Yes. Economy starbases. Smart drones add a manufacturing and research bonus of 4% to your colonies within its area of effect. The reason it may not show is that it is an upgrade to 1) Starbase Factory 2)Advanced Starbase Factories. If you have not yet built these on an economy starbase by adding modules, the option will not appear, nor will later ones like Orbital Replicators, etc. It is similar to when you add modules for defense. You can add Starbase Defense Mark IV if you have not first built

I want a super teeny map. 1 star, 5 planets, 1 race each planet. I want the whole galaxy to be 1 sector. 1 anamoly. No resources. That would be... special.
Actually, I really like the pic where you lined up all your stuff. I am definitely going to try that, not sure if it will be as cool for ships as it was for your bases. In fact, I'll probably load up and try after I post this. This is not exactly what I had intended for my huge hulled Imperion warship, but it's as close as I have patience to get right now. The Imperion Zion class war titan: <img src="http://img172.imageshack.us/img
A minor, minor issue: In this game, everyone's colonization phase is nearly over, almost all realestate is taken. So, I go into constructor mode. I have like 75% of the maps resources and the AIs are now running to get the stuff furtherest away from me before my constructors get there. Okay, so I find a resource in a remote map-edge area. I can send newly made constructors from any of my 30 or 40 colonies except my home planet. I do not know why this is so. I have no problem sending home planet-
The Imperion freighter design that started the major themes in the warship design. Notice the nifty but pointless radar dish. I have no idea why I did that. I'm sure I saw someone else do it and wanted to try.
And here are the medium and large ships, the Imperion Gilead class cruiser and the Imperion Hebron class battleship. I have not finished a huge hull ship that I liked enough not to delete. And honestly, with the Drengin hulls, the fighters are the hardest to make, not the big stuff. Anyway, more ships with engines in the front: <img src="http://img244.imageshack.
Okay, now I'm going to post more. Alright, this is a good chunk of the Imperion line. I made Halcyon on Terran hulls. These are made on Drengin hulls. The first two ships are the Imperion Zealot heavy fighter and the Imperion Jericho class frigate. <img src="http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/60
Danielost: Ha! A mall. It looks awesome, it really does. But ummm... a mall??? And cynic2005: Nice. And that is an awesome color scheme you made. Copper and pewter or whatever you call it. Now I'm going to need to try to duplicate it in a game.
Thank you. As luck would have it, I found an autosave 1 turn before the issue and was able to reload from there (need to save more). But if it happens again, this will be helpful if I haven't saved in a while and don't want to redo dozens of turns, thanks again. <a href="https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/" title="Posted via St
By double-click on it, I am referring to the planet listed in the info box as a ship in that sector tile, not the actual planet itself on the main map, which always brings up the planetary screen. I thought maybe I should clarify in case someone misunderstood and tries to tell me that supposed to happen. You know how if double click on the ship or stacked ship image on the info bar (not the main map) and it brings up that detailed orders list with auto-this and auto-that, guard, etc? Well, the i
Okay, good, later I'll do that. I have an issue, I started a low number of players, abundant habitable planets game dropped to normal difficulty. Things were swell until I had a constructor build show up on start-of-turn summary. I go to my capitol planet and instead of the normal map view box showing ships in orbit on the bottom info bar, it reads like it would when you click on fleets. My planet is now apparently a ship (????) and 5 of my freighters are stacked and will not move (????) and the

Hi. My name is Joe Schmuck. Pleased to meet you all. If I may, I'd like to address the rumors of my uninteresting gameplay on the net. As I'm sure you're all aware, what with the media blitz and pundit pseudo-intellectual satirical expositions, some unscrupulous persons have started a hate campaign against me, accusing me of such unsubstantiated and alleged crimes such as the afforementioned "uninteresting" game play. I ask that you do not judge me by the color of my skins, the size of my hardwa
Double crap. That's not cool when you can't even really play. I was scared a little, too, because I haven't built a new comp for like 3 years, maybe 3 and 1/2. This one was groovy then, the 3 to 6 month envy of all my pals, but now? 3 years on a comp without major upgrades (I have only replaced the board and the cpu, even the video card is the Radeon 9800 which was the bomb back then, but now?) its like saying I mow the lawn the lawn with these awesome scissors I made while your neighbor screams
And here's a shot of the Halcyon colony ship, 3 shots of an alien but unnamded ship line, the first, a tiny fighter called the Kovlaas, and the other two of a medium hull cruiser called the Nehrsai, and lastly, why not, 2 shots of my Legoland-looking ship from my underwhelming Imperion series, as yet unnamed and not even really finished: <img src="http://img329.im
Okay, here's the biggest ship in the Halcyon Empire line: the Paragon.
Has anyone noticed the ridiculous pirate strength you get in a really long, long game, after you have every tech? I have to keep wiping them out because I'm the only civ that can make fleets of huge ships large enough to even hurt the guys. I'm talking they have a combined total attack of 900+ and total defense of 900+. So, I have to whip up mega fleets that do at least 1100+. It sucks, because the maintenance is horrible, no one else can stop them, and the pirates can wipe out a starbase fully
I should try mods. I haven't yet, everything I do is au naturale. But, I am running out of ideas, sort of sick of trying to make distinct styles from the same old parts. I have 3 lines of ships, I show the Halcyon line of stuff because I like it the most, looking all exotic and curvy. I have another line of ships that are also alien-looking while being vastly different from the Halcyon, very angular and cold(?), stuff that is decent and maybe I'll post that stuff some day. The third line I do, h
Ummm... it finally dawned on me that if I cropped pics I post, you might actually see something. You'd think I would've realized that earlier as most of the pics on here are cropped but I'm dumb so you'd be wrong. Here's a cropped Veritech where you can actually see what I used. I am very unhappy with the lower arms and mildly unhappy about the "knees" that seem to knock together or join. I am open to suggestion on how to make either more closely resemble a proper VT. I also added some cropped s
Okay, I saw the robot ship and thought, how hard could it be? So, I wanted to make a Robotech Veritech. It didn't turn out as cool as I imagined. And it's a lot tougher to make something like this than I thought it would be. You know, pieces pointing only in certain directions, waping, etc. Anyway, here's my attempt that occurred while I was actually playing. I got carried away, now I need to reload. Anyway, it does bare some resemblance to a Veritech: <img src="http://img154.imageshack.us/img15
Here's my base tiny and small Halcyon ship designs, the Valkyrie and Archangel: <img src="http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2237/arch
Okay, cool, it isn't just me. I was Good and the Arceans just bugged me every turn to trade a Neutral only tech for Total Majesty. I mean, like every single turn until I agreed. Then of course, I discovered it didn't show in my tree, had no new projects or wonders to build... I suspected it was a gimic, but I finally relented for the sake of curiosity. Always nice to give away free tech. <img src=
I have a possibly dumb question. I have a game, I'm Numero Uno, but because of 2 civilization surrenders, all of the sudden the Arceans are in a close second from a really far second place. That doesn't bother me, I lose freighter revenue with fewer races, but I still have a slight edge in Influence, about 50% more military than the #2 Arceans, commanding Technology and Population leads, and we're about even on Economy and Industry, in fact, I believe they are slightly ahead in in Economy.
Okay, I realized my problem posting images. This first one I call the Vindicator: This one I call the Warlord, part of my Halcyon empire strata of ship designs: <img src="http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/1597/warlor
Way too much. I have had the game for not even 2 weeks. I'm very happy with it, much better than GalCiv I, which always got ridiculous at a certain point. 2 is balanced much better and far more interesting. But I am already living and breathing this game like I did MOO3 and Oblivion. I know a lot of folks didn't care for MOO3, I love it. But you can't beat the ship designing on GalCiv2. Before I bought it, I looked at posts of new users and was a little afraid to get it. I beat the game my secon
