Thanks. I'll try the game in tactical mode and see how that works. And for the other jerk-o, I'm not high, just looking for fun instead of frustration. The web site is too graphically busy for my taste, too.
I've had the gold edition for a month and have yet to enjoy a game. I played the hell out of Space Empires III, but hated SE IV. Did I make a bad choice here? The most important customization I made was to change to the default mouse cursor. My system has plenty of speed and graphics capability, but I see no need for high-end graphics in a strat game. I disabled everything graphical I could find, but the interface still makes me angry. Every window works differently and there's always some
