Oh I hate those torians, stupid, green, smartass, aliens! Amen Brother! Flippers or hooves, I care less. They still smell like the inside of a ping pong. The only good Torian is a cooked Torian. They make a great turtle soup! </a

Does the AI actually try to win, or are they just there to annoy you? Depends on what difficulty level your playing on. I mean the AI doesn't really start getting decent until you hit the tough level. (1.4x) Not sure if this has changed as of yet with DA or newer versions of DL. Once you learn how not to beat yourself you should jack up your playing level. Make no mistake about it. The AI at higher levels will hunt you down, kill you and you

If you surround a planet with 8 starbases Not sure this can be done since only 4 starbases are allowed per sector. So why does every ship that travels more than 2parsec/week has to go around starbases, suns, planets,etc.. wasting precious movement points? No idea. Then again, I am not a Quantum Physicist. <a href="http://altmeta

I would lose my deck to the winner The only way I had seen that rule was if we were playing a sealed deck, single elimination tournament. Rules were simple enough. Ante into the tourney with $20 cash. You got 1 sealed deck of the base block or core cards and 2 sealed booster packs of your choice of the block you were playing. Like Urza's Saga. You assembled a deck with the cards you opened, sometimes trading was allowed, sometimes not. Then played.

Ok, I see it now, thanks Mumble. My problem is that on my screen there are a few lines missing from your graph which makes a few of the squares bigger than they are supposed to be. Since this was the case and I did not take them into account, I did see it the last time I looked. I just counted 22 due to the squares themselves. Who said it has to be a planet?<

Ship size and speed are both relevant in the game. Just not in combat. Well, it's in combat that it should be relevant. As stated above by other players, this is a game of overall Empire strategy not ship or ground tactics. Size isn't really relevant anywhere, Size is relevant. The size of your ship determines two very key things in the game itself and does reflect within each a

Figuring out what to do with such a thing is the easy part. Getting the right planet to be exactly where it needs to be is the tricky part. I saw what you were saying Mumble, the only problem is I do not count 24. I count more than 20, but not 24. Am I still missing it? <a href="http://altmeta2.thegalacticcore.com/cha

the 'AI' was fraktarded I have the PC game as well and this was very much the case. I think the AI at one point, in one of my games, just quit. Started buying a bunch of stupid stuff that it really couldn't use. I played for a few months then vowed to never pick it up again. I also played quite a bit on-line but it seemed every time either myself or my opponent would lag and lose connection. It was about worthless. Do

I don't get that industrial capital strategy? The colony rush is over before you get the tech?? It depends witch race you play as. Bingo. Usually by the time I place my industrial capital, if indeed I have decided to go this route, The colony rush is just beginning. <img

I would agree with this point however that does not mean any mental diagnosis is perfect and would provide the appropriate advice on supervision? I agree with you here. these people are all adults and as such cannot be put ahead of children. I do not agree with you here. Is it age that defines us as adults? or is it maturity? Some mentally challenged people have the maturity level of a 6 or 8 year old.

If you look at historical naval combat of the modern age, a destroyer will never engage a battleship alone and win. "Historical" naval combat of the "modern" age? I understand the point you are trying to make but I do not agree with it. A billion dollar battleship can be taken out by an F-14 Tomcat costing around 15 million dollars, using a missile that costs in the neighborhood of $200,000. Using your reasoning, this should not be the case

Kryo said: if you don't have a dual-core CPU, it still just means you'll have to wait a small bit longer after you click the Turn button. Frogboy said: The AI is multithreaded in either case. But the key is that on dual core machines, threads run much better. So it does work with both, just faster on Dual-Core machines. Frogboy also said: If the option is selected

The argument you are using would apply in reality to ship sieze, manouverability and speed. None of this is considered in game so your argument is irrelevant Ship size and speed are both relevant in the game. Just not in combat. A couple things you did forget is the distance between the ships and technology. Hitting a barn a few feet away is pretty easy with a rock, but impossible from 2 kilometers away, unles

and the mental illness excuse just makes me angrier I do not know anything about the case you mentioned so I may be completely out of line here. Just out of curiosity, did the "mentally challenged" man make a statement to the press, police, judge, attorneys, or even his parents or cell mate, saying that he did it because he was "challenged"? Odds are he did not. Odds are everyone else is giving this excuse for him. In my life time I

Your ship can roll a '0' in combat each round which is crap I have to say that I do not agree. The variables that would be involved in space warfare are astronomical. To simply put it, I believe a ship should have the potential to miss its target completely. How better to show this than by allowing the ship a possible roll of 0? I agree that luck does play a part in the game, but not as big a part as some might think. Luck plays a ro

Actually, it was the Arceans That is correct. You see, I could go on and on and say I meant to say Torian just to get some people to read the story, and try to save a little face. However, the fact of the matter is I was wrong! I think I said the Torians because I hate them so much. They always give me the biggest problems in any game I play. <br/

have you ever played an old BBS game called BRE No I sure haven't, as a matter of fact I have never played any text based games in my life. I was a teen when the commodore 64 came out, had a few friends that had them, and I think I actually played the first "Test Drive" on it. I did not get into computers until I was in my late 20's. I started with an 8088 myself. I then built a 486 dx which I thought was so sweet. The last computer I built

is there any way to disable the Advantage roll you described in the game? Not that I am aware of, I honestly do not know. Just curious. What is the problem with clicking the button once for the roll? Is it because of the "Luck" factor? If that is the case, the computer does the same thing during the fleet/ship battles. You just don't see it. Each attack and defense is rolled, bonuses are given to each side, the difference is the damage i

Note that if you look carefully you will find that the common misconception that the most SB's you can get concentrated on any one location is 16 is incorrect. I found this out early in my playing days. 20 Starbases if your planet is almost centered. <img src="http://members.cox.

If you don't mind my asking, how long ago were you in the service? I enlisted in 1991 Just before my 21st birthday, and got out in 1998 after serving a tour in Korea. My father is retired military, I was raised a brat. Been all over the world. I will turn 37 in a few days and I still feel like I am 18 as well. I wonder how may my age are in here playing You would be surprised how many older people play this ga

the reason is becouse the idiots in the fast lane are now trying to get off at the next exit you know the one that is ten feet away I thought that might be the case as well but with further reasoning, logic would dictate that the other two or three lanes would suffer as well and go even slower from all the merging traffic coming from both the left of them and the right of them. I think it is just one of those freak things of nature you know?<br
