So I got 3 games in at PAX, they had 3 demis for play (Torchbearer, Regulus, Rook.) and 6 machines, 3 network 'co-op' machines, 2 machines where you get one demigod on a team with the other two, and one where you could play on the lava map. The opponents were Queen of Thorns, Vampire Lord, and Unclean beast .(The generals units were oddly missing, they said they were mainily showing off the assassins.) Now I have a critical eye, I spent quite a bit of time at the stardock booth (but I

Oak is seperate confirmed by Frog boy at PAX. See my post I'm gunna put up soon.
Did you guys put in the [e digicons]:fox:[/e] just for Kitkun? [e digicons][/e]
With DotA, there is a problem that it's a mod, not a standalone game, so mod developers can't do such feature.
Actually its relatively simple, even using the GUI triggers. If the developers wanted DotA to have kicks they could do it in a blink of an eye.
There are 8: (That we know of) Generals: Sedna, Vampire Lord, Queen of Thorns, Oak. Assassins: Rook, Unclean Beast, Torch Bearer, Regulus.
... AGAIN!!! With the TF2 analogies! It has absolutely NO bearing on demigod, they are different genres, made by different companies, with different technical architectures, with different art styles, with different game play concepts (duh... THEY'RE COMPLETLY DIFFRENT GENRES!!!!), the only thing they have in common is it's a team based game (and completely different on the specifics), with pretty graphics!
And on the other point of uniqueness: "What if some one on the other team picks the aoe stun and we need one too?" Thats why if there are lot of demigods, there could be another aoe stun, or you could pick some one immune to it (flying?) or an assassin that can kill/disable him with out it being able to go off. Or magnataur, aoe stun that pulls them to geather with less cd then rootfelleon, shockwave, with cleave as an ability. Thats 3000 damage with spells alone to ev
But hey there are some wc3 based rts that do allow for custimization, whos to say that a mod maker dosn't create such a mod for demigod?
Yes this is perhaps the best factor of warcraft 3 there are thousands if not millions of diffrent mods one can play with out even ever hearing of their exsistence. In fact if warcraft 3 survives demigod, then this is going to be the reason why! (Also when I make my own alternate AoS style games through modding I want it to be able to be hosted with out issuess) As I plan to make my own entire AoS for demigod (like hosk/doe/aotz are to dota)
Yes but if demigods are not animated to do either of those thigs then thats a massive amount of work, also it changes basic movememt gameplay balence, and finally how do people with the click to move do those things?
Again I quote myself:
And how can you say anything based on the number of demigods? Do you have the number? Hell, do you have even an official estimate?

Generals can get items too though..
Did I ever say they couldn't?
Perhaps, since the way the game works by default anyways(i.e units face where they want to go and then move), left and right (A and D for you wasd crazies) turn, and forward (again W for the arrow impaired) do move forward. Back (or S for the people who don't understand symbols and words) wouldn't do anything as I don't see minitours running backward... maybe taping it does a 180 as quickly as possible?
Just devils advocate here, I agree with you for the most part on this one but:
the General will probably start with soem troops at the very begining of the game. It would only make sense.
Do assassins start with items then? (as you seem to love TF2 analogies:) Do engineers start with buildings?
Yes taking turns picking, not decrease the number and then pick, and RANDOM draft is what you describe first, the normal draft method is taking turns picking. And how can you say anything based on the number of demigods? Do you have the number? Hell, do you have even an official estimate?
How you deal with the people on the forums speculating and asking for things like journals. (And as a downside to being first to pick the other player would know who he's up against) the same would work for team games. It could even be a coinflip, with the winner choosing first or second pick. That system woul
Well those are abilities that are also combat helpful for a combat oriented assassin, but an assassin with all support abilities can be effective too. I mean look at the hero ability combos I posted not their individual abilities. As in if those were the only 8 skills that demigod had: (heal that does damage and later through a different skill upgraded to a chain heal that does damage, faster respawn with less effects w/ shorter time magic reduction buff (two seperate skills i

For once I have to agree with innociv here, an <span id="gtbmisp_1" sty
You play with very different people than I do, my friends have pushed at level 7 beofre, and I have been pushed against at level 10 in a pub.
peer2peer games can have mods.
Where did I say anything to the opposite effect? I said they were more difficult in peer to peer, as everyone needs them, not just the server. (though in the case of warcraft 3 you can download it that's an exception not a rule) Again my only point is TF2 is a horrible analogy to demigod, so what if the class mod is server side. It's still a horrible analogy. And the way you worded:
Also, to Odit when you play non-easymode y
You have to learn faster than the other guy that's the point of being competitive, by having unique heroes there's a little push to learn faster, competitive, by definition is "to strive to outdo another" if your not doing that your very competitive. If you don't want a competitive game go play custom, learn how to play with no pressure, then go back and be competitive.
