My PC is also doomed by 24H2. I am really p++++d off by the cavalry way MS treats its customers. I am unable to afford a new computer so will be doomed to stay forever with Win 10 Pro.

It happens only occasionally when I shut down Windows 10. But not in Windows 11. It;s not really a nuisance as the shut down proceeds normally.

Strange "Powershell Unable To Start" Error @ W10 Shutdown + MS Blames Start 11 (v1.47) in Start Menu Products Stardock Forums

For a while now I've been getting periodically a strange and very brief "Powershell.exe Unable To Start" error popup only for a moment whenever I shut down Windows 10 Pro. I've run Autoruns and and I know I am not running it. or Command Prompt either. I'm using Start11 because I dual boot with Windows 11 Pro. I am fully updated 22H2. Any ideas?

I am pretty sure that I recently ordered and downloaded the 5-machine version of Start 11 but it doesn't appear on my personal account pages. Sp I may have used a different login which I don't seem to be able to find. Can you help please? Let me know if you need any other details.

Hi, I have a spare W10 Enterprise license and was thinking of testing it in a separate partition, or even simply changing my product key in one of my W10 Pro setups and doing it that way, but going back may be complicated, so will probably go with the former idea.

I heard it will be invisible until one hovers over it and there certainly wont be any Win 7 style Start Menu. Let's wait and see what happens.,

I hear rumours galore about Microsoft bringing back the Start button in 8.1, but as for the Start Menu, the jury seems to be out on that one so far. I also heard a rumour that Microsoft have disabled a rival product StartIsBack in leaked builds. You guys probably know more than I do regarding this and are well-prepared for all eventualities but any comments would be appreciated.

BTW I tried that MSFN hack and although I am sure the guy inventing it means well, it isn't very clear how one implements it and what adjustments have to be made. I tried it and immediately got a black screen which wasn't going away, so thankfully System Restore saved the day. Sorry but it all seems far too complicated for me. I would far rather rely on legitimate software such as that which Stardock produces.

I see someone over at MSFN Forums is trying to develop a hack for it with rather mixed success thus far. It's a shame Microsoft took such a hard line approach to this OS. Thanks anyway.
