So this means the whole sling shotting your ships around a planet to catch up with another fleet is gone? If so, that's too bad, because that actually adds tactical value to the game when you can use gravity like that. That is definitely a feature that should have the option to use or not. Even though I realize the CPU power required, it would definately add the "T" to your 4XRTS. This part hasn't been cut though it isn't functional in beta 1 for unr

Thx paradox. This has already been addressed by both sides of the arguement in this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=148616#1178006. We really do listen to what everyone has to say and take detailed notes on suggestion and complaints but it gets very difficult when topics and arguements get repeated and information is split over multiple locations. I can assure

Good points overall. Most will be addressed in later betas as the primary focus in beta 1 is on technical issues. the greatest issue i have is the inability for the player to follow his ship's movement by having a camera that allows him/her to lock onto the selected ship/group of ships and follow them in battle. A new camera system to solve this problem was introduced in patch #2. Perhaps you are still using the original beta? If you are <

Good points overall. A couple of them are so good we actually already have them in the game already 1. Make the alert messages select or focus on the thing they're about. That is, clicking on a 'ship completed' one would select the ship, on a 'fleet under attack' message on said fleet, and so forth. So far in this game I've already built two dreadnoughts and forgotten

The problem is that you can guess accurately where certain planets are and bee-line straight for them. If everyone behaves the same way then those who are randomly placed away from the predicted position of the Terran planets will always fall behind. This happened over and over again in our multiplayer testing. Aside from that we agree with you. Good ideas are good ideas and are independant of the source. Already, we've demonstrated time and again that we listen, discuss and actually

Sorry about that guys. Here is the fix. Download String.zip from www.ironcladgames.com/sins/String.zip and replace the String folder in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire. Blair

4. It would be cool if when your ships are in battle, you could have a cinematic camera option (if you can afford the time!!!) Where you see ships duking it out like the automated ship battles in galciv 2. This reminds me of something not everyone might know. You can use ctrl-bandbox to focus on things. This is handy for grabbing a single fighter and zooming on him as he ducks and dodges in the midst of a large battle. This is effectively what I do to

Warning: do not do this if your version works fine - only if you are getting the failed to initialize problem after patching. This appears to be related to the sound bugs some of you are encountering. As a workaround, please renamethe file "fmod.dll" in your sins directory (likely C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire) to "oldfmod.dll". Then download a new fmod.dll from www.ironcladgames.com/sins/fmod.dll &
