Sorry, we don't have any GC streams planned. We will probably get one for the actual release of 1.7, but we'll have more on that when that happens.
These are always great, too bad there isn't more of them and more interest :)
So it sounds like it will run under 8gb but performance will suffer? Just curious, when you guys run with 50+ factions are you using something like Gauntlet's Race Mod for variation?
Nope just use my 50 or so factions I created plus some other workshop factions that I've subscribed to. All my factions use the in game tool and are available on the workshop.

Dear Stardock, Thanks for upcoming patch 1.7 and great work so far. When are exploration treaties going to be looked at and the huge turn time delay they create especially with many AI in the game. This appears to not be a hot top, however, does happen and is a pain when using these treaties because of the turn time. Also at the same time then ship movement becomes lagging and jumping and not smooth as it appears every players FOW and map is updated real time. &nbs

Insane map with about 100 factions will use anywhere from 8-12 GB memory on top of any OS memory being used. Like Falkoner says if it fails it will fail right away. Other than that long turn times usually happens with exploration treaties so avoid them as with that many factions and exploration treaties with many can slow turn time down to 5+ minutes otherwise without exploration treaties most of my turns are less than 30 seconds.

This game is mouse happy with all buttons, left/right and middle. Even if you can get your touch pad to work for you, it's a pain. I recommend you pick up a mouse to play this game, a cheap one will do. :)
My machine does not have enough memory to play with that many opponents, Seilore, but I would like to confirm with you that this is a separate problem from the one where after you change status (for example, make an alliance treaty, or declare war) such that the position of the parties changes, you get a corrupted display until you exit and then re-enter the diplomacy window?
Yes, this is a separate issue, you can e
Whenever I try to open galactic civ 3 or any other steam game steam just opens up and tells me to log in. I can't open these games without being logged in to steam. But I speciically bought this game because it said you DIDNT need an internet connection to play it. How can I play the game without being on steam? I installed it to my computer. See picture below, however, this shows that the two planets right below mine both have 2 factions on them each. You can see the different icons, one behind the other. This has been in the game since pre-launch. I can include save game if needed and create ticket, however, it can be reproduced on any game that has enough factions to put the number known just over the limit of the diplomacy screen prior to it creating another ring. <img src="http://s9.postimg.org/9wfjm

I've noticed this too, mainly with Free Trade agreements. I don't see any boost as well, however, I keep forgetting to grab screenshots of this and saved games before and after. I'm past that point now so I'd have to start a new game for this info. Also it doesn't stack (so even if it is working no real reason to have more than 1 at any time.) This could be a reason than why the AI sees it as such a great thing because you are already getting it and
How are you exiting the game? Are you going back to the main menu, hitting Alt-F4, etc. What map settings/factions are you choosing? I am normally playing on Insane maps with as many players as I can with abundant settings on most items. (godlike ai in c
The program eating away tons and tons of RAM so as to make the whole PC unsresponsive for minutes.
How much memory does your computer have? Insane maps with 100 players will eat 12-13 GB memory. This is a 64 bit game which opens up the amount of memory it can use and it does.
Here is a link to Frogboy's Beginner's Strategy Guide for DL. The second screenshot clearly shows the custom race option (mesh-figure in the upper right corner). I also still have the manual of my retail copy of DL, and it mentions the ability to play as a custom race (not sure, if I'm allowed to scan the page in, so I could show it to you). The wiki-page for DL also mentions it (though wiki is generally not a trustworthy source)
To reproduce, do you need to actually need to "start new game" twice in a row or just go back to the menu and then reload or quickstart?
In order for me to reproduce I started up the game, Started new game. Played a few turns, went back to the main menu, Started New game (not through quick start although I don't know if that would cause it too.) Played 25 turns (I don't know if this really matters ho
No, they weren't. DA added the ability to play against custom factions, and provided more options to customise them. However, you could already play as a custom faction in DL. Just start up DL, if you don't want to believe me.
Brad will be able to answer this question once and for all, however, there is no documentation out there that the base game included custom factions and there is a whole lot of documentati
That's not true. The ability to create custom factions was in GalCiv 2 from the start.
Refresh your history, custom factions were added with the Dark Avatar Expansion. I think 3 sources are good enough see below.
