If you have tried my "Living Blue Wallpaper" and "Turbulence" in MPEG2 format and had trouble, could you please try again. I have re-encoded using TMPGEnc to hopefully fix compatibility issues. Please let me know if still are having issues with the dreams. I'm going on the assumption that it will work and I'm in the process of re-uploading all of the MPEG2 versions I already did and will update the description saying that it's been re-encoded. Should be done tomorrow. Thanks

00Nuke, Thanks for your feedback. What I dislike about standard HD resolutions (16:9) is they don't match computer LCD resolutions (8:5). a 1920x1080 needs to be stretched taller to 1920x1200 or scaled bigger to 2134x1200. Same with 1280x720, it doesn't scale evenly into 1440x900 LCD monitors. While some of my dreams are abstract and can be stretched to fill the screen, some others aren't meant to be stretched. My recent MPEG2 creations seem to be giving people issu

Thanks NGTV, Perhaps the way to go is to post low-res versions, and providing the hi-res versions in my gallery. What MPEG encoder are you using? My MPEG2 encoder will not let me encode above 1080, so I'm stuck using WMV for now. The reason I was going to use MPEG2 for the low-res versions was to boost performance even more and still have smaller video sizes.

I think the MPEG2 videos are working, and the WMV are the ones that are giving you problems. Try this, Goto this folder: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData Under this folder you will find folders with the WMV and MPEG2 movies extracted from the .dream files. Find the Apollo v.2 folder and then the Apollo.wmv inside it. Right-Click on it pick "Select as Desktop Background". How does it look?

Well I got my new 24" monitor that does 1920x1200 so I'm going to start doing my dreams in that resolution. I realize that my current 1600x1200 dreams already tax lots of machines, so I'm thinking about pulling double duty by posting both a hi-res and low-res versions of my dreams. I'm thinking about doing a 1920x1200@30fps in WMV format and a 1152x720@24fps using MPEG2. The low-res MPEG2 version would only be availiable in my gallery as I don't want to fill up the public dream list

There should be an arrow that shows the updates? The only other thing I can suggest is to try something like "Your Uninstaller", a trial version can be DLed here (Not sure if it's vista ready?): Your Uninstaller

volcan, When you look under 'program and features-installed updates", did you try and double-click the header called "Microsoft Windows", or you can also use the tiny up/down arrows all the way on the right side of the window at the end of the thin line. Hope this makes the updates show for you so you can uninstall it.

What a joke.... "cutting edge" and it can't handle more than one frackin monitor. Most people call it "cutting edge" because it’s the latest thing, but some people call it “cutting edge” because it's enters first. When you use a knife, it’s the cutting edge that gets the glory when it cuts and the abuse when it hits something hard.

vSkyler, I agree completely with your statements. I really have no problem with them denying my Orbit dream because it looks too much like Desktop Earth. I understand where they are coming from. My only complaint was that they accepted a version of my earth dream, then, mistakenly set the creation date to the 4th oldest submitted dream causing it to drop to the bottom of the “Newest Dreams” list. In fact, it’s still there, doomed to obscurity because people coming to look for new dreams won

I think the point that Austinknight is making is that other than the earth being in the center of the screen, Desktop Earth is very different from his video loop (and mine for that matter). Desktop Earth does so much more (as Zoomba has already specified) and that is what makes it much better and worth paying for. Videos of the earth spinning are repetitive and if people want something more than a 40 second loop, they can buy Desktop Earth. What's wrong with having a poor mans version of the

Just tried to upload some new dreams, and I am now unable to do so. I have tried both upload and upload2 and both give me the "This program cannot display the webpage" error message (The standard IE error when IE times out). Also, I no longer get the popup telling me how my upload is progressing, it just sits there uploading when I hit submit. I know it tries to upload because I can see the upload activity in my network monitor. It just never reports success or failure, only the above messag

You business model makes complete sense to me. But, I’m not out to bankrupt Stardock and shutdown this site. I just happened to finish my dream at the same time you finished yours. And believe me; I didn’t get the idea from Desktop Earth. I’m a sci-fi fan, so it’s very natural for me to want to make a space related theme. It’s even easier with free source material from NASA to work with. And since I haven’t seen Desktop Earth in action, I can’t compare them. What I can say is that my 1st

No hard feelings pjdark, it's easy to start ranting and raving on message boards (I started this one), and without a verbal tone, it's easy to come across with a negative tone. I just needed to make a complaint, and I believe if I where talking to them face to face (or on the phone), it would have come across much better. The typed message is a terrible way to communicate. Anyway, all is solved.
