der-bettler, have you created support tickets on your issues? I suggest you do this via https://www.stardock.com/support/ . Beyond that that's awesome additional information on what others are seeing in MP games. I'm happy that we weren't the only players seeing the long loading times just to enter the lobby. Some of the more specific things with having a player hit turn only when players are in t

Well I finally was able to complete a 2 - Player Game against 2 AI and several minor races 18 hour game over several weeks. Overall it was a good game play experience, however, with that being said there are some things that still need to be worked out. I hope Stardock reviews this and fixes some of the larger issues (if not all) and takes some suggestions into consideration. I know there isn't a huge volume of players playing multiplayer but, some of that may have to do
The 1.61 is the opt-in that they've been working on to fix things. The VIP build is a old build still on there that's sticking for a reason.
You can add an additional reply to it.
Turn times can get very long so many folks don't play
I've asked for the introduction of a turn timer which may help with this, plus bring back the beep beep when it's your turn. Another suggestion would be to have a mini game of some sort to do while your waiting for your turn to come up but, that would be more involved.
I really like playing ranked multiplayer pvp (played a lot of games like LoL Smite Hearthstone CSGO etc.), so I was very disappointed to go on the multiplayer page multiple times, and find that it's totally barren! In fact I only found 1 game once, with 1 person in it.
Multiplayer is not dead, just most games take hours/days to play from beginning to end so therefore it takes a commitment to play a game from beginning to end. I have a few people that get
I've posted about this in the past. In my current game the Dread Lords event happened some time ago on the other side of the galaxy. I was happy about this because I was hoping they would continue to strengthen and become a huge threat later in the game for me. WAS I MISTAKEN. I currently looked where their space was growing and to my surprise the Drengin wiped them out. What good is the Dread Lords if the third ranked empire which is 1/8 my size is able to w
Thanks Stardock the opt-in 1.61 seems to have fixed the unrecoverable crashes that I have been experiencing. (At least the 3 most recent examples). I will let you know if I get anymore unrecoveralbe crashes. I updated that on my list... Thanks again.
Ban him, ban him, ban him now ; restore the quality level of forum postings i am expecting here.
I had to just because :) don't worry CW I feel the love.
Awesome FIRST!!! I win j/k
I know this was the pre-release name for 1.6, however, I thought this went down with the release of 1.6. Just because I opted in and had the game check files and it replaced 2 files, however, didn't notice any change with the exe file and version appeared the same. I then opted back out and had it check files again. I was just checking if this was the suggested 1.61 bug fix?
Patrick, your updates on my ticket are not getting to me, instead shows some sort of file too large for Microsoft Outlook error on the ticket. The last 3 updates from you are giving this error... Thanks.
Seemed like this only lasted for a certain point, It appears that once they got additional modules available then they upgraded them. So I'm not exactly sure when they all began to upgrade them or why they were letting them sit, however, it seemed somewhere between researching the second resource module and third.
I've noticed while playing the AI, that almost all of the resource star bases are not being upgraded. Many show the little upgrade icon on top of the star base but, the AI never adds the extra modules. This became very apparent when I took control of all star bases in my zone of influence and had multiple star bases in need of upgrades. Thanks.
included all of the features of the earlier versions, plus the new stuff? Sorry it's been so long, perhaps I'm wrong about that.
Twighlight of Arnor for Galciv2 did not include Dark Avatar nor did Galciv2 have any paid DLCs. After it was out for a while, similar to all games, they offered a bundled package with all expansions and base game.
I think the idea is that you're likely to be researching very slowly at first anyway, so that 10 techs is like 150 turns. This is donkey's years after the colony rush has ended on even up to huge maps.
First 10 techs I normally have researched 60-70 turns, and because the speed of ship production, a player may only have 7-8 planets at this stage, I would be happy if Age of War didn't start until turn 150
There are some great options here, I also wish there were more of on larger galaxies with more players but, maybe all in time... Or when Merc A is destroyed a new Merc is added to the list in it's place, maybe not the same but, another Merc of it's level....
I know we all have our own play style and Galactic Civilizations is great on allowing the player that option to play the way they want. After playing the game mod free now for 9 months after it was released this is what I have noticed. Playing on an Insane map with Abundant planets and very slow game pace and technology rate, the Age of War comes way too fast. Most of the time even with 60 AI on the map factions have entered the Age of War before the colony rush has ended.
We all thank you for this, I still wish this was built into the game and, who knows maybe eventually they will up their hard cap :) Even though I don't use mod's it's nice that you created this for others. Mainly because I enjoy playing games as intended even if I wish they were different... :P
Anyway, I've now started a thread in the mod forum where one can find this mod as an actual mod with a README (such as it is). And I'll be issuing all further updates in that thread and not this one. Link to the Moar Stars thread: https://forums.galciv3.com/475516/page/1/ Link to the latest version of the mod: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0By8Y969dyvLHLWI0T3lPVWV2QmM
And released in this thread: https://forums.galciv3.com/475516 So now we can stop talking about this here!
They're known anecdotally. However, every time the game crashes, for any reason, we get a report and the crash rates are extremely low overall. Obviously for people who are experiencing crashes, the sucks. The best we can do in those cases is work closely with them.
Thanks for addressing this, I am continuing to work with the support team on this, hopefully this can be figured out it the near future
In the dev stream, they mentioned many people are NOT finishing large map games... I haven't because I can't, game crashes and is unrecoverable and many tickets from me have been created on this... That could be part of the problem. Also seem to not know of any of the issues in multiplayer. I as well as other multiplayer, players have been vocal about this in forums and with bug reports why are these issues not known?
updated unhappy planet keeps the unhappy icon if you invade the planet while it's unhappy. This continues forever unless it's culture flipped by another culture. Also added point that planets wobble for no reason at all when they first appear on map or you change where on the map you are looking.
So I am unable to trade factions weapon technologies if they dislike me too much. I guess, however, if they initiate the trade three is no problem. I just had a faction who dislikes me a lot offer me a weapon tech (in red) and if I hovered over the tech it said that they are unwilling to trade it with me. I accepted the trade and have the tech.
