what version are using? lol, if the MCC is actually flipping planets for you, I think you are the FIRST person I've ever come across
My argument for using score as compared to submission time in tie breakers: One of the goals of the MVL is to promote players to play outside their comfort zone, to improve their game, and to provide an environment where they can learn from others around them. Earlier submission times do not adequately reflect any of these traits though we have used them to counter game "vultures" that wait to see what needs to be beat. By using score as a tie breaker we encourage players to try for b
THERE WILL NOT BE ANY RULE CHANGES IMPLEMENTED FOR THIS ROUND!
i'm still VERY against promoting a Submission Rush. I may be amendable to using Score as a tiebreaker; and then if score and time were tied using submission time.
My worry then with using MV submission time, especially now that we have the early submission bonus, it is going to become a rush to get games in as fast as possible; which hurts players that have RL, since the only scoring factors that would not be affected would be Base Points and game score (and even then, in the unlikely event tho possible, of ties, submission time would be looked at) While there were a lot of ties, it was a lot easier to go with the unbroken system; and use the tie
yes, after discussing it with Neilo and reviewing the Rulebook, we have come to the conclusion that games of the incorrect type are not used for averaging. They are only used for Base Points, if needed. If others wish that this be changed we can discuss it after results have been finalized for this round.
In any case the MVL Rulebook is clear on how to proceed at the current time. Myself and Neilo have already come to this conclusion and our score tallies reflect all current rules and standards put into place for the MVL. If, after this round, individuals wish to discuss possible rule changes may I suggest the MVL Rulebook thread where we can reference the current rules that are standing.
A valid substitute game of the correct victory type is good for any of the possible bonus points
CORRECTION; AS STATED IN THE MVL RULEBOOK Team Bonus Points All team bonus points are based on the average of the team’s submitted games. Just as in the individual bonus point case only wins of the correct type are counted. The 1st place team receives 2 points and the 2nd place team receives 1 point in the following categories. However, there are possible situations where a team could theoretically receive 1 Base Point from a vict
Unfortunately, this results in a Rule Change and thus if we are going to use it this round I need a ruling from Neilo at the very least. Also, it wouldn't be advisable for a team to purposefully submit a win of the wrong type for a round since the possible gain in bonus pts would be negated by the loss of the 2 base pts
Mumlbefratz, the only thing with not averaging them in is that then the game has no value whatsoever, since it would not be counted for any type of scoring purpose. I am personally somewhat torn, I agree in the spirit of what you are saying, but I also don't want any player to feel like they wasted their time.
OK, I can't submit official results yet (sorry guys!) since I still haven't received confirmation from Neilo and FireBender. That being said, for those of you that may be compiling scores on your own (I'm looking at you Kzinti ;p ) here are some matters of interest to take into account. All verified submitted games are averaged for team score; even if the submitted game is not a win of the correct type. This goes for score, game time, and submission time. Mumblefratz touch
We actually have had this happen in this round, and once the scores are considered official we will highlight that point.
We are currently in the process of tallying the scores for this round; results should be available sometime tomorrow. Great job everyone!
ok with Motti out, i must submit this dismal POS as the backup game Team E Character: Boilermaker Defeat Years 3 Score 1025 DL 1.5 v1.5 12/1/2007 12:00:54 AM

I am already doing that currently for him
Thank you for responding quickly. Yes, ideally, Motti will submit a game in time and that will be the one that is counted; I just wanted to have a fail-safe in place.
As a clarification to the above post for those that may be unaware. Due to a complete lack of communication and contact with a player, that last visited these forums before the beginning of Round 4, the Vice-Commissioner and Rule Keeper have stated that Team E is now considered a 4 man team.
PlayJeff is correct, if you had a game that fit the criteria for this round but had for some legitimate reason thought you wouldn't be able to make the deadline, with your permission, I would be able to submit a game on your behalf. If, as it sounds, you have RL issues and also do not have a game that you will be able to submit, then normally the Commissioner is able to choose a random player from said team to play a back up game. In this case, since Neilo is on said team, I doubt it is best f
First and foremost, PLAY YOUR GAME -and have fun If, by writing this dissertation, you feel that this will give the MVL-AltMeta its needed working foundation, then that is your choice and I commend you. I will say to others that if Mumblefratz does decide to go ahead and do this that unless you have a very specific point that you wish to bring up and ALSO have very specific reasonings and explanations behind it, I humbly
