I didn't realise this about matching 3v2. That is the by far the worst idea I've heard in multiplayer matchmaking in the history of RTS games. I'm starting to wonder if the guy in charge of the multiplayer portion of DG has EVER played an RTS game. Pantheon basically doesn't work (which is mostly attributed to people leaving the queue on purpose in order to play as a premade... I find that extremely hard to believe
well i think its kinda crap to get uneven teams all the time.
well i think its kinda crap to have players disco when they don't like what they see all the time. Because then you pretty much guarantee those that remain and try to play end up with uneven games - and (just as bad) make those that remain wait even longer. If you keep this up, the players are going to screw it up all by themselves without any help from the matchmaking system.</p
These images have been around for quite a while.
Ok, that makes it worse. "Official" art, but no way to confirm/deny those are the next four DGs. Argh.
This isn't going to be 100% true in all cases, but what you're describing - crashing unless you limit the amount of memory in use, points to a memory defect. Whether the defect is in GPU texture memory or main system RAM depends on what that L4D setting is doing. I don't have the game, so I don't know. But if it's limiting texture memory, then it may be your video memory. If it's limiting the amount of system RAM used by the game to swap out between the faster (but usually

When I get into the game itself, I'll form a persona. Even when I did roleplaying in the past, when creating a new character I learned that I didn't do well forming up a detailed backstory - because events that develop in actual game-play can conflict with these 'past' events. So, I tend towards creating a concept/feel for a character. Then develop it as I go along. But I wanted to comment on: "Research - although I don't prefer to go for the "

The only part of that which might be considered pale white/grey is the Bloom effect used to represent bright sunlight reflecting off of his purplish head. Conversely, the color at and
I want basic issues - pathing for example - sorted out before this topic leads to some new, undiscovered method of implementing a superior cybernetic+dolphin hybrid that rules the world. Specifically, very specifically, the AI currently can't path itself on the Crucible map. All 3 times I've played the map single player, (normal AI) the computer lost without me having to do anything. The OpFor just never really get very far out of their litt
There is a potential advantage to being on the low side of a 3v2, and that is you'd be potentially gaining more XP within the same time span as the side with the larger number of players. Is it a perfect balance? Probably not and it can probably swing balance in either direction (because it would be situational. For example, is your one team mate getting all of the XP from kills, while you languish back at the base mimicking a road-side pylon?). Personally, I'd avoid strivin
The 'new' demigod concept I'd embrace is the ability to create pantheons that represent the gods of various cultures through history. Given my forum nick, my first choice would be a set of Aesir (old Norse) gods, such as Thor, Odin, Loki, etc. Given my alternate forum nick ("Vanir"), I'd be looking at Frey and Freya and others from the Vanir of old Norse Mythos doing battle with the Giants in Alfheim or on the flaming rainbow bridge of Asgard. Don't like Nor
Alt+TAB in DirectX isn't defined by Microsoft's DirectX API (at least not under DX9 and prior - I don't know about DX10). What this means is that developers and video card and driver manufacturers cannot know in advance how to handle what happens if a user task switches out from full-screen. If a game is running full-screen, and requires some sequence of events to complete once that sequence begins, it (the game, and the developers of the game) can't really know in advance if a user is
I'd drop the Assassin / General monikers (misnomers, imo) in favor of either a single list of DGs and/or moving towards a more clearly-defined holy trinity model of DGs: Damage output focused DGs (ex: Regulus) heal/buff/debuff support focused DGs (ex: Sedna) tank DGs (ex: The Rook) I think this helps teams that plan their make-up a bit more. Note that I don't suggest DGs get changed to become pigeon-holed into narrowly-defined ro

Several UI panels default to positions that cover up one another. Default size/position should be adjusted so that by default you don't hide one panel behind the other. The panel sizes and positions should be saved across sessions so that when/if yo do resize or move a given panel to a preferred location, you don't have to do it each gaming session. Anchor the panels so they cannot be partly dragged out of the viewport and make them dockable, such that they can be anchor
Inconsistent and incomplete (and therefore, inaccurate) information about port setup for this game turned a few minutes of configuration/setup/testing into a couple of hours of wondering what went wrong. I'd bet if you can fix this non-technical issue, you'd help a fair number of people. It definitely would have helped me. The issue: ..\Demigod\bin\ DemigodManual .pdf states ports 6100 to 6200 should be opened.
Off-topic ...sort of.. but someone near FrogBoy's desk needs to be saving those awesome in-game renders from these posts for inclusion as bonus content in the final release.
@disfarce, that sounds like the description of this problem reported here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/339261 There was a Stardock response, but I'm not clear what it was meant to indicate as a solution or change to multi-monitor system configuration.
Possibly an Impulse issue, but it occured after updating Fences to the current (as of now) version. Picked up the Fences update, and after downloading, Impulse prompts to reboot indicating it's necessary in order to complete the installation of the Fences update. I opt to 'restart now', and as impulse was closing and just before logoff, received an error. Event Viewer indicates mscorsvw, a component of .NET failed to initiatlize. AFAIK, Impulse was the only .NET app

I'd like to know the answer to this question as well. Personally, I'd prefer it to be the latter and not the former -- there've been too many strategy games where the general/admiral/etc. had an overly-large effect on a battle's outcome.
How important will leaders play in terms of outcome for specific battles? Are the devs envisioning leaders as epic tide-turners? Or will the bonus applied be worthwhile, but not necessarily the primary key to a successful battle?
how big a game world can we make? A subjective question, yes, but let me give some background. The OP mentions D&D, and that's a perfect point of reference. D&D Online was the MMORPG I'd wanted to make since I was a kid. But the implementation of the game is such that you leave a main city and bam! you're in a dungeon. The designers wanted to have friends play a complete adventure within a 2 hour (or so) game session. But that's too
4% is wonderful. It doesn't tell us what percent is supposed to be there, but it sounds so tiny that it makes it easy to disregard. But what if C02 is supposed to be only 2% of our atmosphere? Need to put the stat into context. Otherwise, it's worthless data , and not useful information .

But you can set the pagefile to whichever volume you wish in Control Panel under "System". On XP:
