The Thalans are a joke now. Thier super abailty is useless with no factories. What? They have factories. Very expensive factories, but factories nevertheless. Considering how cheap they are to make, I believe their super ability is functioning properly in this regard. The real problem is not noticing the maintenance cost and building too many... not that I did that. Once.
What 40 turns into the game you get to research L1
and frankly, very few people actually want to play gigantic or immense maps on a regular basis, especially during beta testing when we need quick games.
This is the biggest problem. How can you test a game properly on small maps. How can you tell how the game will handle 10's of thousands of ships. In beta you should try to put as much stress on the game as poossible 900 plantes 100k ships. Keep bringing up civilization manger, domestic stat screens and so on. [

It is called common sense. Influence = tourism $$$$. Influence you know the color of your civ. If you play on smaller maps it is easy to hurry up and cover more than half of the map with your influence, since tourism is tied to how much influence you have. It is easy to get a ton of tourism $$$ early in the game. On gigantic or immense it is much harder to got tourism $$$$.
Assuming we all were, what would it matter? The tourney is medium, and it's the only TA game I've been playing since the update. So what? If medium games are broken, that's still not a good thing!
It is not broken small map it is easy to have 50% to 60% of influense on the map. Play on gigantic or immense maps you will still be in a cash crunch. On smaller maps your influence is half of the map so get get the big pop in tourism. On a immense map you dont.
Well, I just had a very interesting game as the Drengin... First of all, some of their improvement ordering is out of whack. The game refuses to upgrade Arenas into Arenas of Pain because it thinks Arenas are higher tech... Also, I somehow ended up with BOTH Entertainment Networks and Arenas (Not because of tech trading; I didn't even have Universal Translator researched).
The bug is when you start the game as the drengin. the newest tab has arena's when you clic

I dont remember when they lost it since all the updates and i gave up playing 4 awhile cause the game kept crashing . Now it is running pretty good but there is some stuff missing. A lot of people dont take time to read the manuel so they never knew it was there. I guess someone forgot to add it look on the cutting room floor for it.

Each update they just ruin the game even more. They just keep tweaking the stuff that made the game fun and great to play. Remember when morale building meant something you could have a pop of 80b and still have 100% happy people. They put the 20,000bc penalty in but the AI's have 80,000bc and more. Morale is a joke cause they set a limit on it. I am playing a game now in DA I have a 42 Class planet with +510% morale on planet, +409% morale civ wide, tax rate at 39%, pop @24.67b and morale is 8
