I figure the test tourney would be a good place to trial out our connections and see how it goes
agreed - I'll sign up tonight. we should pm this crap instead of spamming forums.
Yes I would however I assume the same problems would arise that I had last time round - generally lag for EU ppl, and time of day for US ppl. And most of the time a combination of the two. I just wanted to check it out.
LO - I understand where you are coming from I just get the feeling you want every single dg to be equally powerful at every stage of the game - this is a bad idea and not why dg is a good game. Anyways...
Not seeing how giving the agreed weakest DG a Pen variant is rediculous. Whats more is that you really can't use Strike as your opening move since it puts you right next to the enemy DG who will likely curb stomp you.
Its pretty much suicide for
Anyone that wants to use the system will need to make an account and just add yourself to a clan or club I'm going to create (I'll call it something including the word DG, etc - no clan pacov )
whats the site addy?
There is a huge difference between an Erebus Batswarming into you from barely out of Fog, then biting and Mass Charming and then being ganked by his slower teammates compared to a DA swapping you from barely out of Fog into enemy towers and instantly chained stunned by his slower teammates.
This is completely true and I think he gets what I mean. Imagine being swapped into gold flag towers at level 5 with oak and whoever else waiting - instant death. I'm not sure if a
Always. Especially late game when base speeds are so high and most have treads. The extra range is a must imo. If you want to increase the range further i wouldn't mind but it is kind of ridiculous if you are getting swapped out of the fog (not sure what the range of fog is to block sight). If you want to increase the range of swap 1 to level 3 I would hate to be a rook (or any dg really) early game getting swapped into the range of the gold flag towers whilst holding a lane on cata (especial
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Don't change swap. It's fine and there is no better feeling than swapping a shield-porting oak for a gank.
HAH, that's why I said my play was nothing too great but MCP item build is what I wanted to show.
no our sed...
meh useless sed...
Whilst I think discussion and generation of new ideas is good for the game I don't see this one as being beneficial. Of the problems dg has this one isn't high on the list or even a real problem imo. I mean if players can't decide on decent dg choices/counters for a game then that's an insight into game sense more than anything (and it isn't an issue for noobs really). Certainly it shouldn't have to be decided by the game/code. For sc2 players this would be like saying
I expect that we will have several small tournaments in the near future. Some will be 3v3. Some will be 2v2.
I agree with this. Maybe have a run through asap without prize money first to get it running smoothly and sort out any unforeseen problems with the new (kira's) system? You can probably learn more just by having a go rather than too much discussion, seeing what is wrong and then fixing it for the next round. I would also play without prize money...
hey Neilo, Yeah I am from aus and there is also phary and drew around at the moment. Most of the aus/nz ppl that were playing when i started have moved on however. I wasn't able to play in the previous tourney as although I get a great ping to NA, a lot of northern EU and RUS receives a ping >350 so it can be problematic, especially in high level games. UK is fine ~250-300ms for me. Anyway pm me when you log on if you want a game - maybe we can
Why do you think this has anything to do with stardock, or am I missing something? It seems more likely that your system has been comprimised and now you are having trouble with anything online.
wow thanks for all the info and taking the time to explain. The ability to "move" software arrays is a big plus I had no idea about as I thought they were all non-transferable.
it just tells your CPU to do it... the same CPU that would do it if you were using a software raid. So it just adds overhead.
ok sort of makes sense. If the fake-RAID directs the cpu to do the work, which is the same as the software RAID then how does this add overhead? Presumably the software RAID has to run residently under your OS which would take up both RAM and load the cpu. Whereas the "fake" RAID does what in its place? Sur
I keep everything else on another drive and perform weekly backups to an external.
ok well that's vigilant... Out of interest re my previous post I assume SSD's have better fail rates than traditional mechanical drives. Is this correct?
Ok I didnt know that as I always thought h/w was faster than s/w. However, i was actually referring to hard drive fails as you are twice as likely to lose your data in raid0.
pacov make sure you are keeping non-essential data on the RAID0 or mirroring it on to a slower array. I have lost 3 RAID0 arrays with good quality drives (well not the best but most recent was seagate). Not sure what the kill rate of SSD's are as I still don't think they are worth the cash except for a single OS drive. Most modern MB's can handle RAID5 or something with redundancy. Anyway my point is the time I have ever saved with a personal use RAID0 has been blown in lost data and fecking
Actually there are quite a lot of new players around at the moment (relatively speaking) at peak times (US and RUS/EU). But you are correct the community is very small. On the other hand dg is an extremely addictive game for some, and is hands down impressive in terms of graphics, and so is well worth the few dollars imo even if it isn't patched again....
Contact and they will sort it out.
PS: Also, how is it doggu is such a constructive-thinking and considerate guy on the forums, while all I hear from him in-game is: "QoT, shield me already, ffs!!!/Sedna, where's your heal, ffs!!!"
A qot without shield = a sed without heal = an oak without shield = an ub with beastial wrath. All are teh unwin. [e digicons][/e]
Besides the Oaks spirit rushing the citadel bit, is there any other skills that would be disqualification worthy?
Not that I know of (apart from dg combo restrictions) but there is a separate thread dedicated to rules etc for the tourney.. best to check that out.
