Music. I play clarinet in a concert band and tenor sax in a jazz band. It's mostly a matter of trying to trim out the wrong notes (or in jazz, making the wrong notes sound like you intended to do that all along - bulls**t in Bflat).

Feline - I can't remember the last time I viewed this board through IE. SB doesn't (at least not that I've seen) go to the last message in a thread. I see your point here. By personal icons, I'm not talking about the ones that Doreen, Chinagirl and Boxxi have. Those are pretty cool. But if you go to the Winamp boards (a thing I avoid almost as religiously as the marathon), you got all kinds of "dancing coffee cups" and the like. Big damn cups at that. That's the kind of thing I'd

About the only thing I would get excited about is being able to view a thread from the last message read. That is, if I'm following a thread (not the marathon - I don't have the nerve to go there), I would like to jump straight to the last message I've read in that thread. Personally, I find personal icons distracting at best and often annoying, especially the active ones. Other than that, have at it. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=91

I'm not a smoker and never have been. That said, I'm not particularly bothered by cigarette smoke although I know it is a problem for some like Kinrik. For others it's just a religious crusade. Smoking indoors has been banned where I work. Not too uncommon I don't think. So smokers have taken to gathering outside the doors to the buildings. It can get cold in Canada so they want to indulge, yet stay warm. Problem is, they block the doors so you can't get in or out without being ru

Some incredibly bright people here! So many thoughts, it's hard to keep it all straight but here goes. I agree with BakerStreet's original post for the most part. WinAmp and WMP don't need the space. Granted the low level of downloads make it a minor issue but perhaps here there could be simply a link to refer to other sites? I do agree with Boxxi et al as regards removing the wallpaper section - too important. Yeah there are lots of places to get walls but not of th

Like Phar0e, I live in western Canada (Calgary Alberta). Trust us - the novelty wears thin really fast. Fortunately we get chinooks here, probably not so where you live Phar0e. When we left for holidays on August 1st, it was snowing. That's summer dammit!

From a user perspective, one app would seem to make it easier to use while the more the skinner has to do, the harder it will be to learn. I kind of like BakerStreet's suggestion of modules. It might look something like WinStyles? While we all know (or should) that there can be difficulties with Beta software and incompatibilities, it seems likely that the more complicated the app, the more likely problems are going to occur. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.as

Thanks T-Man, that cleared the cookies. FWIW, to click and apply the Winstyles theme still gives the CursorX error but dowload first, then apply works fine. Thanks for all the time and effort you put in. I know this is free time and we appreciate the work! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" bord

I agree with JM - put a faq link on the left hand panel. Fuzzy is right as well, I think most of the people that ask some of these truly lame questions won't be bothered to check the faq. But (and I see this as the key value and main point) with the faq we only need suggest they click the faq link and find out for themselves. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" A

Well there it is. Downloaded and installed fine at home so it ain't Wincustomize at fault. Probably cookies. I bet I spend more time on WC than on regular internet anymore. Takes a lot of time to read all those "Stardock is evil because they are forcing me to spend money" threads. <img src="http://images.stardock.co

I think a "Please read the FAQ" would save a whole bunch of threads like the "Bullsh*t" and "I can't download nuthin'" ones. Not that we won't get them but a quick RTF reply beats a whole bunch of discussion. Should save some bandwith.

Pretty quick for me. I do get the occasional download problem. CursorX is causing a problem with the 2 newest Winstyles (Glass and Saber). I've had similar problems before but they usually straighten out the next day. I can't recall if I cleared cookies first. Is it safe to clear the downloaded files list in SkinBrowser? I've got rather a lot there but I don't want to delete if it will screw up the skin on my machine. If that works ok, a block delete would be handy. <

Perhaps when Malikai grows up and actually gets a job, he might understand that nothing is free. The rational for the subcription has been spelled out so clearly that any idiot can understand it. I have never had problems accessing the site - the value of a Wincustomize subscribtion is undeniable. Can't afford it? Too bad but that ain't my concern nor anyone elses here. Contrary to what you believe, the world owes you absolutely nothing. I'm with Wombat -- pull! <

Something about how to post/thread to this discussion list? Perhaps especially things along the lines of "why ain't it free" will be met with scorn and derision. With only a little more seriousess, How do I update/upgrade/view my level? What are the advantages of becoming a subscriber? and the ever present chatter re the moderation process. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0
