EE or CS Dear Lord! Acronyms! Being a SA in IT maintaining GW, IM, and SAV, you can't IMAGINE how much I hate them! Uh, what do they mean?

While there is nothing inherently wrong with "talking the talk", I do agree that too many do so without "walking the talk"' - a struggle that I fight every single day. Of course, with my past life as a construction worker, I have days where I find it difficult to even "talk the talk" properly, especially when driving through rush hour traffic. [/confession]
So many people want a carrier in this game. It was the same way in Stars!, back in its day. There was that die-hard group that thought it could not survive without carriers. The argument made was that it provided a strategic base for those one and two man "fighters" that are created during the early game. But in my little private world where I go during game play, there are no little one-man "fighters". Early "tiny" hulls, in my mind, are at least as large or larger than today's spa
And from me as well. Merry Christmas to all! The picture was great! If I had my name back, I could use my "real" face!
Why cheat? Just go back to playing at the lower levels instead. I've been playing with the rush buying of factories lately and it does seem to work better than when rush buying the ships. As Mystikmind points out, you will go broke. I am not adverse to rush buying one or two colony ships, however. But I'm still figuring the game out. I hain't got past normal too well just yet.
Mmm. Yeah. It's not bad. I only spend 2 to 6 hours a night playing it.
You got my curiosity up. So I did some searching, Googling if you will. Powindah means "one who travels on foot" in Pakistani, evidently. Read WWW Link for source.
It's the parrot that is stealing the smileys!
Just want to point out that the above link states that I do not have clearence to see what the problem is but that someone with admn rights are able to access the proper files. I just saw that exact error myself. I almost took a screenshot of it, but then decided I didn't want to fool with it. It kind of reminds me of the 500 Internal Server Error that o
Don't y'all get flustered at "nasty redneck" talk--I have a pseduo-pedagogical habit of using alternative names for conflicts I won't. Mostly on account of I don't have a clue as to what yer a talkin' 'bout! (talks to son) Ohh! Yer a teacher. That don't bother me none. Why, I looks on 'em as being almost like regular folk. <
Please, kyro, allow this thread to continue. Even with the nasty politics theme it's better than watching Entertainment Tonight or Survivors. I get a great satisfaction watching folks argue facts versus beliefs, as if by thinking it hard enough the red-hot poker won't burn. It's a humble request. And I've asked for so little.
Just turned 53. Like Mumble, I was indestructible as a young man, and I absolutely would NOT have listened to anyone telling me to be careful. Being careful is for old folks who have survived being indestructible. I am now a very careful old man. Well, maybe not THAT careful. After all, after you have stared Death in the eye multiple times a
This here thread was right funny after the OP's business got handled. Air you be Southron by birth, 'r air you be Southron by wishin'?
So, now it is proven that it is never hopeless. Life is good.
Can you explain to an old man how to upgrade from one hull type to another? I gave it a try recently and I don't see where that is a possibility. If it can be done, I sure would like to know how. Thanks.
Well, gaww-lee! That's just wonderful, Sarge, I mean Kyro.
Futurama -- News Futurama -- News Futurama -- News Futurama wins! Actually, I just have it on for background noise while I'm playing GalCiv. I never play game music. Ever. Except in Victoria. Unless the wife is home in which case she is watching HGTV. (snore) Anyway. Call 'em fuel cells, start the mixer and watch 'em flash!
My dad stood 5'6". He had that amazing "power of observation" as well. He never forgave me for shooting up to 6 foot my freshman year of high school.
No. I shaved this morning. On the weekends, however ...
Basically, there are people, and they all have both good and bad days. On my bad days, I try not to post. Chalk it up to experience. On my good days, I keep my posting to a minimum. Chalk it up to hiding my ignorance.
I am certain I would miss an important message and 10,000 people would be without power for hours In my case, it would be ~40,000+ workers of iniquity (govenment) who would be without email. Not necessarily a bad thing, but one I would not hear the end of for a couple of days. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smiles/Gasp.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't feel qualified to cast that first stone. I could so easily go OT on all of this, but I shall refrain. Suffice it to say I agree with a hearty "Amen".
Enemies strengthen you; allies weaken. -- Elrood IX (Dune: House Harkonnen)
Most importantly, does it suck you in as effectively, making you completely forget about time? Yes. I concur. It has that "just one more turn" quality that finds you sitting in front of the screen at 2:00
I've never felt the need to offer an alliance. What real benefit does it convey? It will insure that you are dragged into a war at the most inconvenient moment of the game, usually against the strongest AI in the game, while the good ally who did the dragging sits on his/her/its hands/tentacles/appendages during the entire war. Then, just as you are start
