I agree with the OP, it is all rather overwhelming. As things stand, I'm having a difficult time providing any useful feedback, other than bug reports, which aren't really the same thing. I wonder if Frogboy might consider providing us with some additional information for the next beta updates. His intentions as far as how each race should ultimately play might be useful, for example.
Home pc is now fixed... hopefully the game I completed will post.

I like this idea.
Hello Can I Join an empire please anyone
Hi otilla2. This empire is intended for older players. If you are over 35 and would like to join, you are very welcome to.
Once I hit 'Save' on my new design, it returns to the main shipyard, but the new ship is not available to build. I have tried small, medium and large to no effect. Hmm, it seems to have something to do with my names. I always use the following convention: Sz W## D## #X where Sz is the size of the hull, W is the type of weapon, D the type of defenses and X the speed. So: Lg B24 PD12 2x is a large craft with two Psionic Beams, some Point Defenses and a few engin
Offtopic
I believe there should be a hyphen in there somewhere, Kryo. Other than that, umm, yeah, kinda But we are having fun. At least I am.
applaude
No more, please! I surrender!
Commenwealth
I hereby revoke your citizenship, FireBender. When you are ready to spell things properly, and with a stiff upper lip, eh wot, I will consider reinstating you.
That's it, then... after Moosetek's disloyal talk, we're taking back the "American" colonies to their rightful place as a backwater of the British Empire. And, as a Canadian, living about 200m from the US border (that's kind of like a half-mile to you Yanks), I shall lead the charge... are you with me, everyone? For honor! For glory! EDIT: Err, honour, rather.
No, it should be dishonourable, actually. Yours truly, Ghostwes Defender of the Queen's English
I think that, as the game's tech trees were expanded (a good thing), the AI did not learn to optimize the use of them (a bad thing). I believe this was the case with DA and colonization techs, sadly. Other than that, the AI is one of the best I've seen in any game of any type, so I'm loathe to complain too loudly. Perhaps, with TA, this will cease to be a concern, since we'll be getting lots of good beta-testing in the next few weeks. I'm very curious to see how the AI's deal with all t
Don't worry, Neilo. I've got your back. Man, what a strange turn this thread has taken... oh well, it was a very good story, at least.
Guys, my home pc seems to be fried. Sad thing is, I had already completed a game for this round (albeit with a mediocre score). Not sure how long it will take me to have this problem resolved...
You clearly said they were stupid to say one game was better because it had multiplayer.
Well, actually, I said -- clearly enough to most people, I hope -- that I think the methodology used was stupid, not the people writing the article. And I stand by that. From that, you somehow got "so because you personally do not find multiplay entertaining, it must be stupid??" It's a strawman argument. By all means argue with me if you disagree with my asse
so because you personally do not find multiplay entertaining, it must be stupid?? I do not think it is stupid at all. Games are judged on their entertainment value, so obviously the judges at the magazine realised the multiplay increased its entertainment value, and rightly so.
Um, what? Did you even read what you were responding to, Mystikmind ? Point of fact: I do find multiplay entertaining... for some games. In fact, some games I couldn't imagine pl
Bioshock doesn't have multiplayer and it's a FPS.
Check out this recent comparison of Halo 3 and BioShock: http://www.gamepro.com/microsoft/xbox360/games/features/139569.shtml BioShock lost only because of its lack of multiplayer -- how stupid is that? If a game is not designed to incorporate multiplayer, why is it being judged on it? It's like comparing a car to an airplane, and the car loses because it can't fly. See? It's not just ridiculous consumers
I would not say that it is like Moulin Rouge , though I did enjoy that film as well. I am not a huge fan of the Beatles, musicals or romantic films, yet somehow this film brought all three together into a coherent whole. I realize it doesn't sound appealing, but I urge you to give it a chance regardless.
I quite enjoyed this film too. Surprisingly, though, it was panned by the critics.
"we burned down the White House"
Yeah, well... we did do that. I see you've built a new one; it's very nice.
