When it comes to ideology, I see something similar to Gauntlet's approach being best really - split the ideologies into 4 separate sub-groups (say diplo, social, military and economics) each of which mutually exclude with the same sub-group in other ideologies. So say you pick from the 'social' line of maleviolent, you lock out the bene and pragmatic 'social' lines - but not the other rows on those two ideologies. That'
The game almost never crashes anymore.. in fact I've not had a crash since probably 1.4. I suspect that some of the crashes are computer hardware related more than software and will never fully be fixed.
What settings are you playing on, I play on insane maps with 80+ AI, in-frequent crashes still happen, and there has been 1 50+ hour game since 1.61 that has been started and got to a point where the game
Truthfully, after all said and done, could ideologies be done differently, sure, is this was a huge issue. Unfortunately this is one thing that is more of an opinion issue and not a issue on if anything is actually working (for the most part). I would rather see fixes to the following prior to anything suggested here. Crash fixes (including unrecoverable crashes still present in 1.61) Multiplayer stability, lobby, and other general love (some things are be
1. How do you get the AI to do this as well? If the AI is not able to do this then it is broken or a "Gamey" mechanic.
The AI doesn't always pick, choose the same ideology path it will pick and choose as well, this is one thing that is not an AI exploit.
2. how does having the option to go down all three paths improve the game play? <br
All I am saying is that once an Ideological path is chosen the other paths should not be eligible for purchase in the ideology grid.
Why? Why would you limit this? In life normally one tends to lean one way or the other, however, there are times and situations that one may choose to go the other way. This should not be limited and should remain as is. If it was a little more expensive to cross back

Torian, Snathi, Altarian and Arcean Tech Trees.. (Those I checked for sure it appears all tech trees are effected.) The Nightmare Torpedo (The best of the missle weapons is about 5% of the research value as the previous tech). Torian Photon Torpedos (Research cost 2465) TorianPhotonTorpedos PhotonTorpedos 2465
Issue 1. Map Scaling I think that map scaling is something that needs to be implemented sooner rather than later. There are a lot of things that work well in bigger maps but not in smaller maps and even more that are brokenly over powered in huge maps. Examples... Ideology. The ideology system is in my opinion a neat part of the game that is currently VERY limited in actual implementation.&nbs
Seilore, Recently (1.6 or 1.61 I don't recall which) improved memory usage in a way that would be most noticeable on "extreme" maps. This improvement would only apply to newly created games. Other than that, we haven't done any W10 specific optimizations. EDIT: the memory fix was related to number of factions, not map size. So a medium map with lots of factions would see a benefit as well.<b
Last week I had changed my computer over from an HDD to an SDD and in the process I changed to Windows 10 (partially so I would get DX12 for Ashes). After I made the change I noticed that the memory Galactic Civilizations III used fell. In Windows 7 it usually reported anywhere from 8-11 GB of memory on Insane maps with 80+ AI. Now on Windows 10 it reports anywhere from 6-9 GB of memory playing the same game. Is this a way in which Windows is reporting the memory usage

This almost seems like it's happening every day. I hope whatever you guys are working on is something awesome and not something painful boring thing... :)
Thumbnails being pre-rendered to improve performance (and not being automatically invalidated if you pick different colors on your race) is a different matter.
I like the performance boost if that is what it does, just wish it wasn't thanks for the reply on that as well.
Do you have asteroids turned on?
Go ahead and explain how the product I purchased not working as advertised is money well spent.
Incorrect analogy with the radio btw. It's more like wanting to detail the car while in motion and saying that you can't do that, as far as the map pack. I'm not arguing that Mercenaries should be able to play offline, all I'm saying is give them a chance to fix it and make it offline. As for be
Colors always come from the race settings.
Incorrect, Base ships for game always show up in shipbuilder and icons as the base color of the faction who's ships they are. This is a known issue and annoying in the game that the icons both in the list and at the bottom of the screen do not match the ships on the map. :S Hopefully this will reflect correctly soon.
Does anyone know why the Maps DLC (or any other) requires being online and whether that is true if you bought it from GOG?
Stardock said this requires Steam being online for some reason or another. I'm not sure on the specifics, however, that is what was said in another post.
I kind of thought that Mercenaries 1.61 demanded a live connect
Mercenaries does not work offline. I wasted my 100 dollars being a founder. I get free expansions I can't use.
Relax, I'm sure this will be fixed and as far as wasting your money, you can still play most of the game offline.
I got more info. Ashes is hogging all the QA resources. So 1.7 has been submitted to QA but it hasn't passed QA yet.
What I see here is you need more QA, I'm in :P Let me know where to sign up lol... All that aside thanks for the update.
One way to verify this is, If the transports, colonizers is currently inside a planet + Shipdock + Starbase. That is the unloaded one. Disembarking them will cause them to request the load people. Those ones that aren't inside the above list = already loaded.
This doesn't solve the issue. The issue is at the beginning of the turn when you completed construction of a colony
I'll look into it. I thought it would have gone up today. I'm at Stardock Towson (Maryland) finishing Ashes of the Singularity. I'll find out where we're at.
Thanks for the update
