not even in how they look?? Would that take too much memory? Can you give me some reasons? Hi Stanley, thx so much for the comments and ideas. We've limited customizing ships in-game to just choosing abilities for the capitalships because its a bit too cumbersome for a real-time game. However, it will be very easy to modify the appeareance of your race's icon, ships, weapons, planets, shields or anything in the game if

Sound (combat fx) is sporadic and choppy. It abruptly starts and stops, and will cut out at a certain distance from the camera. I'd be happy to provide a more detailed analysis later. I only had a short time to test. There definately appears to be a serious bug affecting some people's sound quality and sounds getting cut out during combat. We're narrowing it down <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 align
The internal font names are in Unicode, i.e. 16 bit characters. So it would read ".S.i.n.s.A.g.e.n.c.y.B.o.l.d", with the dots representing 00hex characters. If you are not familiar with hex editors you could also use a font editor, but all freeware programs for Windows have vanished. There is also a somewhat tedious solution that should work with a normal editor. SoaSE has a folder called "Font" in its program directory. There you can find about 30 fi
I love the passion and the well thought out arguments however I really want to avoid getting into a full debate and detailed analysis of gameplay issues such as this since the focus on beta 1 is more technical. However, I do have a few comments that might help. First, I can understand a lot of the points against Phase Lanes and I would probably make many of the same arguments if I was only presented with what beta 1 has to offer. The complete picture is not available to you
hmm never mind was my fault guess I added it to the group later and it was on some grouped not all grouped same icon this should be changed. Agreed
We have received hundreds of minidumps in the last few days and that's how we've been able to track down a large majority of the crashes within a couple days. If you "send it to the programmers that can fix it", they are sent to Ironclad's database where we have automated routines to analyze and organize the particular crashes. Alternatively, you can send them to the address Kyro mentionned above, which will indirectly mean they end up in the Ironclad database. Beta1 patch1 was releas
Select all the ships you want to jump then right click the move button to activate "Group Phase Jumping" until it says "ALL GROUPED". You should see three green arrows.
In the final game (or the next beta) will there be a section on the GUI that informs you of what you are researching, its progress and the order of what is in the queue? Yep, its coming Ben Sones had a really great way to do it in the gameplay thread. We will likely be combining that with a few other suggestions including some of yours.
Glad to hear it! Have fu .. err un-fun!
For sure, spread the word wherever you like! Just remember we can't be everywhere on the net so if you want to give feedback, its best to deliver it here so we are sure to see it
Hi Jimmy, sorry about your problems and I'll admit I'm don't know much about the authentication process but I'll try and help you out regardless until someone more knowledgable drops by The first thing I would try is creating the following the directory and placing the sig.bin file in it. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\License</P
Wow guys! There are so many great ideas and valid concerns we can't possibly address them all right now, especially when we have to focus on technical issues at the moment. Please don't feel we are ignoring you if one of us doesn't respond to them. We are reading everything diligently and creating a massive suggestion list and assigning priorities to everything. Your comments will all get the attention they deserve. I still think its valid to point out that many of the requests are pi
You can attach to a single fighter using the ctrl-bandbox feature. Its typically how I move the camera around. This is advanced and wasn't mentionned in the current basic tutorials
You can adjust almost any color in the game to a color better suited to your eyes by opening the Sins of a Solar Empire/Window/Colors.color file which can be edited with notepad like most Sins data files (for ease of modding). The names of the colors should all be self explanatory but the color format might not be. Let's look at an example: attackRangeColor 40ff5b00 This is a red color of the gun enplacement range rings in hexidecimal format. Simply copy
LMAO!!! The Sins team loved this thread
Trade ships can get into a condition where they trade with their own tradeport, giving you functionally unlimited credit flow . I think this happens when you have a trade alliance with someone who has no trade ports.. or maybe after canceling a trade alliance. I haven't managed to narrow it down yet. When canceling a structure order, it should always take the last one in the queue, or at least one that's not being built. Rshift should work just as we
I can't speak for the OP, but I don't see any lights on either the Repair Station or Broadcast Center. Now, for what I really wanted to post about: Can you make the messages clickable? I keep seeing things like "TDN Whatsit has reached level 4," but if I want to perform some action on/with TDN Whatsit I have to search high and low to find it. Hit the space bar to jump to any message but we are looking at ways to improve this access.
Almost guaranteed.
Thanks guys Everyone on the team really appreciates all the feedback. Keep having un-fun testing!
Just the guts testing (Though I heard a rumor that it is very easy to mod the in-game cap on solar systems. Perhaps the more inquisitive among you can track it down P.S I was shocked to see what the guys in the Sins irc channel have managed to mod already. 300 fighter squadrons? Ko
Overwhelming support for this one means it will be tested out shortly and likely included in a future beta.
In beta 1 they are distributed to help instigate action early. Thus, when there are only 4 players, they will all be in the same system. If you increase the number of players they will spread out into the other systems. More placement algorithms and choices will be available in future iterations of the beta.
Operation Preparation H is a go!!! We'll track it down as soon as possible but in the meantime be sure to wear your shades when playing
I'd like gravity wells to be somewhat larger, and would also like it if ships couldn't warp right through them (I like the word warp ) I actually watched a colony frigate go to the edge of a gravity well, go into warp, then fly right through the gravity well's planet on its way to the neighboring planet. There has been ove
Wait until we get all the wreckage and debris in as well, that should up the death quality level a notch or two
