The only thing worse than what Chris Taylor has done to Total Annihilation Supreme Commander is the spiritual sequel to Total Annihilation: Kingdoms.

Too little too late, Impulse. Again. And Bethesda owns Fallout now, not Interplay. You can buy the 3 pack at Target for $15 around here. It even has the same graphic art as posted above. Paying more for a digital release? Really Stardock? Really? Also, no DRM on the disc, not even a disc check. I've been loosing faith in Impulse and Stardock continually since the release of Demigod.
Borderlands is a fun game, but is incredibly weak on the environment. It annoyed me to no end that unless I had an active quest for that specific item, or it was a barrel, then I couldn't do anything with it. There also isn't any bullet penetration to speak of, and I don't think there are any glass windows to shoot through either. The interface is also a horrid console port as well. Every menu reminded me that this wasn't intended to be a PC game. If you can get into the very-simplifi
I finally threw in the towel on Starcraft this week. As a single player game, it’s amazing. Game of the year as far as I’m concerned. It’s multiplayer design is phenomenal as well. It’s the single best game purchase I made in 2010.
What?!? Seriously? While I agree with your multiplayer statement, the above is as far from true as possible. I'll leave out the tirade of why I was monumentally disapp
Oblivion was fun for awhile, but was a huge step backwards from Morrowind imo. I'm hoping Skyrim will redeem TES to it's former glory, and not be a console-ified dumbed down shadow of it's potential.
I need this game. Only this game will make me happy.
I fear that this attitude will cause D3 to receive rave reviews and love just because it is the successor of a great game. If SC2 was exactly the same, but from a different company in a different world, it wouldn't be nearly as well liked. SC2 was such a huge disappointment for me that I'm not likely to purchase Diablo 3 despite still playing it's predecessor. The
My knowledge is a bit old, but from what I remember I'll try to help. I've made my own personal mods for this game and have delved into most of the xml files to make it more enjoyable for myself. Just take my answers with a grain of salt, because it's been awhile. 1) You can change the names of existing resources, and change the bonuses given I believe, but you can't add new ones. 2) Again, you can change the names of them, but not make them specifically for e
The only box office record he's likely to beat is "most pirated overpriced digital movie released to date." While SC2's visuals would make an interesting movie, it definitely didn't blow my mind. I found the walking animations particularly bad, and the facial animations weren't anywhere near movie level. Video-game movie level sure, but not professional animation level. Sadly, even at $2 a copy, I'm sure a million people will buy it and that's why the gaming industry ma
I liked the game at first. I expected the first few missions to be tutorial types, teaching me some gameplay element I was familiar with five years ago. But then those missions kept happening. The entire campaign was horribly disappointing compared to SC1's, but as stated, it's a MP game and like all other MP focused games, it's disappointing for me.
Awhile ago, there were several playable Star Trek betas released. You're only bet to play a ST mod anymore is to find someone who still has one of those. They needed some work to clean up the files, but with a little legwork you'd be able to finish up the basic and play until your heart is content. There was guy who took (well, stole is closer to the truth) all of the popular sci-mods and mashed them together as well. His links went to rapidshare I believe. &nbs
Well, honestly it really depends on what mods you want to run actually. I have over 2 dozen mods installed including some really big ones like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul and none of them require OBSE. Some of the other big ones I believe also don't require it like Mart's and Franco's. So while I think it's a shame that Goo prevents the use of OBSE (and now I understand why since OBSE actually modifies the exe) it's rea
Oblivion without OBSE isn't worth playing imo. It's like buying a Sunfire, when a brand new Corvette was across the street for the same price. Oblivion works in Vista, but it's easier if you don't install it under Program Files. But since you can't use OBSE with the impulse version, I HIGHLY recommend you buy it from another vendor. If you like the basics of Oblivion, you'll love Oblivion on OBSE. OBSE isn't just a mod, it expands the game to a de
It's three games because people will spend $150+ for the same game. The concept is brilliant, albeit low brow in my opinion. When Half Life Starcraft 2: Episode 2 comes out, people will flock and buy the Collector's Edition because they have the cash on hand. It's how the gaming Industry works now, and it makes me a sad bear. No one sat in a business meeting and said, "Look, we need to split this up into 3 games for quality ." Blizza
The designer did allow AoG to expand the cannon but where do we draw the line? .
I wouldn't draw a line before any official or supported and accepted B5 material. If it were a Star Wars Mod, and the Rebellion had the X-Wing and B-Wing, but the empire wasn't finished, I would want the Empire (and other races) fleshed out before the designers came back around to consider the A-Wing. Both AoG and Mongoose Publishing were said
I agree that if the Shadows or Vorlons were to bring their own forces to bear, capturing a ship mid-battle would be very out of character. They manipulated other races into fighting so that they didn't have to. They only showed their face when they were ready to move on their own. However, if they could build ships (to fill in any gaps in their lineup) it might make a bit of sense. ie The shadows using Centauri ships. I vaguely remember Centauri ships being controlled my shadow-tech, so there
I don't like the auto-updates. Sometimes the new patches suck, and usually they're late (sometimes very late) being released. I thought that could be turned off though? I also don't like having to look at adverts and popups for crap I don't care about if I just want to play a single player game. If I get nostalgic for reinstalling HL2 or something, half the time I don't install it because Steam is a hassle. Not a large one, but much more so than installing every other game that I own. <p
Doesn't sound like GC is the game for you. There is a definate strategy to the game, but not on the combat side. It's an X-Y-Z affair at it's heart and soul. If you can give up a nice interface, Hard AI (which can be adjusted with mods and game options), and modern graphics you can try Space Empires V. It's combat is more involved and it's a similar game.

This is why I responded to you the way i do. If someone disagrees with you, that does not make them irrational nor does it mean that they will be "laughed out of the court." We're not talking hype here or forum promice, we're talking about the legal documents attached to these licenses which are very lik
I love that most people here haven't play both games but are still giving advice. [e digicons]|-)[/e] The storyline isn't that great. It's novel at best and is entirely predictable. CS reveals some very small aspects of the SoC plot, but nothing important. SoC sets up a mildly entertaining story, and CS explains a loose and fluid origin to that story, if you will. What is amazing about these games is the atmosphere. Stalker is one of my favorite FPS game
I've had very few problems with Stardock or Impulse. And, to their credit, all have been solved. I've only bought boxed games from Impulse (where they send you the disc) that weren't available at retail, and have never bought a game on Steam though, and the chances of me ever doing as are slim. Their DRM bothers me to no end, as well as having to have logged into my Steam account to play Single Player games.... but lets not get started or I'll go on a 9 page tangent ending with a Death
