Guys this is an easy fix - Go to your My Docs/My Games/GalCiv2 folder and open whichever race config file you need (ex. Terran Alliance.raceconfig) Look for the line that says 0,0,0 This is XML - 0,0,0 is an RGB color (Red, Green, Blue). 0 is nothing and 255 is all so 0,0,0 = black; 255,0,0 = red; 0,255,0 = green; 255,255,255 = white; etc, etc.. Change this number to something higher up than 0 and it'll fix your
Well, it appears I made a noob choice here. When I was selecting my race appearence settings I put everything to black, not knowing what interface was referring to.. there should be something for noobs like me where the buttons still show up no matter which color is selected. I feel dumb - sorry haha.
Ok so I installed this game last week and played it once, but got stuck on my first event - there are 3 alignment icons, and I assumed they were clickable, but nothing happened when I clicked them, and I couldn't get out of the screen. Today I watched all the tutorials and noticed that there are blue backgrounds on all the buttons in the game (ex. Build Ship) but not when I play..it's just the white text.
