Also having NEGITIVE cultural influence.. where people HATE you because you have a terror star nearby
Or at least produce a large negative hit on racial relations upon having one. We could call it "--Wonders WTF you plan on doing with that Terror Star".

It was an afterthought for me a bunch of rounds later after the tax was invoked. I saw my income and swore it was higher before, but I don't think there was a savegame from before the vote.

The only question I'm still pondering (as I haven't gotten much gameplay in since the holidays) is if the War Tax affects War Profiteering or not. If WP is bringing in a % of the races final income, then perhaps I won't want to have a War Tax, as that'll be less money for me...
Maybe +econ is due for a nerf, like the original planet quality bonus in GalCiv 1. I mean, it is fairly powerful. Of course, unlike PQ bonuses, econ and morale bonuses are scattered throughout the game.
I really think that if some set of abilities are a staple and picked up at their max for every game, something overpowering is there for them. An increase in cost for those abilities may be in order to make you sit back and think if it's still worth while, and wh

There is a post around here talking nothing but about the Drath's startup in TA now being an economical nightmare. When I played them, I tossed points into pop growth +25. I know it kind of defeats the purpose and flavor of the race, but if you think about it, that was 2-3 points that weren't placed in the typical places.... Out of the gates they are slow economically. Once you get the techs for War Profiting and you get wars rolling, your looking at about 1k a week in income that'll

Most cases I don't develop trade routes, and there are games I even have tech trading off to fully isolate myself and others. It can be done, it just really makes you watch your purse-strings.

Currently, Creative will randomly finish your current tech. Prior to this change, it was just giving a static amount of research points (not as good in end game). You'll get a message that Creativity has finished the tech.

I think someone had said the MCC seemed to be a decimal point issue. It makes flipping planets 3.0 times harder to flip, whereas it maybe should have been 0.3 times harder to flip. The Yor get a racial bonus of +100 Loyalty (impossible to reach with purchased points). So, if you had the MCC and it was a Yor planet...all the luck in the world to you.
Ermmmm, some events can be prevented by having good espionage on other AIs. what event or events do you have in mind? i'm not challenging you, i've just never observed a connection between espionage and events.
There is an event that states something along the lines that you made a gesture that, if you had known more about the race, you wouldn't have made it and you pissed them off. I think it's that one that goes off if you don'

...which after you figure in all the influence various planets have lost due to their manufacturing buildings, it doesn't seem AS bad. Agreed though, 100% may be a better alternative.
would think (hope?) that there would be some link between morale/approval rating on a planet and the likelihood of your people assassinating a visiting leader. So in other words I would hope my people, who love me so much, would never do such a thing!
They love you, but not perhaps the Dregin ambassador. I think these types of events are triggered more often when you have a race playing very passive. It's the best way to push them into the fighting ring and stop

I just wonder what the ramifications would be in the case that you have a entertainment center already qued to upgrade to...lets say a market, then you do the "all EC into drath temples". It would likely override the EC to market upgrade. Little things that could trip you up...

Ah ok, so the previous morale building the stock entertainment center. I think it may be an issue to the coding aspect to say "these 6 buildings are an upgrade to this building" as it may create an odd loop effect depending on what techs you have. For example, lets say you only have the stock entertainment center, then in one trade (not one visit to a race, but 1 click...so you stacked both techs into their side of the table) you pick up two buildings which have both been set as the upgrade fr
you doint like it change it.
And still play a Metaverse game? I think the Drath Healing Pools were an oops. As for the issue of auto-upgrading from the previous tech. Unless it's a perfect upgrade, it should be a choice. I'm not at my PC with it installed to check the stats of the two, but as you said it isn't a "logical technological progression from the earlier building". Bioshpere Modulator...build one, then get back to us on if you think it's a wa

Mega Events are meant to be...Mega. With hard work and focusing you can beat back those pirates...jut like the Peace Keepers and Dread Lords. If you let the the DL stew for a while and get dug in, you won't ever complain about pirates ever again. Pirates don't invade planets with uber troops and 3k attack on ships.

Starbases...quickly overpowered by fleets of ships. I rarely utilize them in a passive state. Depending on the situation I'll use Influence starbases. If I'm heavy into trade then I'll use econ starbases....but military starbases seem the least utilized by me. That's just my preference though, others may have better experiences. For border and empire defense, I'll use ships. That way, if they get damaged, I have them fall back to a planet for quicker repairing and move the ship off
