He shall glorify me for he shall receive of mine and shall show it to you. All things that the Father has are mine; therefore said I that he shall take of mine and show it to you." -Jesus- John 16:13-15 My guide is the HS and what Christ told us to lean on. No

Just a side note: Did you notice I have since this article done two more on this book of Revelation? Yes, I'm really anxious to read both of them. I really appreciate and enjoy your work even though I pick at them from time to time.
KFC POSTS: Lula, no disrespect but really how come you turn everything into the Eucharist? It does't say any such thing there. This has nothing to do with that. Read the context. This has to do with an offering made TO GOD. KFC, no disrespect taken and no disrespect back to you. Eventually, as you continue to read Holy Scripture and seek truth, you will see that it's really all about the Holy Eucharist for that's what Christ gave us, Hims
SEANCONNERS WRITES: There are also passages in the Gospels that Jesus tells his followers that the end of the World and the 2nd coming will happen in their lifetime, not 100's or 1000's of years from then. 1) Jesus falsely prophesies DIRECTLY to the high priest (Caiphas) that he would live to see his second coming. Jesus uses the term “coming on the clouds of heaven”. This clearly negates the “coming” as the resurrection but as a return to the earth on CLOUDS, not
LULA POSTS: The OT prophecy of Malachais1:11 was fulfilled by the Priests of the New Covenant. KFC POSTS: How so? First, Malachais, whose name signifies "The Angel of the Lord" was contemporary with Nehemias. Some say he is the same person as Esdras. Malachais was the last of the prophets, and lived about 400 years before Christ. The book of Malachais has only 4 chapters. In them, he foretells the coming of Christ, the reprob
KFC POSTS: Yes, We are all called to be priests as in the definition I originally put down. But we are NOT all called to function in the role of Priest/Pastor/Deacon/ etc. There is not even a hint of hierachy in the new church of believers. Christ condemned the Pharisees for putting themselves in those lofty positions and lording over instead of serving the people. Even the HP in the OT had a function to represent the people of Israel. In no way was he conside
ModeratemanMay 7, 2007 11:07:16Reply #62 I just want you guys to know I have been reading and being educated by the comments left here. I have nothing to add, so I have remained silent."better to be thought a fool than to be a fool" Thank you, MM, for saying this. It's good to know. I'm the type of person who likes to bring the debate or discussion to the point of agreement or if deadlocked: of agreeing to disagree. The problem is sometime
KFC POSTS: I don't believe the 70 weeks are fulfilled. I believe that 69 are with the 70th week of Daniel suspended until the coming tribulation. I believe the 7 year trib which is about to come will be the start of the 70th week. The abomination of desolation that Christ spoke of in Matt 24:15 has to do with the Anti Christ declaring himself as God sitting in the yet unbuilt temple, and HE pointed to Daniel's prophecy. So obviously this hasn't happened yet.
KFC POSTS: The 70th week of Daniel is still future. The first 69 weeks have happened. There is a lull (church age) that we are in right now. The 70th week is the beginning of the tribulation period (time of Jacob's trouble...Day of the Lord) and has not happened yet. This is when God will turn back to the Jews and this will happen predicted by Zechariah in the OT: "In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jer
MASONM POSTS: "In the holy scriptures you can make no progress unless you have a guide to show you the way .. Yes, MasonM, St.Jerome says it just like it is. I agree with him and try to follow his plain talking advice as best I can. That's why I read the Douay Rheims BIble as it is the most accurate translation of St.Jerome's Latin Vulgate Bible which in turn is an accurate word for word translation from the original languages. I do not rel
KFC POSTS: Now those positions you mentioned have different functions but ARE NOT separate from the body. The Apostle John in Rev 1 even called himself a fellow brother or companion. We are all called to do diff functions with the gifts HE has enabled us with. Peter also called himself a fellow shepherd when he addressed the other Pastors. As for the deacons they are chosen by the congregation as per Acts 6:1-5. They also have God given abilities rec
LULAPILGRIM POSTS: Priests are called, chosen out, separated from the laity. PS.64:5, "Blessed is he whom Thou hast chosen and taken to thee." "Paul, called to be an apostle, separated unto the Gospel of God." Rom 1:1. "Show [which] of these two thou hast chosen to take the place of this ministry and apostleship". Acts 1:24-25. Also Paul was called to be an Apostle. Correct. This is not the same as a Priest. The same with Acts 1:24-25...Matthias was chosen by

KFC POSTS: How can these events be all fulfilled? Have you read this book? Look at 12:1 and 2 for instance...it says: "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of thy people (Jews) and there shall be a time of trouble which as never was since there was a nation even to that same time and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written the book." When did this happen Lula? 70AD? What about the Holo
LULAPILGRIM POSTS: What Daniel did not predict and is still in the future is the Second Advent of Christ when He will come again to judge all mankind, the living and the dead. Even from a historical understanding, Daniel’s overall message has been fulfilled. Namely, that God’s spiritual kingdom was established when the Messiah was born during the ancient Roman Empire. Daniel's 70 weeks ended in 67 to 70 AD, by which time the blessings bestowed on Christ’s Church were evident in the wor
LULAPILGRIM POSTS: The sign of the Cross is “the sign of the Son of man in heaven” alluded to in V. 30. I first saw this reference as a Douay Rheims footnote. Here’s the full verse. “then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds with power and great glory;" KFC POSTS: your key word here is "alluded." This is CC dogma, not scriptural....just to set the record straight. <b

LULAPILGRIM POSTS: The sign of His return to earth will be a Cross in the sky. KFC POSTS: Where is your reference for this? I will briefly outline my understanding of what is covered in StMatt 24 because Jesus' discourse in the Garden of Olives with His disciples ties in very closely to many of the passages in the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse) particularly the ones having to do with the coming of the new age (the eschato
Sodaiho, So the practice of Zen Buddhism is all about working the mind, escapism mind games is what I'd call it. And this brings the Zen practicioner boundless joy you say. Boundless joy, wow, that is some description. Is it a boundless joy that comes and goes or is it long-lasting?
SODAIHO POSTS: The author of Daniel had no idea at all that there would be a EU. I've always thought the author of Daniel was Daniel himself. He was so renowned for his wisdom and knowledge that it became a proverb among the Babylonians , “as wise as Daniel”, Ezekiel 28:3. Ezekiel 14 mentions his holiness. Evidently he’s not commonly numbered by the Hebrews among the Prophets, but if we consider his many clear predictions of things to come, we shall find
LULA POSTS: Individual Christians are no more Priests than every Israelite was a Priest. KFC WRITES: They also which pierced Him" is speaking of the Nation Israel. Now, at this point, of his return they will turn to Him as a Nation and God will pour out His Grace on his chosen Nation Israel. The Prophet Zechariah spoke of this coming day when he said this: "And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for
Our practice, true religious practice, moves us deeply past the constructed reality of these five aggregates and to the reality that resides beneath them. I'm just trying to dig deeper and understand what you say. What is the reality that resides beneath the one that we construct on another level by the acts of seeing, hearing, smelling tasting, touching, and thinking?[quote] All religious practice will get
Monday morning push for hopes of more talking about this subject. thank you so much for your well thought out and well explained stance on this issue. you are a terrific writer, how come I do not know of you? Mahayana Buddhism (the so-called Greater Vehicle), of which zen is a part, suggests that there is no "nirvana" to "get. Nirvana and samsara are two sides of the same coin. So, our practice is to manifest our True Nature here and now. So, from what you've said so far about Zen, I can only conclude that "manifesting your True Nature here and now" is tantamount to turning (or even denying)reality (or truth for that matter) into illusion having form. <b
