So how is the serial code thing gonna work with the retail version of DA?? in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

I just wanted to know, because I have DreadLords already and understand you have to buy the gold edition to get DA. Which is fine, I was just curious as to how the serial codes will work. Will I have to make a new stardock account? Will DL and DA be playable right away in the retail version (no update required?)? Or will I have to update the Gold edition Dreadlords to play Dark avatar? Thanks in advance, and anything else worth noting pertaining to this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why does Dark Avatar have to be online-only... in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

I'm not getting it if it is. That is so disappointing. I'd rather walk into a store, pay CASH, and walk back home with the case and all. I hate using credit cards... hell I don't even have a credit card. I hope they allow Dark Avatar to be sold in retail soon, I was saving money up for it.

Okay, Stardock central isn't responding either. I've got it installed, but when I try to log in, it locks up and says the page is not responding. Any recommendations? Sorry for all the questions... and thank you, I appreciate the help.

Yeah actually, I do have a firewall. I have thought that was the problem before, but what I don't understand is that when I activate the activation screen locks up and is "not responding". Now about the stardock central, how does that work? Like installation, activation, etc. Thank, for the reply. Also.. can I play Dark Avatar without the 1.4 update? And does it use the same system requirements as Dread Lords? Thanks again.

Okay. I own galactic civilizations Dread Lords. However I am able to obtain the 1.4 update for some reason (computer freezes everytime I try to activate and stardock hasn't helped me out at all...I've even sent an email to support). Anyways, will I be able to install Dark Avatar without the 1.4 update? Also, does Dark Avatar contain the same computer requuirements as Dread Lords? Thanks in advance. I really want to get Dark Avatar (and that damn 1.4 update!!).

Won't let me patch.... please read. in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Okay. I downloaded the patch for GalCiv2. My serial number is working. After I installed it, I booted up the game. A screen comes up asking for my Email and serial number. I input the information... then i click "activate". Well... nothing happens. I sat there for 5 mins. I tried to click out but the screen was "Not responding". I tried it again 3 times, the same thing happened everytime. I had to reinstall the whole game because it wouldn't let me play the game without activating it, which as y
