Molten: Removed and upload to WinCustomize.com as Stardock Design
That would be ok if it was available for download but it's not. I can understand not including it in the latest release but it should not have been deleted from my system without my approval.
FutureWorld
I believe he meant my "Future Earth" dream. That dream is fairly large so it will take a little time for it to load. Now if it locks up that's another thing. The only reason I could think that it would lock up is a mgep2 codec conflict. Since you have Ultimate installed it should run fine with the codec it came with. Have you installed any programs that installed a MPEG2 codec, perhaps a DVD player program or Nero?
geez...cant even reformat the drive from XP...Vista uses a different version of ntfs.
 Bad Vista Karma. ;) It knows you've talked shit about it. ;) Now you have little choice but to do a clean install of Vista. ;)

Try booting into safe mode and restore it to a time that it ran OK. Then roll back your Video drivers to the ones in December and install DirectX 9. I also had trouble installing WB from Impulse. My problem was WB want's a reboot every time Windows loads. It will not run at all. I uninstalled in SDC & reintalled from SDC and it works fine. Not sure that this tidbit of info helps you but knowing it couldn't hurt.

Also, Turn off UAC. At least until you get everything installed. Then you can turn it on, run Tweak Vista and change the promt elivation. Personaly, I hate UAC so I turn it off and leave it that way. Good concept...sucks in it's current state.

I suggest NVIDIA's version 169 drivers from December 2007. Their newer drivers are borked on 3 systems of mine, all with 8800GTS cards. Please give Vista another shot, for your loyal fan base. Also, download & install DirectX 9...Vista does not come with it installed.
And I forgot to mention - I spoke to an admin and asked if they could help us by letting our stuff bypass the moderati n process. They haven't replied yet...
That's one of the perks of having the rank of journeyman or better. That amount of trust has to be earned, which is a very good thing.

PO...I would have to go with # 4 also. That's a good deal. Personally, I've had good luck with Tiger Direct but try to stay away from rebates with them. They will try thier best not to fulfill them everytime. As for hard drives, you can always add an external drive like the My Book drives from Western Digital after you fill up the 500 gig that the system comes with. I bought a 1 terabyte drive last week for less than $200.00. Also, save the old PC and give it to the kids after you r
Impulse is our preffered platform. That's what we've "commited" to. But we continue to support SDC for those who insist on continuing to use it for now.
This being the case, I figured that Impulse would be the best way to perform this update. Once I updated through Impulse and re-booted, WindowBlinds popped up and said I needed to re-boot when it loaded. After the third re-boot, I decided to try SDC. The only way for me to fix this was to open SDC, uninstall WB and reinstall thro

The second dream is posted and in the gallery. :CONGRAT: RickJP...since you posted the LogonVista, why don't you post one of AV's original wall and one with the confetti added. I was going to but since you did the first one I would prefer you recieved the credit for posting all of them. You can use the preview picture from my dream for the confetti one if you would like. :)

Here's the link to [link="http://www.fraps.com/"]fraps[/link] and here's a link to a freeware mpeg encoder, [link="http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html"]Super[/link].

You can capture the intro with a program called "fraps". The capture will be in avi format so you will have to convert it to mpeg or wmv. You can use Windows movie maker to convert to wmv for free or buy an encoder to convert to mpeg. As for permission, if your creating it for personal use you should be ok. If your going to upload it to WinCustomize, keep it to 15 seconds or less and it will fall under the fair use rule. Here's a post that will point you to more information for dre
