There is more than 1 version of DeskScapes. There is a preview edition that allows you to run the included Dreams only. There is a free version for Vista Ultimate users which is version 1.02 that allows you to run all Dreams as long as you have Microsoft Dreamscene installed. There is also DeskScapes 2.0 which is the retail version. The free version (1.02) for Vista Ultimate users seems to be no longer available from DeskScapes [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/desk

Is this Jani King by chance? If so...tell them to quit cleaning my LCD monitor with a wet rag.;)

There are easier ways to do this but to keep it simple you need to move them to the Stardock directory in your documents directory. When downloading them, choose to save them to your C:\user directory\documents\stardock\dreams\

Wizard1956...it's a bit complicated. Your using the registered version that works with all versions of Vista so you do not need Aero or Dreamscenes for DeskScapes to run. derson69 is running Vista Ultimate with the free version of DeskScapes (1.02) and it requiers Aero for Dreamscenes and DeskScapes to run. Since siten0308 is getting the "desktop window manager" is not running error, I have to assume that thier configuration is "Vista Ultimate & the free version of DeskScapes

This is how to turn on Windows Aero, which has to be running to use Deskscapes. Right click on your desktop and choose personalize. Click on the first choice in the list, "Windows Color and Apperance". Click on "open classic apperance properties for more color options". In the window that opens, choose "Windows Aero" Click OK You should be able to run DreamScene and DeskScapes now. If the choice to turn on Windows Aero is not there, your video card is not ra

What version of Windows Vista are you using and what are some of the Dreams that are giving you trouble? Most Dreams are created from mpeg2 video files and need a codec to decode them. Windows Ultimate and Home Premium come with this support built in, the others do not. If this is the case, you can download a free codec from [link="http://www.free-codecs.com/download/VirtualDub-MPEG2.htm"]here[/link]. VirtualDub is a smal

nostradamus93, It sounds like you have remnants of the preview still installed and it must be removed prior to installing version 1.02. Version 1.02 is currently the only free version that will work for Vista Ultimate. Following these steps should fix your problem. Uninstall deskscapes. After uninstalling deskscapes, manually delete the "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Deskscapes" directory and the "C:\Program Files\stardock\object desktop\deskscapes" directory if the uninstall pro

All dreams are supposed to suspend when you open a window full screen. This is the way the program is designed since it make no sense for it to run when its not viewable. It should restart when you go back to the desktop though. Since its not restarting, there is a problem. I'm not sure if it is your configuration or something with the dream. Due to size constraints and the desire to include the sound, I had to go with a WMV file for this one. I am not sure if this has something to do

I got up and read the old home page at WinCustomize this morning...WOW, I am one of Zoomba's weekend picks, cool. Next stop, the Gallery to see what's new...WOW, I'm listed as the #4 Top Skinners, way cool. To top all this off, I just uploaded my 100th Dream. What a great day it's been...and to think, It's only Monday. It sure has started out to be a great week. Thanks everyone for downloading! :CONGRAT: :

dot45, Judging by your profile, I assume that you have not purchased the retail version of DeskScapes. If this is the case version 2.0 will not work for you and you must use 1.02. Following these steps should fix your problem. Uninstall deskscapes. After uninstalling deskscapes, manually delete the "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Deskscapes" directory and the "C:\Program Files\stardock\object desktop\deskscapes" directory if the uninstall process didn't delete them. Reboot.<br
Everything's working great and I even got a bit of a bump in upload speed from 3-4mbs to around 5 mbs
Wow, that’s fast. I just upgraded to Road Runner Turbo and in my area they only offer 1mbs up and 8mbs down. I'm jealous.

Do you have cable TV with your internet provider also? If so, have they been running the Emergency Broadcast Test lately? If the answer is yes, your cable company is broadcasting the test on the channel that your Road Runner is on (I believe channel 66 in my area). The test will screw with your modem and kill your internet.
And what exactly am I supposed to change?
You just need to change the fact that you care what they think. Why do you care what they think of you? Life is too short to let a strangers words or opinion bother you. Nimbin, I thought a faggot was a cigarette on your side of the pond. :NOTSURE:
