The freezing up is most likely your firewall popping up in the background. When this happens press CTRL+Shift+Tab and move your screen out of the way and press allow on your firewall :)

Are you playing on fastest speed settings on a reasonably small map? Unless there is major turtling this should only take 1.5 hrs or so if everyone knows the game sufficiently.

Kryo sounds right. This is a standard issue. If you are unable to find the windowed mode option, I have an easy shortcut for you. Press CTRL+Shift+Tab. Move your window out of the way and look for that nasty little firewall pop up and confirm that everything ok. You might get a few of these, depending on your program. After that just CTRL+Shift+Tab yourself back into the game and join us on ICO!

Piracy is holding the industry back from reaching its full potential, but PC gaming is certainly not dying. Developers are not so much concerned about the theives that have been shoplifting their whole lives - they don't respect the system, and likely never will. We are very concerned about the large number of people on the fence that could go one way or the other.
