try reapplying the skin you're using, or apply the windows classic or default theme and then re-apply steve's osx skin, I've seen this happen with other skins including my own before (if it's the same problem we're talking - we can never be sure ) - for some reason, sometimes a skin gets applied properly and sometimes it doesn't load fully. Also can you confirm that other skins do this or if it's ju

Maybe look for a software solution, softphone (software phone) where you can dial from the user's pc to the main office. Have you tried skype, I haven't myself but apparently it's very popular and free what I've heard - you would just need mic's & speakers for the pc's at your whse location, they already have a decent network connection as per your description. Install the client software on each of those whse pc's, they should be able to dial local numbers with minimal cost. - Just an

Z71, I hope you've been reading all of this so far, it would sound as if you have a bit of skinning community in your corner asking you to hang in there....

an idea of mine (I'm sure it's quite original) would be that the really old skins could possibly be placed into a section of their own, I made the mistake of downloading & installing a wb that was quite a few years old and in hindsight I should have guessed that it wouldn't have worked in a winxp environment, after applying the skin it caused by system quite a bit of grief & errors and it took me a while to get my system functional again so that I could apply a current skin. Maybe somehow label

I don't think I could imagine the wincustomize site without that logo? Geez....What would you replace it with? .... maybe a windows vista globe logo (waiting for I.R.Brainiac to give me a beating for is lame joke considering he has lot's of love for all things "VEEESTA")

Andrew, please don't throw in the towel. Explanations will always be questioned, you can't stop that. Don't mean to hijack this thread but I've seen all of the problems mentioned above plus I have my own issue to add to this great melting pot... My comments are always doubled. If I post a comment on someone's skin page, it gets doubled. At first I thought it was my pc but I have tried this on home machines, at work and also on a friend's pc that I have never used before.

z71, I've read the responses thus far and it would be evident that we don't want you to leave the forums. I agree with what seldomseen said above, just take a break. You're a great wb skinner, one of the best for sure and it's seems that losing your participation in the forums wouldn't be a good thing. I look forward to reading what an experienced skinner has to say on various topics. Human nature dictates that there will be times when people will not understand each other, disagree with each

the ubuntu distro can be downloaded in various forms, the one you should download & check out is the livecd version which doesn't involve installing anything on your computer. You download the iso, burn it to cd, boot your pc off the cd and ubuntu runs directly off your cdrom without have to erase your hd and installing the os. This allows you to testdrive ubuntu and find out if it will work with your pc hardware or not. As far as what I've heard, ubuntu is one of the easier linux dis

Just a question: Is it possible to add text captions that appear next to the titlebar button during mouseover? I have added some generic looking action buttons to my windowframes in a windowblind skin that I'm working on and was wondering if it's possible to add a text caption that appears during a mouseover event. The buttons by themselves are not descriptive and it would be cool to have some sort of text that appears indicating what the button's function is. Similar to hold

uninstall windowsblinds - if necessary reinstall alienguise (i'm assuming you're referring to the stand alone alienware themes which use alienware theme manager and don't require windowblinds to run ) - if this isn't the case more details would be appreciated, thank you

I've been thinking about getting a Motorola Q, I'm a noob when it comes to smartphones/pda's, etc. Since you own one, can you tell me if you can sync up your mail from your pc with it. (ex. outlook 2003 on my desktop), does it have a mail client similar to Outlook?

nerdyguru, if you're running windows xp and windowblinds is only skinning a portion of your windows environment, try checking the following: - right click on My Computer, click on Properties - click on the Advanced page tab - click on the Settings button in the performance section of that page - click on Adjust for Best Appearance and verify that every setting is selected, especially the very last setting that is labeled "Use Visual Styles on Windows & Buttons" - Click o

I'm using rainlendar lite myself and have gotten the time feature to work, at first the time didn't show up but that was just a mistake on my part, needed to tweak the x & y coord's until the time displayed in the correct place on my rainy skin. I must be using an older version of rainlendar, my apps shows version 0.22.1 Also once you get the time working on your rainy skins, if you want you can also add the seconds to your time display as well by adding the seconds switch

which logonxp is giving you problems? include a link to the problem one and I'll see if I can download & test it out at my end to see if I can reproduce the problem - if anything, at least we can alert a moderator to the problem logon and have them remove it so that no one else downloads a logonxp that doesn't work. Usually a problem with logonxp occurs when you attempt to edit certain logonxp that weren't created with logonstudio and you end up with errors similar to the one y

Congrats Po, that is awesome stuff!!! Skinhit, you are just too funny, that pic above was hilarious - made my day. Po, that comment of yours above: Like you could ever quit me. Sounds like Brokeback Mountain 2: The Revenge! You guys are comedians, I read some of the funniest stuff in these forums!

the last few comments reminded me of a hooty/blowfish tune where one of the lines went ... "HOLD MY HAND!" .... rippppp!!! - sick & funny, both at the same time! Couldn't resist!

Bandit, I love your answers... and you gave the questions way too much thought! ... and yes, my little kids have confirmed that those songs do indeed sound the same. Actually another discovery, my daughter can recite the alphabet in english & french (she's in kindergarten french immersion, lot's of homework in the class - seriously; it's like I'm going to school all over again) and s

Yup, I don't think I would invest any more money into a Symantec Antivirus, Antispyware or Internet Security suites. I've used both Symantec's home version of antivirus software (Norton AV) plus I've used their enterprise software (Symantec Antivirus Server & Client) and have never been impressed with the level of protection they provide considering the performance hit a pc experiences during the use of those products. I've personally seen computers using Norton Internet Security that are over

I agree, just close your windows explorer & internet explorer sessions (leaving them open will retain the toolbar icons from the previous wb that you've applied) and then re-open them. This happens to me all the time and it's a simple fix, close the windows where you want the toolbar icon updates to show up and open them up again and that usually fixes it 99% of the time for me. Also, check windowblinds config, you may inadvertantly have set the toolbar icons to remain with a certain s

On top of that they say that George (the brave dog in the story) had a heart problem. I say if he had a heart problem, it was that he had a big heart that made him so brave in the face of such overwhelming odds - poor dog deserved better than what he rec'd! The story didn't mention anything about the owner of those pitbull's, he should definitely be brought up on charges of some sort. What if George wasn't there to save the day, what would have happened to those 5 little children?
