- Sova carrier uses Embargo while it's in plasma storms. Duh? It should only use Embargo on auto-cast if it's in a grav well under enemy control, IMO. - AI has an near impossible chance of spreading it's empire across planets if it starts next to Ice/Volcanic planets, it a) can't figure out how to manage it's research stations such to reach the required techs or scuttle older stations in favor of say more Civic stations, even if it has a minimal amount of planets. And second it can't fi

Three times has sins hardlocked on me in a 2v2 with the AI's. I've had to hit reset, as I couldn't even terminate sins through CTRL + ALT + DEL. I turned on the logging for the third time I loaded it and got this report prior to the crash. Firingsquad Performance is similar with both OS', when disregarding SLI and Crossfire setups. Well within the margin of error in most cases, and largely insignificant in others.
My reaction: WTF?! Aren't capitols immune to culture? Why would/should they be? It's akin to having the sufficient % of culture in the galaxy in Galactic Civilization 2, where the rest of the alien races adopts your culture because it's the most dominant one, and thus viewed as the "best". It's a strategy just as conquest is. And serves as another factor to defend against.
A check box or something to get it back, I was wondering what happened to it as well and do miss it. I'll gladly admit that I miss clicked occasionally for no reason, but I lived with it.
Driver Version 7.15.11.6222 PoorManDSO, try the http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_163.69.html driver. See if it makes a difference. Remember to uninstall the previous driver first. Seems that sometimes when typing a in-game chat message, the game interprets the typing as pressing hotkeys. Doesn't happen all the time, though. I got the same problem during the second online game I played.
I am not a huge fan myself of artificial aids like no rush time limits, or double resources or quick start ups, as I feel it detracts a great deal from the strategy. On a personal note, "rushing" was what singlehandedly killed all incentive to ever play RTS games online for me, and why I stick to LAN play entirely. I have never been able to see what possible enjoyment could come out from finishing a game after 5 minutes
Somewhat of an older issue, the Akkan doesn't benefit from a higher rank Ion Cannon ability, or the colonize ability. Are they going to change? Either shorter Recast Timers or Reduced Antimatter costs, or entirely different effects?
While it might be great for singleplayer, isn't that a tad too out of place for Multiplayer games? The point being that, there should be some elements that requires the players attention, beyond telling ships where to go. If you're losing you shouldn't have a "Get out of Jail" free card for your ships. Either retreat manually or not at all, in my opinion. Yeah auto retreat is a must imho , saves my butt a lot in COH.
I have another bug: KRYO LOST TO EET! But I beat kosc, so that makes it better Personally I've had some annoying issues with zooming so far (probably related to the varying heights of planets). Even in zoom-to-center-screen mode, th
Clearly the AI wanting to travel without Phase Space is a bug that doesn't want to be quashed. Please send your save game that shows this behavior to Ironclad so they can try and track down why (zip or rar it to support@ironcladgames.
Interesting to watch how both of you use the Kol.
Wow its just like A Never Ending Story: (Picture) Thats what happened when I tried to load a game last night. I reloaded and the nothing was still there and I thought "ARGREREREAREAR!" and then everything poped up so its ok. I have another bug: KRYO LOST TO EET! Could it be related to the zoom functions? Did you try and click on a planet in the Empire window?
i made it readable... yeah, you did. he post you skipped over... Eh, more like spent 3 seconds on before deciding that if I can't get past the first sentence, its not worth the time. OK, I skipped over it. And its not like you labeled it as a quote! Trade and Refinery ships should be reduced in priority for combat ship
I'm pretty sure they already can? I'm pretty positive I've seen 'em firing off-plane. Yeah, they can. I'm guessing that Nova seriously misunderstood the point. I replied to the following. Wrong. As was said above, you can easily avoid gauss cannons by flying over them or under them, making them useless against a human player.</div
Trade and Refinery ships should be reduced in priority for combat ships to the point that they come after any opposing ships and structures. There's little point in blowing them out of the sky while there is still an enemy presence in the gravity well in the form of ships or structures. Even Firefox has built in grammar correction now a days. That's like the ultimate tool above and beyond all else. <br/
Wrong. As was said above, you can easily avoid gauss cannons by flying over them or under them, making them useless against a human player. This sounds more like the Gauss turrets should be able to rotate it's turrets, as opposed to being fixed to fire along the X/Y axis only. As for 3D movement, and wanting fleets to fly over other fleets, I can't see how that accomplishes anything of value. The opposing ships would simply lift their front
Pausing in MP would kill the pace anyway. I can't forsee people wanting to play beyond 3-4 hour session games. Least that's what my magical eight ball says.
It's from July 26th so really old news, but I didn't see it posted anywhere so figured it might be news to some other people as well. It's an interesting insight in to the history of Stardock, plus it mentions a possible release date for their fantasy 4x game. 2009 seems like a distant future though, with public beta in 2008. The mere mention of a MoM like game, in combination with the talent of Stardock, makes me long for 2009 to come around already. Someone hook me up wi

Just a heads up, there's a stickied thread in the General section of the forums for Technical feedback, ie. bugs. In case you missed it. People tend to post there regarding issues such as the Last Flagship Standing. Sins Beta 2 - Technical Feedback Thread Link
Jperzio, would you please restate your comment more clearly? In fact, might I recommend that you type your posts out in word, or some other processor, and spell / grammar check them before you post them? You're very hard to read, and I usually just end up skipping your posts. Spellcheck.net is a tool I used a lot my self some years back. That and google
A phase jump inhibitor would fix that in a heart beat. As of the latest patch the Phase Jump Inhibitor only blocks travel to other planets under your control. So the AI would still have been able to jump back in the above scenario. Unless it came from one of your other controlled planets. In other words, the PJI doesn't do much for borderline fighting at the edge of controlled space.
