is there some way to capture screens in-game?
Yep. Use the printscreen key. They end up in "my Games/Elemental/screenshots/"

Mini Dev Journal : In my opinion, you can't really appreciate the advantages of something like Boost.Python until you've done it the long way first. On top of that, when we first started Elemental, we wanted to see what our possibilities were as far as scripting went. So we started looking into Python. I was assigned to get it in the game and doing something... anything. So I started with a script called Music.p
CrazyC, can't reproduce? Savegame coming up...
Perfect! thanks to this gamesave I was able to track down and fix the problem. You're awesome Keith.
We have not yet added code so the game can properly clean up everything and start a new game from within a game. For this same reason, you will also not be able to load a game once you've started one. The solution for now is to restart Elemental if you wish to play another game or load one, once you've already began one.
I have fixed this internally. thanks guys!
I'd love to see a reproducable set of steps for this. Or even a gamesave the next time it happens. I was not able to reproduce it here at the office.
Had elemental running in background after saving game and going to main menu. Attempted to load game and got a crash to the desktop.
Loading a game from within a game, or creating a new game from within a game will definitely give you problems. We know about it, it's been reported. The game simply doesn't have the code yet to clean up everything and start a game (loaded or not) after you've already started one. The solution for now is to restart Elem
Was playing good sovereign, died, "oked" through menus to start a new game, and bang, HUD and nothing else.
With the current build of the game (0.23), the game within a game functionality is not in yet. So you will always see strange behavior in this way. This is also true of loading a game after you've started one, for the same reason. The game simply does not yet have code to cleanup everything and start a new s
There was a bug with the opponents you choose not necessarily being the ones that show up once you get into the game. I have fixed this internally today and you guys should be able to play against the opponents you choose the next time we do an update. I do not have an ETA on when that will be. Thanks for the report though!
In Elemental things are different. Oh, I’m still lazy. Dangerously lazy. But now I have Charles to work with who helps split the work on this stuff.
Sweet, I got an honorable mention. [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
Starting a new game (or loading one for that matter) during the same session as a previously played game is currently bugged. We know about it and are working on it, along with everything else. To play another game, just restart Elemental.
Washington DC is not in the game. The 3 electoral votes DC has are added to Maryland. See here (https://forums.politicalmachine.com/316801)
In the options screen, change Full Screen to NO.

We want you to be able to play our game as much as you do. But facts are facts. A GeForce4 series card does not support DirectX 9.0c, which is a requirement of the game. Please go to "My Documents/My Games/PolMachine2008/". Once there, look for a file called "debug.err". Open this file with notepad. Copy the entire contents of that file and paste it here so I can take a look at it.
If you are referring to an Impulse problem, you should post it in the Impulse section of the site. That way, Impulse devs can look at it. For best results, you should also explain what you were doing, and what went wrong.

hey Beardy, sorry for the delay. CodeCritter had left you that suggestion but he's taken some much needed vacation time. I personally don't see why you would be getting the shader 3.0 error messages but CodeCritter is basically the guy that could look into it further. If you're okay with waiting until he gets back, he may have more suggestions. If you'd rather not wait, you can contact to see about a refund. I don't suppose you have another m

Now that you've updated your drivers and restarted your computer, can you run the game and then repost your debug.err file here? It gets overwritten each time you run the game.
