There isn't a personal machine alive that has (or would ever need in a million years) 400 gigs of RAM
Remember you said this in 10 years. I remember saying something similar when I got my first IDE hard drive. There was no way I would ever be able to fill up a 450 MB drive.
create a shortcut widget that runs at start
right click desktop > new > shortcut = browse to the exe
That will work but it's easier to... right click on the shortcut in your start menu, click send to, click desktop(create shortcut) Or...right click on the shortcut in your start menu, click copy, right click on the desktop, click paste

I'm not sure if it is still available but when it was first released, it was just the sunrise version. I would email Stardock support and ask if you can still get that version. If you do email, give them a while to respond. I read that they had email issues that was just fixed so they have a back log of mail.
Thanks guys...just wanted to make sure that I wasn't causing problems with others in the community. I have been creating these for the past year and one of my New Years resolutions was to become more involved so I decided it was time to share.
Po...I fear that your drive is on it's way out. How long before it goes is anyone's guess, it could be 6 months, could be a year. It sounds to me like it hit on 16 bad sectors and marked them as unuseable. This is a sign that more will follow.
The user account I am using is not a full-blown admin
That may be your problem.
What constitutes as flooding when it comes to submissions to the galleries? I ask because for the past couple of months I have upload a little over 50 Dreams which equals about one every day or so. Last night it dawned on me that this may be over doing it. On the one hand, since DeskScapes pending release is right around the corner I would think a large collection of Dreams to choose from would be welcome. On the other, I don't want to post so many that it intimidates or deters others
Is there much of a difference between Home Premium and Ultimate to merit upgrading?
If the only thing you are looking for is Dreamscene, no it's not worth it. You would be much better off buying Object Desktop. DeskScapes, Tweak Vista, and WindowBlinds justify the cost alone and they are just part of what Object Desktop has to offer. If you are considering purchasing, you need to do it soon to take advantage of the free upgrade to Object Desktop Ultimate when the 2008 ver
That one is easy to get. :) All you have to do is have 1001 downloads of the skins you post. All of the uploads that you post count toward that number. If you posted 10 bootskins or wall papers and they were downloaded 100 times each, you would get the award on the next time someone downloaded one. I believe you have to have created a home page to get it.
You can do a fresh install of vista from an upgrade dvd. Do a search on google for "Get Vista upgrade" and look for a article by Brian Livingston. It is supposed to be legal to do it but I don't think WinCustomize would approve of me posting the directions here.
This is a well known issue and as I understand, Stardock is working on it. There was a work around for RC SP1. I'm not sure if it works for the final of SP1 though. The work around assumes you have disabled UAC so turn UAC back on and try DesktopX. If it works you can install Tweak Vista and set it to not prompt you for UAC elevation.
I know nothing of your error nor do I know if this will help but it may be a good time to try Impulse.
Have you tried running msconfig while in safe mode? Have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier time? Perhaps you have a restore point prior to the trouble you are experiencing.
https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=233&libid=34)
Awww, too bad DesktopX thingies no workie with Vista SP1. ;p
Where's IR Brainiac? Time to start on Vista versions of your stuff. ;) I for one would like to see Knot Vista for Vista.
Your looking at this from a one sided point of view. Just because one country is in a recession doesn’t mean that they all are. The question you should be asking is how many of your customers are in the US. If it is a high percentage, than you are going to feel an impact when money tightens up. PC customization is a disposable income type of market. As long as people have extra money in their pockets to spend, you should be OK. If gas and other essentials continue to rise in price whil
Actually, Vista runs perfectly fine on 2 gigs.
Now that the final of SP1 has been released to the public, has any of you installed it and does DesktopX work?
Is this the final or a beta?
I agree, that is one nice skin Stardock Design created. Zoomba...don't know if you overlooked them but there were some matching Dream releases also.
darn... double post
