After googling " Debug Message: Danger Will Robinson, no Stars!!!!" I found a post on the impulse forums. http://forums.impulsedriven.com/409404 Reply #6 by Kryo has a registry key modification that looks to be labled language fix. I downloaded it and ran it agreeing to whatever mayhem it wanted to inflict. I ran the game and it looks to have fixed the crash. Thank you Kryo... where ever you are.

That line does look awfully suspicious. Gave it a try, but looks like changing the galaxy size and number of stars has no affect on the problem.
So I have a fresh install of about everything, Windows 7 Home (64bit) just got reinstalled via bootcamp and I patched on the latest Radeon driver from April of this year (2012.) I'm loading the game from the GameStop (was Impulse, was SD central) app. The game starts fine, I see the splash screens, intro movie, main menu and creation screen. My problem starts when I hit the button to get the galaxy created. I get dumped back out to the desktop with the Windows dialogue that says... <
Hi, I'm getting a problem with the transparency in Window Blinds 5. After I drag a window to a new location on the screen I'm getting a flash of pink when I release the window and it gets redrawn in its new location. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and knows if this will be fixed anytime soon. I'm using WinXP SP2 on my Toshiba Protege M200 Laptop/Tablet. (oh and on a side note, anyone know why the enter button isn't doing a carriage return in this forum tab)
How do I deactivate hotspots once I've chosen them, currently I have 2 tabbed docks and both are opening for each bottom corner of the screen. (They both open REALLY SLOW at the same time) but thats not the point, I want to remove the hotspots off the tabs so only one corner effects each tabbed dock. Thanks Chris
and diamond minimap as options then go for it since there seem to be a few people here that prefer the new one. So just to reiterate again, please don't abandon the square minimap since it is clean, functional, and works. Thanks
I found a quick work around for my problem. As long as the window is maximized the editor behaves wonderfully. As soon as its "windowized" again its starts chugging. Since I like working with it maximized its not that big of a problem.
Before updating the map editor worked smoothly and would only start eating up my resources when I created a gigantic map. Now that I have updated GCAP to 1.51 my map editor is using 99 percent of my CPU whenever I have the Map Editor window activated, even if there is no map loaded. This causes the framerate to be about 5 FPS in Windows. My computer is a Toshiba Portege M200: 1.6 GHz CPU 512 MB of RAM Geforce FX 5200Go 64M
I just wanted to say how happy I am that I do not need a keyboard to play one of my favorite games. I've had it loaded on my Tablet PC for the last couple of month and I've experienced no problem interfacing with the GUI using just the screen and my pen. :D
I'm playing a game in a gigantic galaxy with tight clusters with version 1.03a. Its set at a relatively easy difficulty level. Now that I'm getting above 90% in a cultural victory I'm getting a crash that shuts down the fullscreen version of the game right to the desktop. Happens right after I press the turn button or right after the game loads.
