well spoken, granted TBS have their own merit, but RTS surpasses it on multiple levels.
Schod
you didnt say tactics, you said strategy and as for an example? HW2. you're fully entitled to disagree yup, exactly why I didnt say "no, your completely fucking wrong"
So far no real time game was successfull at creating enough time for it to be a strategy I disagree although I do believe the biggest inhibitor of strategy in games currently is lack of scope and differentiation horray for supreme commander!!!
the new .hack// game is pretty good(its anime, I know, stfu)
RTS games like C&C, Starcraft or Supreme Commander don't allow me the time I need to make decisions I prefer real time, because you dont have the time to think through those basic tactics on the battlefield.
um... we haven't gotten the chance to try out a RT4X yet... come back later, like... in a year.
yeah, agreed.
...Is their only going to be three civilizations? I love the idea, and most of the consepts seem well done, but my biggest consine is the three civilizations part... frankly... I dont remember a space-age game where there are more than 3 or 4... apparantly it works the way it is
well, I think that will officially debunk any problems for noobs including us
can you imagine a 2 kilometre long behemoth, being struck from all sides, smoke and plasma fizzing from ruptures in the hull, and then just going >pop actually... I'd Imagine that unless you have huge AM stores, yes, at best there would be a small pop, and that would be your shield generator SDing but SCREW INTUITION!!! I WANT EXPLOSION
which allowed the commands player made to be stored as in, I can see what my opponent is exactly clicking? SWEET ... unless you mean, I can see what I've been clicking only... thats redundant
well... aside from losing your whole treasury and being completely incapable of repelling any sort of invasion, the excess ships might glow up.
stardock or Ironclad must be playing with us otherwise I'd have to say TOO DAMN WEIRD !!!
that would be cool. wouldnt name mine alcari though
There would have to be some kind of penatly for having more active than you can support. Maybe units firepower and health is degraded, or reasearch slows, or some combination of things to prevent that. its a realized economic soft cap aka, if you go over you start to lose money.
tsk tsk, I said "sound" not "were" and... that has to be fabricated, because 1337 is too 1337 a number to be random...
research doesnt make much sense considering it is done at seperate R&D sights... although a bust to universal allegiance makes some sense...
I can just see a uber 1337 player stepping in on a n00bs behalf, that would be really funny...
lots of when questions=euphomism for "this is taking too long, I'm getting pissed off"
of course not !!!
if you see lots of shiny things going all over your screen, or some black debris shooting everywhere, thats a particle explosion.
ah space, the infinite storage system of course, if that were an option (which it isnt, I'm pretty sure, although it would be a cool one) then you should get nominal support from computer automated guns. actually, that would be a pretty sweet tech upgrade
since that creates expectations that people will then be sore over if they don't happen sometimes those expectations aren't bad things... especially if it motivates the Devs. of course, our Devs have been practically reading our minds on every topic so far (the way they predict us is downright creepy...)
The final explosion graphics aren't in the game yet, just some temp placeholder art ah god!! THE SHIPS GOING DOWN THE SHIPS GOING... *shrrr*shrr*shrr* *pink two-headed chickens fly all over the screen*
or... just put them in non-upkeep intensive orbit and ship the crew away?
