What I do and I am in no way saying this is the best way to go about it is simply crank tech to 100% straight away and get faster engines. After I have faster engines I design a faster colony ship that does about 4-6parasecs a turn (I take everything off the craft execpt for the engines). Then I colonize like crazy. I grab as many planets as I can and build starports on them and then build MORE colony ships. Then colonise more. Naturually soon I go into massive deficie

I hate having about 50 planets... The level of micromanagement (I don't know how to use the governers) is INSANE. One turn takes almost half an hour. By the way, if you want more luck then select the luck racial ability. I always use the universilists and luck addon so I have an increase of 50% luck. In the game luck is a major factor. ~ Michael

Free updates isn't the issue, it's the disadvantage it gives to those who have no internet access. You miss the point, I think. What good do the updates do to those who don't have access? Do you consider this? What about someone who bought the game, had infinite problems, and with no internet access would therefore have no idea what is going on. What, contact customer serv

Evil S can indeed be strident at times (who of us can't), but if you beat him about the head and shoulders enough it turns out he can be a decent bloke. I disapprove of beating him into a decent bloke... Isn't there a patch for that somewhere? *teasing grin*. ~ Michael

You'll never believe this... The Torians used (more like abused) a divide and conquer technique and hit me from all sides. My ships won but were unable to stem the full assualt and I lost two planets. Then... Get this... After the tides turn guess who pages me... Commander of the Torians. Whats he want? He wants peace. I managed to bargain a peace deal where he gave me back both planets he conquered off me (ironically I originally conquered them off the Torians). The s

Well at the risk of inciting a flame war, I don't think my opinion is stupid. Not everyone has internet access readily available, and that is the main issue. Just because you do don't assume everyone does. Furthermore, I never said that Stardock sucked when it came to customer support and they don't. But I have never seen a game that needed so many updates and patches, eve

Just the fact that Stardock countinue to update their game is a good thing. It means they haven't given up on pleasing the players of the game. Its not like they are getting anything out of improving the game for us... They've already got my $70 Aus. Personally I think it's admirable and a refreshing change for a game producer to look after its customers so well. Stardock made a no-fuss CD and serial key system that doesn't make me fumble for the case every time I get an itch to play AN

The military strength calculations are majorly flawed. I was playing Terran engaged in a war with the Torian mid-game. They had many fleets, much outnumbering me. However I had a few giant ships (around about eight) that were tanked out at 30 damage, 30 defense and 40 hitpoints each. The Torians were fielding fleets that did about 4 damage per ship with no defense and 6 hitpoints. After about half a year (game time) of slamming the Torians (I wasn't keeping track but I took no casualties while t
