DANMAN, you said you can have a max of 3 weapon types in your original post, but is there a limit of how many weapons you can have on a unit (say I wanted 20 beams for example)? Sorry for not reading whole thread, but only just recently decided to some modding :)

I've been keeping an eye on this project since it's announcement, and with the screenshots you've showed so far, sounds like it's a something I can use (when it's released). Because I absolutly suck at designing in 3ds/xsi :) Keep up the good Work Helioforge! :D

Please fix in 1.1 patch (not specific to the beta patch): - When in window mode, and change focus (i.e. goto another window) and then change back to the game, the game starts to scroll and the highlight box appears (it's as if i wanted to select units or something). here's a pic of what I mean:
If you have a save and/or replay send them in to [email protected] (replay would probably be more helpful in helping the devs find how it came to have negative resources).
Thanks, I'll see if I still have it, I'll send it off I do still have it..
Actually, in one game in v1.04, I was able to build units even though I was in negatives creds/resources territory. My postulation was because the game was getting so large that it had some kind of lag co
Is it fesable to say pirates are running a huge amount of multiplyer servers and therefore piracy is a possilbity of the low sales?I don't think so myself but maybe, still such a result proves to me that the 'piracy' storys talked about by Crytek and the like are just covering themsevles for investors ("no don't worry mr shareholder, we are investing in DRM to combat the piracy!").
Is it feasible to even think that?
I believe there is some Desync/connection issues with the beta patch.Erm, if there are then nobody's posting about it. There was one unconfirmed desync post so far, and that's about it.
I did say some and oh, maybe because it's a beta too.

I would like to request to add a feature to 1.1 patch: Please add Custom Fleet Template Formation Profiles. This would allow players to lay out their fleet so when they goto another planet to attack, they have fleet already assembled. And concentrate more on the battle itself.
"I am not ready for a client based patching service like Impulse or Steam."I can't help but get the image of someone from the 80's refusing to give up thier washed out jeans and boom box. The future is passing you by, the idea of stand alone patches as a common, nessesary thing for PC games has been around for what - 10 years? Before those games I dind't even think about patching a game.Did you really think it wouldn't change?

Did you really think it wouldn't chang
They've already stated you can install Impulse, update your game, and then uninstall Impulse.
Whats the point though, if you are doing that and not using the application other than to update the game, wouldn't it be better to provide the standalone patches? I do not see the fuss!!
Now, on what should be the developpers used their time: patching/updating the game with new features or doing QA to ensure that a stand alone patch (with size increasing) will co
All our games are going to be updated and supported via Impulse. Those who have a problem with it I can only say that while I wish they'd reconsider, I would sooner quit making PC games than to be monkeying around with stand alone patches ever again. And to be perfectly honest, I would sooner do without customers who are pains in the asses on petty crap like this.
I think the reason why you are getting the crap is because of how you told us. #1 When sins was bei
Which old version? Standalone patchs were made to patch the retail version 1.0 to the latest version. Impulse allows you get only the files that need to be changed.
Isn't that pointless though? Considering that, SINS doesn't get updated quick enough anyway, the whole "individual file updates" sounds great, but i don't think it will work.

I still don't believe that having an extra application installed, when i'm not gonna be using it all the time, and that games like SINS don't get updated enough. If you compare it with Steam and/or GPGNet (Gas Powered Games multiplayer platform), it outdoes your Central/Impulse by a mile. So you guys really need to work with your customers on this, because having being forced to not be able to update without "Impulse" installed is very rude. The fact that you also have

The reason it's up for discussion, is because of Stardock decision to do so. So who can you blame but Stardock? This beta update will be available only through Stardock's new Impulse platform sometime in mid-July. We will no longer be providing standalone patches for future versions of the game. Not our fault if the company has decided to change it's attitude towards Piracy, I also paid for the game, no need to punish legit us users by restricting where we
Guys, could we stick to discussing the actual Sins update and not how it will be distributed? All updates going forware are going to be on Impulse. There won't be stand-alone patches. If that is a problem, you have the option of not downloading the patches. It's not really open to discussion. Debating it is completely academic. The only reason why Sins had stand-alone patches at all was because we originally had targeted Impulse for release in March but we got delayed worki

Further to ZJBDragon post, Stardock Central/Impulse isn't big enough yet for it's customers to accept this kind of treatment. If Central/Impulse had enough popular games as well as it's own games(I will use Steam as a example), not just SINS, there might be enough customers who are willing to put up with that. But as of now, It's too early for Central/Impulse to do that.
It makes a huge difference. Its not possible for SD / IC to lock down the standalone patches -- hence they kept on ending up on third-party sites, "like it or not!" -- which made them incompatible with the security measures the game used: CD key needed to patch, ergo pirates can't patch.
The whole point of having them on third party sites is: #1 Save stardock money on bandwidth. #2 If 1 location is full or slow download, you have multiple sites. <br/
