Agreed. Will do

So this means the whole sling shotting your ships around a planet to catch up with another fleet is gone? If so, that's too bad, because that actually adds tactical value to the game when you can use gravity like that. That is definitely a feature that should have the option to use or not. Even though I realize the CPU power required, it would definately add the "T" to your 4XRTS. This part hasn't been cut though it isn't functional in beta 1 for unr
Sounds like you got lucky on your start position We have some work to do on that
Thx paradox. This has already been addressed by both sides of the arguement in this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=148616#1178006. We really do listen to what everyone has to say and take detailed notes on suggestion and complaints but it gets very difficult when topics and arguements get repeated and information is split over multiple locations. I can assure
Good points overall. Most will be addressed in later betas as the primary focus in beta 1 is on technical issues. the greatest issue i have is the inability for the player to follow his ship's movement by having a camera that allows him/her to lock onto the selected ship/group of ships and follow them in battle. A new camera system to solve this problem was introduced in patch #2. Perhaps you are still using the original beta? If you are <
Sorry about the crashes. The game should send the minidump automatically if you click yes, otherwise plz send to [email protected] . We have another patch coming out for Easter with a variety of goodies and some fixes. Hopefully it will fix your problem.
You are right they should be We'll fix have to fix that.
Good points overall. A couple of them are so good we actually already have them in the game already 1. Make the alert messages select or focus on the thing they're about. That is, clicking on a 'ship completed' one would select the ship, on a 'fleet under attack' message on said fleet, and so forth. So far in this game I've already built two dreadnoughts and forgotten
Thanks for the pictures and the bug report. We have had one other report of this and we are trying to reproduce it internally so we can fix it
The problem is that you can guess accurately where certain planets are and bee-line straight for them. If everyone behaves the same way then those who are randomly placed away from the predicted position of the Terran planets will always fall behind. This happened over and over again in our multiplayer testing. Aside from that we agree with you. Good ideas are good ideas and are independant of the source. Already, we've demonstrated time and again that we listen, discuss and actually
Thx for the info guys. That is a new one. We'll track it down asap.
Victory points were removed prior to beta. They may or may not be returning. Culture is not fully implemented. Mauraders are not yet implemented at all
Glad to hear it runs on your machine, its stable and you are having fun. Welcome aboard Sins! We'll work all those AI quibbles in time.
That is very possible, thx for the suggestion
We are looking into this, hopefully we will have a fix soon.
Thanks so much guys. Comments like these go a long way
Thx guys! I'm going home early because of it so don't expect any patches or comments tonight
It will be possible to rename planets and ships. The orange button above the portrait will do this (among other things) in the future.
No problem. It was a common enough request to warrant immediate change.
Sorry about that guys. Here is the fix. Download String.zip from www.ironcladgames.com/sins/String.zip and replace the String folder in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire. Blair
I would like a vocal warning ("We lost a Frigate Sir!" or something like that) when you loose a ship, maybe not fighters and bombers. There should be one and there should also be one if an ally loses something important. Must be bugged. Noted.
4. It would be cool if when your ships are in battle, you could have a cinematic camera option (if you can afford the time!!!) Where you see ships duking it out like the automated ship battles in galciv 2. This reminds me of something not everyone might know. You can use ctrl-bandbox to focus on things. This is handy for grabbing a single fighter and zooming on him as he ducks and dodges in the midst of a large battle. This is effectively what I do to
If you were getting the "failed to initialize" crash after patching, a possible solution is here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=148841

Warning: do not do this if your version works fine - only if you are getting the failed to initialize problem after patching. This appears to be related to the sound bugs some of you are encountering. As a workaround, please renamethe file "fmod.dll" in your sins directory (likely C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire) to "oldfmod.dll". Then download a new fmod.dll from www.ironcladgames.com/sins/fmod.dll &
