Is there a theme that looks like the official Windows 8 theme? The Win8 theme that came with WindowBlinds has many flaws and looks more like Windows 7.
There will be soon. I am working on a theme that should mimic the windows 8 GUI as closely as possible: https://forums.wincustomize.com/457777

I have picked up on the fact that there are some people that would like a skin that mimics the windows 8 GUI for use on windows 7. I've decided to take up the "challenge" since I'm currently not working on anything else. Here is the first draft after a couple of hrs work: I plan on doing 2 versions. One as shown and one darker with white fonts and titlebar glyph
'Sintrone' is coming soon as well... hopefully, when the Borg returns to his hive...
That skin is on hold as I'm having issues with the pin stripes lining up properly on the startmenu on windows 7 (take a look at Syd's screeny and you'll see it) I'm not at "it can't be done" more like "I'll have to redesign it to make it work".......
A German goes into a restaurant in London and orders a steak. After an hour of waiting, it still hasn't arrived. So, the German decides to ask the waiter: "When will I become a steak?" Says the waiter: "I hope never!" (Just to explain the joke: the German word "bekommen" means "to get". It's a classic case of "false friends".)
I work on a ferry that traffics Oslo, Norway/Kiel, Germany. I have been as

For me skinning is pretty much over if SD does not give me 100% skinning in windows8. Any skin looks like ass with unskinned/default areas (remember Vista with the info panel branding you couldn't get rid of?). Windows 7 is pretty much perfect (like xp before) in that there are not MANY areas which you cannot customize. Off topic, sorry. Great tut, DT!

I submitted a ticket regarding this issue (linking to this post also to save time as I have outlined the issue here with pictures) and followed the instructions provided by support (download a thingy to gather info about my computer) then heard nothing for 5 days. I went back to work (I work out at sea and am without internet for longish periods of time) and meanwhile my ticket was closed after not replying within 72 hrs. Too bad that I'm expected to wait for 5 days before
Have any of you sent a support ticket in about the issue at hand? I'll pass it along that it's not working as intended. Also, the forums are free to use.
Read reply #34 - #47 Everyone has just imagined that it hasn't always been this way.

The box forcing a subscribe is still checked.
Correct. It WAS fixed, however after I wrote this in 2013. I bumped the thread as a reminder.

Apparently this problem has come back again. I have been told that it was never "fixed" permanently , so I must have been imagining the last year and a half........time to check myself into the loony bin along with a whole lot of other people that have the same disillusion as me. /me remembers to uncheck the box this time so he isn't auto subscribed to this thread.......
No I ain't. Remember...I'm here effectively 24/7 365 ....so what I see is what you get....particularly evident when the number of actual logins I do in a year probably doesn't make it to double figures. YOU may see it differently....because you may actually leave the site...I don't. So what I say I see is exactly that....what I see.
Ok. Whatever. So never frak
2 thirds ..... if you managed to get it fixed it lasted around 5 minutes or so....and happily went back to 'normal'...
Sorry, you are wrong. It was (as indicated in the thread I linked to) changed to un-checked by default. It's only recently gone back to checked by default. And we'd like it fixed. Please.

Sorry, I would volunteer had it not been for the fact that I build skin to change the fugly Windows GUI not to emulate it. The idea for me, goes against the reasons that I skin. Please no offense to the OP, Just stating my reasons for not wanting to do it.
Installed latest WB on Windows 8.1, in ODM it shows version 8.06 installed, yet when I do an About Windowblinds in the program itself, it still says version 8.05 is installed. CRAZY!
Same here. Installed the update and still showing the same version I had before.
