The Icon(s) found on the opening MV player selection screen are "Achievements" that you have earned. So that is saying that you have "Achieved" at least Cakewalk difficulty. Since Cakewalk is the lowest level, it is always available/present until you "Achieve" a higher one. After you submit a game to the MV, you should end up having a new military rank added to your screen also (Ensign) For more on Metaverse medals, go to this post: [l

what version are using (y'know on the title screen, it will say in the bottom corner something like Dark Avatar 1.80g) There *was* a fleet bug that appeared in one version (I believe it was 1.72e) but it was corrected in the latest patch.
@Nights Edge: In response to you taking issue to my "true conservative" comment. You have to understand that American political ideology is in many ways opposite of European; a 'Conservative' in Europe would be a 'Liberal' here. Also, at least in American political thought, the whole Right/Left argument stemmed originally from the thought of 1) Why? do we need government 2) What? is its purpose and 3) How? should it operate. The earliest American political partie
In Twilight a screenshot function was incorporated so that when you hit ctrl+prt scr, the current display would be saved to the Screenshots folder in the My Games/Twilight section. However, i've noticed in the last few games I've played that only the most recent photo taken before one quits the game is saved (that is one screenshot per session). I didn't think this was how it worked, but I suppose I could be wrong. Admitte
thanks Kryo for the response. At Neilo and other MV players- let's make sure that we have an organized list and secondly, not a "wish list"; let's be bluntly honest- the MV isn't going to see any big updates, so don't aim for that, but at least we can make sure the functionality is there, that the medals work, and that cheaters get caught (ie Spacetimer)
actually Seth, that IS something that I believe was looked at by Cari (a SD developer/MV guru); she had added some checks to later be able to allow some mods but I don't think it really went anywhere or got implemented. This was all awhile ago, and I wasn't really privy to the discussion on it. But I thought that the goal was to allow for some major mods to be MV-friendly (in particular Kryo's Hull Mod and LogicSequence's Graphics Mod- mods that add to the game without gi
lol thanks Seeker. I don't know if I'd say I'm the "brains" but I'd like to think I'm one of the most rational and sane :-)
Kzinti should be Crimson (blood red) hulls with medium orange trim Tyranny should be Nearly Black hulls with bright red trim Olympians should be White Hulls with Gold Trim Diplomats should be Gray Hull with Blue Trim Hegemonians should be Red-Purple Hull, with similar trim
Altarians, Drath, Torians, and Iconians have "Good-Aligned" tech trees, with the Altarians and Drath getting special techs if they go "Good" Terrans, Arceans, Thalans have "Neutral-Aligned" tech trees but really can go down any ethical route. Yor, Drengin, Korath, and Korx have "Evil-Aligned" tech trees. However, the Korx are actually a bit 'stronger' if you align them with Neutral instead of evil.
Well, I believe that Seth is going for a MV-compatible mod. That being the case: The Kzinti would IMO Evil, Drengin Tech Tree, Super Breeder Weapons +20 (2pts) Morale +20 (3pts) Mil Prod +50 (4pts) Soldiering +30 (3pts) Courage +25 (1pt) Loyalty +20 (2pts) That uses all 15 ability points. War Party obviously. This actually makes the Kzinti quite the force to be reckoned with. The Super Breeder
its ok Seth, the Olympian Gods only have 15 members. Of which, I think only about 4-5 are actually active. You have to remember you actually kinda came to the game "late", the players have pretty much been established over the last two years, there hasn't been a huge increase in MV players. The Tyranny is mostly former HCH members, while the Kzinti is remaining HCH, Orca, some Diplos, and just random players. When I started the OG back in January, I sent out tons
Just my thoughts: Kzinti Empire: Super Breeder Evil-Aligned The Kzinti Empire is a proud, warrior race but they also have a high fertility rate not usually seen amongst warmongering species. While this also is seen in high death rates in battle, they are quick to replace their numbers. The Kzinti have strong military production and soldiering bonuses. They also maintain a strong morale due to a cultural
@Seilore: Check to make sure that you have Relations set to Unknown in the Select Opponents Screen. Sometimes (though rarely), the game will randomly set relations; especially if you ever use Ctrl-N I've had races go for Ascenion every game so far. Remember there is a big diplo hit, and the AI takes that seriously to. The AI goes for what it thinks will give it a win, whatever that may be. I'll have to pay more attention to the e
@LedZerggelin: I went and double-checked the folder itself after I hit the Delete button, and the custom race was most definitely gone.
FROM IN GAME: On the Race Creation Screen: Click the LOAD button Select Race that you want to delete Hit the DELETE button that is along the bottom (next to Save, Load, and Cancel) Warning will come up saying "Are you sure you wish to delete this race?" Click YES Voila. and In game too. So no more complaining. Trust me, I just tried it with my "Stupid People" custom race, and it worked. Amazing.
@CanOpener: this is an issue that's been plaguing us for awhile, its not unique to 1.99rc. I always wait until my Turn button turns green before I go into the Planet Details screen and whatnot, just to insure that the game doesn't keep moving onto the next action (the reason this happens is because your ships/events/builds occur inbetween turns but you get the updates during your turn. )
nope not all Buddhi83; but you DID get hit with the Plague. Research the cure and all will be right in the galaxy. Even better the AI got affected by te same disease. Sieze the oppurtunity my friend :-)
very cool Brad! I have some thoughts for you :-) 1.) maybe a percentage growth per week (or month) in existence with a cap? ie...Route Creation: Route from Earth to Drengia will net between 10BC and 25BC depending on how far along the freighter is in its route. After one month in existence; gains 10% in value. Two months- another 5%. Growth for one year, then hard cap. This makes trade routes more valuable without making them overpowered. 2.) I go
@Extant Faora: Twilight of the Arnor is in RETAIL format; 1.96 is that last OFFICIAL Twilight version. However, some users, myself included, are currently Beta-Testing the 2.0 Version. Of which the changes went, for this test at least, all to the TA version- thus making it TA 1.99c. The Beta is only available to those that have purchased TA and through the use of the Impulse. It is not available through SDC. Sometime next month, unless further Beta testing is deemed nece
not to harp on this guys, but I say this every time this matter comes up, we DO NOT KNOW what the lats 4 achievement medals represent, we have never known, we have never been told, we have ASSUMED based on precedence. Is it a good assumption?-yes; but that does not make it so. We can not definitively say one way or another if those medals are broken or not.
the thing is though, if you drop back down to 4th place, the "Former 1st Place" will return. The Top Three medals always have precedence over the Former Medals, I really hope there's a MP format for GCIII, I would absolutely LOVE to go up against you KP; I don't hate their not being MP format now; and to a point I'm glad its not in it, but it would be pretty cool to play against a number of people on here. It be interesting though, some really strong players
ya gotta love the Krynn really. Best race to use, and IMO, the hardest race to compete against when they are on your bad side. Oh and to answer the original question: generally, Super Breeder; though I'm currently using Super Warrior for my custom race. To me, the only stipulation with Super Warrior is that you give yourself the Luck and Courage abilities
@Motti: Its too bad that Hive and Super Spy don't actually work like Brad stated there; Unlimited Range would relaly make a difference (there IS a bonus, its about 10% extra range) and Spy Invulnerability (Loup would LOVE this I'm sure, spies really COULD be offensive, since you wouldn't need to worry about others stacking them on you)
well see I am wondering if its for another victory-type? Like 100 Alliance Wins or something. Because almost no one would find that. Because, for all intents and purposes, the medals do seem to show up somewhere at least (ie the Purple Heart that shows up on the actual profile) but that thought seems flawed in that the current medals don't really seem to distinguish between battle type anyhow. Kryo had tried asking around back in
hmmm, whereas I've been able to out-colonize everyone except the Krynn, Torians, and Terrans, even on the highest levels. I do think the AI seems to be performing better, overall, in the latest beta. I do know that in TA it is the first time where I've actually really had to fiddle with the Production Sliders throughout the game; overall, I tend to stick with a 1/49/50 but I've had it to switch it to 99% social, or 99% research depending on my needs at the moment.
