i wonder if this will hurt sins sales...
Apples and Oranges. There's little to suggest it'll have an impact on any sales for Sins, or any game for that matter, given how little it's been hyped recently, and how long ago the marketing machine started. As for the release
Not overclockers in particular, but I've been a frequent reader/poster at [link="http://futuremark.yougamers.com/forum/index.php"]Futuremark.com[/link] and occasionally read up on other forums, such as [link="http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/index.php?s=ee0c7a546515db54864ffbd49b8b30db&"]Extremesystems.org[/link] I don't dabble much with Overclocking these days.
I always got my desktop until then. My desktop isn't that great. It's an AMD 64 3000+ 2GB of DDR RAM 7600GTS /w 256MB of RAM I built this machine a few years ago, but its been running my games pretty well. And as far as the higher end Games like Crysis, I always have my 360 for those since they always tend to port them to that.
I run with an AMD FX-55, 2 GB ram, and a 7800GTX and Sins runs with playable FPS
I know some members have already made their own special abilities namely pithlith but the thing im wondering is how easy is it to mod the AI to understand how and when to autocast the ability. Forexample some abilities on autocast should activate if there are many allied ships in the area , and some abilities on autocast should activate if the ship is under attack etc...
While I'm no expert, track record for other games shows that AI in general is horrendously ex
ROFL. You guys are going nuts, both positively and negatively, over a render . This render qualifies as "concept art" and not the final, or even beta, appearance of teh game, races, or even ships. It's too slick to be a real-time render. Take a second and look for all the little graphic quirks that should be present, even in a limited sense, in a real-time game--they aren't there. I repeat, all images are either CONCEPT ART or very alpha-level work
G'day, I know the guide is a tad outdated, I'll see if i can allocate some time too it in the coming days. Work has sucked my will dry over the past month and half so haven't had much time to maintain this and keep taps on changes with Beta 4.
ahem... i believe I was the one calling them PLANET SUCKERS =p anyways, I think the Advent will be the race we get to try, the Vasari and all they uber cool unit goodness will be held back till the full game release.
Meh, no more stinky humans. Bring on the aliens.
Played beta for a while, might pick it up at release and play a bit on EU. Despite it's linearity and traditional quest / plot write ups, it might be good for a laugh for a casual game.
Probably a line break.
Sorry guys, we just couldn't resist the promise of being able to make Madden 3000 - StarShip Football!! NO!... Make Bloodbowl! (warhammer football) Offtopic, the company that developed Chaos League and Chaos League: Sudden Death, got in to an "arrangement*" with GamesWorkshop and are now developing Blood Bowl. <a h

Demo is out and about, surprised it hasn't been posted. It runs surprisingly well on older hardware. I was thinking it would be nice to, at least as an option, to set Waypoints to the groups rather then the individual ships within the group or "fleet". Newly constructed ships would then move to the nearest ship in the fleet the WP points to, or it could if possible fly to the "main body". ie. the area that has the highest amount of ships in said fleet.
New version uploaded.
So it's FUBAR'ed since the update? I didn't have this issue prior to the last two Beta 3 updates. Nope. It's random since we were able to make custom .galaxy files. But it wasn't random prior to the last two beta 3 updates? That or I just got lucky and never experienced it.
The guide has been updated for the latest updates, plus I reworded a couple things. Lemme know if anything needs changing.

hmmm, could the devs make a #ICO or something like that so there isnt a bunch of spam in #sins? other than that, that's what i always try to do There's no reason to spread it out over several places when the sins channel doesn't get that much traffic as it is. That is when you aren't spamming up the channel. Plus it makes it easier to discuss bugs and issues in the game or with ICO.
As I was rewriting my hourglass galaxy as I wasn't satisfied with it, and to bring it up to date to the latest version, I came across something very peculiar. Every time I start a game, the teams are set randomly. I could be teamed with either of the AI's above the Star, or next to me on the same side of the star. Now I've looked over the galaxy file several times and I can't spot the issue. Has anyone come across anything similar?
And to Novaburst, Yes I understand the point of them allowing the Beta only to the people who Pre-Ordered, I just want more info on how the gameplay is. Atleast like a video that describes it because screenshots only show the fighting and the Gameplay link doesn't help me much for what I'm looking for... Sorry about giving you a hard time by the way, many years of internetting (new word) has left me jaded. Es
Anyway, here's three of the most recent Previews/Hands on articles available. Gamespy IGN Gamespot And besides that, the Multianna has several short in-game captured clips from the various beta stages. <a href="https:
Are you using version 0.83[B].029?
A demo at this point wouldn't make sense. Members of the human race are in general not rationnally thinking beings, even more so when it comes to the internet. So when they see what is obvious to the beta testers, and that is a constantly evolving, slightly bugged, slightly unbalanced game, that's missing 2/3 of the races and several other things, they'd instantly, without thought, draw the red card and open the floodgates for little else then a whine fest. "ZOMG dis game
I'm disappointed that everyone goes for the Kol as their first ship, seems to be a trend forming. And I'm also disappointed in the semi-cobalt spam, at least early and mid game. They dominate far more then any other ship as long as they are in a swarm. I guess I had hoped for a bit more from, IC devs that has had the multiplayer for considerably longer then the players. Though hats off to Blair nonetheless for his performance.
