In truth, even though you bought the game at Walmart, you're actually buying the serial code. It's actually better to buy a game at totalgaming.net than it is in store because that way you can just download using SD central instead of the serial number for updates. What I've noticed is happened recently is somebody came up with a keygen for GalCiv II and for some reason many of my friends who play this game notice that their serial numbers have been used more than 49 times for different machine

What's this crap about the funny tech tree descriptions? It a game! It's not supposed to be serious. The tech tree in an of itself has some serious flaws, It would a while but the tech tree could be modded to fit the downward-flowing version. The problem is the best choice would always be to research to the end of the weapon version and then research down from there. I think the point of having the techs advance through laser 1, 2, 3 and so on is to simulate the natural development and refinemen
The AI sucks at all the difficulties without the CPU-intensive algorithims. Believe me, it'll whoop ass at bright with the full system functioning.
I had that happen once, there is an added advantage if it happens earlier in the game, assuming its in relatively neutral territory, you get a total galactic war going over these new places to colonize. Its a real game-intensifier.
Does anybody know how to do that?
I find the AI reacts to what ever it sees. For example, I play in a galaxy of bright AI and occationally loose the race to build the eyes of the universe. I never am able to sneak up on their bases or fleets without having my ships be intercepted. I'm pretty sure the AI gets to actually use the senor bonuses you give them. I agree with Mistralok, It's better to put points towards something more useful. If you're worried about sensors focus on getting the Eyes of the Universe wonder and
Another big problem with your strategy is that you wast your time conquering the Yor with the bulk of the ships. If you knew that the Dread Lords were coming, you should have focused on attacking them with this fleet you're using to take the yor.
Good is awsome. On a large map with bright AI (ten mind you) I can win in less than 150 turns without diplomatic victory. With Diplomacy on, I can win in 100 turns tops. That's why you pick good, the unstoppable cohilition of the five or six races that want to be your ally. Not to mention if you mod the game to include additional techs and stuff for all alignments, you can really make it balanced. I hate playing as neutral because you don't get any ship parts, and a morale bonus doesn't
Yeah, its like you just contracted out from another company, and they have a deadline to meet, of 1 week, which is not much time considering it takes you say 11 weeks to make a battleship.
Yeah, try BF 2142. I got it and the hole system is totally srewed up. Not only to you only get to play with less than half the items they have when you start out, you can only get these special items through online servers run by, guess who, EA. The game has no single player really, and it comes with tons of free bugs for you to play with. EA needs to get a clue, listen to the 5 million complaints from your users on the forums.
