I'd kinda like to see the breakdown.

Please, no pompons. You'll put somebody's eye out. I haven't been active much, but projects at work are at an end. I'm eager to seriously start delving into TA. I'm on vacation next week and going up to a friend's cottage. No internet access; how barbaric. So nothing from me next week, but I might finish the game I'm on right now before Monday. Dionysus.

You learn something new every day. I didn't know you didn't get the reputation hit if it's a one way treaty. One thing though, if you're play TA, it seems the AI will not part with either treaties until about half way through year 1, or about 75 turns. They usually say it's too early or you haven't proved yourself yet.
Sorry to see you go SB. Take care.
Having a real problem with suicidal TA using the Krynn. Seems they don't like my huge influence, and gang up on me. Have to try a different tactic.
9 AI with Slow tech trading! Thank frak tech trading is on....

I love the round settings. I think Twilight may actually be worth a shot here. Thanks Silver!
I hear there my be a hot fix this week for the research bug, so I might try it with TA. That bug got me in the bonus round. That's why it took me 5yrs on tough to complete. For anyone that doesn't know, this bug causes a dramatic increase in the cost of all research periodically. Lik
Don't know if this helps or not. I've played 3 sandbox games and experienced this bug in all 3. However, I've played 2 of the tourney games and am almost finished a 3rd. In the tourney games I have not experienced this bug. Has anyone, to their knowledge, had this bug occur in a tourney game? If not, that might be something to get us through until this bug is fixed. For the record, I don't think the game is unplayable. Frustrating in that it's hard to develop strategies with this bug in
OK. Bladerunners it is. Looking forward to the next round. Greetings to the new players. Hope you have fun. Good luck everyone.
So far there are 4 tourney games. They are only available in TA. They are static scenarios. I'm currently in 1st for Arcea's Last Stand. In that one you play the Arceans. They are stuck in the middle of a huge asteroid field (at least 25) on a medium map. Your opponents are the Drengin and the Yor. The victory type is Ascension, though I won it via conquest. Great fun. Quite a bit different than a sandbox game. And, Lord Arkham, I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Dionysus. Welcome
I noticed that one as well, but wasn't going to mention it. I didn't want it to go away. That kind of thinking is the reason some exploits take a long time until they get fixed. If something is a bug, it should be fixed, especially if it's exploitable like this one. Unfixed exploits screw up the metaverse and (in this case) the racial balance.
I have reported the multiple buy bug and got acknowledgment that it is indeed a bug. I'm assuming it will be addressed. [li
aren't the Tourneys only for a limited time? or I am completely wrong on thatI do seem to remember at least that the scores are lower for Tourney Games on average
I'm not sure about the limited time thing. I have 4 tourney games available in TA. I've played the Altarian one and it posted fine to MV. Not sure it counted for the empire though. I'm in the middle of the Arcean one now. I'll track it closely when I post it. I'm sure the tourney games will score lower
you can start a MV game at any time that will count toward the Empire score- its only with the Tournament Games that there are stipulations
I didn't know that. What's the stipulations?
I'm in.
Oh man, couple this with being able to do multiple buys on the same planet from the civ manager screen, and depending on how much money to have, you can get that 72PQ planet in 1 turn.
I was really looking forward to TA. Downloaded it the day it came out and tried a few games. I've had this happen in all 3 of the games I've played. This expansion really isn't ready for prime time. I have only one suggestion. Go back to DA until TA is a playable product. Not much of a solution, but for me it eases the frustration. Sometimes it hurts being 'bleeding edge'. BTW, in all those 3 games, at some point (and I don't know why) the research cost returned to 'normal'. Can't be su
I've had this happen. It happens when a ship is waiting for a user response. Sometimes it's hard to find the ship that is waiting. Normally I just press 'G' or space to end the ship's movement, and the turn continues.
I never seen one on a tiny or small map. Medium and above I see them all the time.
Good to hear, SB. I've submitted 2 TA games. My 1st TA suicidal yesterday, was MVL Bonus round compliant. Took 5 years and it was only 8120, but I have to say, TA is a blast. Almost like a new game. Took the Krynn, natch, and all 9 opponents were at war constantly. It really was a crazy game. I just tried to stay out of the way and flip any planets in my zone. Great fun. Even a tech win felt like a big accomplishment.
I concur. Kudos.
My submission. My 1st TA suicidal. Not a great score, but loads of fun.
The problem is that tech victory for the Twilight Altarians is at the end of the Dark Energy tech branch rather than the research tech branch, which means the total number of research points required is much higher. Additionally, they've lost their econ and morale bonuses, and upkeep costs are higher, and starting funds are lower, so money is going to be a lot tighter too. I love Twilight, I just don't think it's a good fit for this round. In other circumstances, the Twilight Altarians
Tried to edit this but can't. Meant to add ToA 1.91.021.
In the colony management screen you can buy more than 1 planetary improvement in a single turn. You can't if you're on the planetary management screen. Seems like a bug to me.
11,020, 1 year, Suicidal, Beyond Mortality, DA 1.80g time stamp 5/5/2008 11:54:54 on JustinSane5. Not the best game, but the quickest submission time, so good for 2 bonus points at least. I don't think Twilight is favorable for tech victory personally .
Dude! You are just insane! Good work. You may be right about TA. It'll be just my 2nd game, so I very little experience with it, but the Altarians look pretty sweet.
