There's a setting for background nebula and star density to turn up and down is this it? Ships on minimap? There is an option not to load ship textures, is this it? Minimap is the tiny diamond-shaped thing and ships there are just dots and needed. Battle sequences? You mean full battle? Actually amazingly, this goes real time for me, no slow-downs at all--whereas the cinematics almost always are choppy.

I can't believe he actually got the developer in here to answer this post. The games do need a feel of realism to it. It's not necessarily realistic graphics. I have done programming myself and that is hard work and takes a long time--making a simple justifiable story usually doesn't take as long and it's very important.

What does throttleframe rate do? What are point sprites? I have something like disable/don't load damage graphics (I don't want to load GalCiv2 now to find out exact wording because it'll eat all my system resources and I'd have to reboot). But it's about damage graphics/animation. Is that the same as simple explosions?

I saw the huge negative number that was all fine, but then I saw the red unhappy frowning face and I cracked up. It looks so silly, especially the huge debt. Hey does reloading the previous turn fix it or is your game ruined? And I agree about the political joke.

Oh and eagerly awaiting the patch I keep going to https://www.galciv2.com/Downloads.aspx Well it's broken. Oddly, though the web servers run on Microsoft NET 2.0??? That's the same stuff galactopedia wants me to download (which I don't want to) to use it. Back to the site downloads.aspx, Always it says: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Server Error in '/' Application. Index was outside the boun

I've had this, too. Also once, my money went below 0 and all my current starbases forever the "buy" button was disabled no matter how high my money rose. Eventually, though I found destroying and rebuilding the starbase fixed it.

DreadArchon, didn't the mass driver bombardments destroy your buildings or lower your planet quality? Also didn't you loose lots of population? Moosetek13, the point in my suggestion was that it was made from the dead of their own species. I remember in the movie, they claimed that all land was cleared for farm use (I thought it was like the story "who can replace a man" where they try and try to farm but the land is bad. I know the plankton was dying). Also sometimes on

I haven't been able to start threads for a long time so here's what I've wanted to ask --------------------------------------------- Is there any cheap way to defend colonies, the equivalent of planetary missile base from MOO2 (not moo3 where planetary defenses did nothing)? That is something inexpensive that sits there and only defends a colony. Not a starbase, as those can be bypassed. Something so I don't have to blow every bit of money I have on ships just to keep the AI off my

In MOO2 spying was like crime, eventually you got caught. Sabotague also did so little it didn't matter I played MOO3 with all its spies and they were just really pesky and irritating. More deadly, yes, too. But for GalCiv2, all I ask is for a way to stop them from stealing tech, and if isn't in the game a way to turn this off--even by a mod (although I'd prefer not to have to use a mod).

Frogboy, hi, is there any way you know of in the game to work against the enemy stealing tech (like putting more spying money on them). Also after advanced, does putting more money into spying actually do anything? I've had people say with no money they've still stolen tech. Also, Japan has a high population density, but they are rich. China is making some good strides, too.
