i lived in thailand too long to believe in bad kharma, but i definitely believe in the "halo effect's" alteration of perceptions. 10,000 attaboys and the average person sees you sporting a golden halo. one aaashiiit and your halo turns a nice toasty brown.

we used to read programs into the General Automation minnies with a high speed paper tape reader, and ran the tapes into a large plastic trash can as they loaded. Then used a handmade movie rewinder to collect the paper tape back into a roll. re CP/M: if you were good with 8080 assembly language, you could quickly piece together a program that would do anything. ah, memories! ( you can keep my memories and that crappy old high speed tape reader too!) <img src="http://image

Someone should have sued the car makers out of existence to save the Buggy whip industry iben - when the carmakers opened operations, they didn't go around and steal all the horses in the state to drum up more business. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/i

re fuel cells and batteries - fuel cells may indeed hurt the bottom line of battery purveyors someday - particularly if the fuel cell purveyors steal the fuel to put in the fuel cells, and then distribute them for free. new technologies have always opened the way for larceny in forms that have never been possible before. and the theft is usually "legal" at first due to a lack of applicable law

bkb also had mentally blocked out Wild Wild West. he now gives it its rightful place alongside gymkata, firewalker, ishtar, and howard the duck. As for the Disney cartoons. I find it horrible the way Disney takes a story and completely rewrites the story. - paxx paxx you've always spoken out against censorship. if disney wants to turn a

what i want to know is: during all those decades when we went to the store and bought records, later tapes, and later CDs, why were there no crowds marching in the streets shouting " What a crock of sh! I am entitled to all this for free and i'm being robbed by having to pay for it!!" and when the jerk at the beach snuck in and stole our tape collection out of our car while we were distracted, why did we get so mad at him?? i mean after all, he's entitled to tunes for free too, right? <br

einstein wasn't perfect. the model he proposed for the molecular structure of metallic solids in his earlier days was ludicrous - it only took 4 minutes for 3 of us 2nd year physics students to shoot it to pieces. high intelligence cannot protect us from the occasional upwelling of gross stupidity. sign at the gas station in my neighborhood: "SMART, CAPABLE HELP BADLY NEEDED. INTELIGINT ONLY NEED APPLY" <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a

i lost 20 points of IQ in 1982 while bicycling. ( drunk driver ran me down and i took the blow with my head primarily). i can still beat most people at Chess and Go, so i'm happy the damage was limited. people have occasionally come around me bemoaning their DUI citations from the "mean" policemen - NOT A GOOD IDEA AT ALL!! >
