My Voodoo 5500 works fine. No desire to change just yet. The only niggle with it is having to run UT in ME 'cos it wont run in XP.

I can see this is one subject where 'opinions' are so divided a satisfactory conclusion is unlikely. Suffice to say I shall continue to rate skins in my own way. I will not rate any skin 1 - if I don't download a skin I don't rate it, and I don't download skins if I don't like the look of them, so the question is academic. But it does make you wonder on what basis someone is rating skins so low; do they rate without downloading, or do they download all per se. Perhaps the people involv
The download count says a lot, but of popularity rather than skill or artistry. Not quite the same thing. How many skillful but unknown artists fail in their aspirations due to the 'opinions' of a small minority? Is a famous artists work of greater quality simply because it hangs on more walls? Perhaps the rating system is misunderstood. each to their own...

Showing concern over abberrant voting is not being paranoid. Who has the right to put down someone else's work because of personal opinion? I wouldn't presume to give any work a rating of 1, no matter how much I disliked it. I prefer not to vote. That is my choice. If I find a piece of work I consider excellent, I am not afraid to give a high mark. But to give a low mark to someone who has put in a lot of work, well, my conscience would not allow that to happen. Perhaps the sentiments e

Mine doesn't crash, but when I click on a message it takes ages to load if at all. When I click there's a brief surge of network activity, then nothing. Go to www.astrosurf.com/avl/UK_index.html where there's a nifty little program called Virtual Moon Atlas. Its a moon map, with zoom in and named features. It also shows you the moon's phase in real time. Best of all. it's free!
Is there any one person you know who could answer all questions on all areas? I think not. Having someone in the community submit a FAQ sounds like a good idea, but in practise it would need a commitee. Perhaps volunteers for each specialist area?
