Actually, I just thought of something, is there any way getting the standalone patches through Impulse? Thus solving everyone's problems ?No but there's a way of patching your game then archiving the whole thing for use on other (read: offline) computers
I was to refering to something like GPGNet does with Supreme Commander?\ it downloads the patch from their servers and launches the setup. But it keeps the patch in it's install directory.

Can't believe the amount of disagreement. All of a sudden we were all happy with standalone patches, and stardock central being seperate, now with Impulse.... Why can't we have our standalone patches, does it make it any difference? Yes I'm gonna blame Stardock for this. How often do we get updates for the game? How often will the game get micro-patched? I purchased the damn game, do you want to see my paypal reciept ? Now you are all labeling us

I just think Stardock could have done a "transition" effect (i.e. offer both), while improving the "Impulse" platform, they can continue standalone patches, eventually removing the standalone patch support. Rather than just coming out of the blue and say no more updates for you if you don't have our program installed. I do believe that introducing "Impulse" abit early, especially for a big patch like sins 1.1.

Haree78, I don't mind the way they use to do it (via the signing in and putting in your key to get the updates), i do not see how "Impulse" will make it better? - other than restricting the customer of where he/she gets their updates.... So no more file mirrors...

Peace Phoenix - the protection is essentially made by giving to legitimate users updates with lots of contents (and not only bug fixes) based on user feedback I have always found that going to https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/update/ - was good enough - and the bonus of not having "impulse" installed. We are gamers, we don't need 50000 different application from publishers that will slow our PC's down.

LOL. I can't believe there are ppl are accepting this. CommanderAdama, who's been the the drama queen, you guys or us? Seriously, we are now required to have an extra application called "Impulse" that is required to be installed to get further updates. So even if we bought the game RETAIL (either from stardock or a store), we are still required to have the application "Impulse" installed to get any "further" updates, passed 1.1 update... So, just to g
Any chance of a Stats Editor?I.E. To make things easier to change like health, cost etc?Cheers. This is already easy enough. I'd rather have IC working on real issues like tool updates and patches than making it even easier for people to open up a file in notepad and change two values.
Not just for the ease, just less make it less confusing to work with (have to search for the what you looking for before you can change the values). It's been done with other games

For us (my friends and I who play on LAN), It's usually a few hours. It's kinda like the problem we had with SupCom :P (lucky for us it got fixed eventually)
I didn't create this topic but as far as I can tell it is for quick and easy balance fixes, not a "what whould be cool in the next patch" topic.I think we all agree that a quick (hey, why hasn't it been done already?) balance change is needed. Adjusting the values in the data files like innociv suggested should take the devs like ... an hour max. Please hurry All the other stuff can then be looked at later, it't not nearly as important as the quick and easy fixes to un-screw the balance.[

- Multiplayer is still bugged, (after a number of hours) if the game doesn't lock up totally, players game wil lock up and be forced to drop out to be replaced by the AI. (it's also seems that if one player is dropped out, all players drop out) - If playes get dropped, and replaced by an AI, the server should be able to choose the difficultly of each AI. - Resource gathering is still slow (after playing this game with 6 players at a LAN, I agree) - even on the new settings

- What ever was listed in 1.03 thread (the major thread) that wasn't included in 1.03 and: - Have a new option where players can set the amount of resources they start off with and resource rate x whatever (like in SupCom, having a 2x mod makes the game much better). - Custom start positions. - I think capitol ships need abit of tweaking, can't put my finger on it though... - AI needs tweaking, seems to take over planets more quickly than I can. <

email: [email protected] (I think) System specs, Attach Dxdiag report and minidumps.. OS details, etc etc Is probably best thing to do since it's most likely a game problem. we had lockup's in 1.02 in MP (after playing for a while), but haven't tried 1.03 yet.

lol @ the OP, how lame.... At least the dvd itself is not missing, then you have something to be pissed about wouldn't you? Act civil, contact Stardock. Stardock isn't a fraud company, I live in Australia and i got my CE Edition.
