I have the same problem, it was even working earlier today then it updated and I can no longer get online. I did the same thing MrMit did and got the same results.

what about versions of the previous betas that are now posted for download online? Wouldn't they be like a demo? (are they legal?)
Thats the type of effects I was asking about Ron. So is it included in Sins?
but do you get the general idea?
An example of what I am asking about would be at the very end of this clip [link="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw1W4TCSueQ"]WWW Link[/link]
Hey I have never played the game and was wondering if when a ship with a beam laser hits a ship, and kills it does the game render the bean piercing the ship and going through the ship and coming out the other side? Just wondering because those type of effects would be really awesome.
Few ships on the Human side, yeah.. but if you throw in Atlantis you can combine the two into enough. You could have your X-302s and Ancient Jumpers as fighters/bombers, Prometheus class (for lack of a better name, I don't believe they ever named that ship class)
The "Prometheus class" was the X-303 if im not mistaken and the "Daedalus class" was the X-304. And in Atlantis they had the "Orion" which I think was another class, but im not sure. <
That would be a cool addition, being able to target a ship's engines or something so you could disable it and then board it to take it over.
ok thanks for the answer
Im sorry this is kind of unrelated but having never played the game I was wondering is "jumping" instantaneous or is it like going to warp from Star Trek. And if it is like warping are there ways to increase your ships warp speeds? And in either case can you detect incoming ships using faster than light travel before they get into your system, or in the case of instantaneous travel before they left the original system?
It would be really awesome especially if something like that scene from Star Wars happened, where an enemy fighter crashes into the bridge of your capitol ships as your watching form that position.
i was wondering if there are plans for there to be a public beta or demo available prior to the official release for those of us who haven't pre-ordered the game.
I am just bringing it up because I find it really annoying in other games when your units are told to defend an area but have no priority system for choosing what target they attack besides whatever one they see first. Ex: Planes are told to patrol and area and a group of ground units pass through the area the planes ignore the AA units and attack the individual infantry and armor, getting destroyed by the AA.
I have not participated in any of the Betas but I was wondering if Sins does/will have a system to allow the player to prioritize targets for the AI.
