Makes sense, however I'm not sure you could call a 2D image a "model."And while I understand you're sticking in the past by using the word "pixel" instead of "poly," it doesn't make it correct.I'm just pretty picky, and I felt that this thread was proliferated by noobs who wanted to keep saying pixel.- PR-0927
Who the hell cares? Stop being a nitpicking schmuck.

Too Dumb to kNow :P
It's also possible that the Vasari experiment is gradually destroying the entire universe, shifting matter into another dimension or something similar to what happened in Xenosaga. A rift of nothingness expands from the initial Vasari station in all directions, so it looks like they're being chased, and anything coming into contact with this void space would be damaged and driven insane. Of course this'd mean that eventually the TEC and Advent would be forced to flee too, which woul
~15 Stock MarketsThen guard it with your life because it will win the game for you. This has always (since before computers were invented) been a curiosity to me. So I, as a happy little dictator, tax my poor citizens (read Slaves) at 60 or 70 % to sustain my empire. On top of that, I have Financial institutions on my planets. So I am drawing an accumulative 12% per institution income above and beyond that tax rate. If I do my math (12*15) or 180% on top of the already crippling 70 %??
The OP clearly has no concept of how ultra-freaking hard it is to implement multiplayer modes in games that were never designed for it. It reminds me of the numerous attempts to mod Morrowind into a psuedo-MMO, all of which ended in catastrophic failure. Even when the developers themselves try to add it to an existing game it doesn't end well, take the multiplayer version of Civilization, CivNET. It was clunky and nigh-useless. It wasn't until Civilization IV that the series had viable m
Meh I downloaded it months ago. :P Then again that was before Stardock started agreeing with publishers to discriminate against non-Americans.
I imagine it's because they were designed first; the Advent who look sleek and wonderful in both in universe and graphics terms were designed last for instance. The Kol looks properly detailed while being clunky and worn as it should be, because it too was designed later, replacing an earlier design. Will they update the others? I hope so. I agree that the Marza in particlar is a horrible monstrosity. I purposefully do not build those ghastly things when playing TEC because they loo
Anyone remember what happened to the Androsynth in Star Control 2? Nightmare *something* from another dimension, that drives them insane and can appear no matter where they hide. I'd go with that. .. and then their planets get taken over by weird fish men who get all *frumple*
i know this was kinda used in homeworld cataclysm but lets go with the stereotypical thing. the vasari created some sort of organic ship or life or A.I. or something that was considered top secret(therefore not even some high ranking military officials knew of it let alone the public)and it got out of control started takingevery planet it could find liek a cancer and is simply wiping out all other organic life in the universe and the vasari since it was top secret are running away from it
Well for some reason retyping the entire serial number manually made Impulse recognise it as valid. Weird.
So today I bought Rainslick: Precipice of Darkness on Impulse, my order was processed etc. etc. and it's on my games list, but when I try to install it I get that message. Serial number not recognized only serial numbers provided by Stardock are valid (who provided this one then? The tooth fairy?). I've tried manually re-entering the serial number and get the same message, had a confirmation of the number sent by email and it's the same number.. so what's up? Frankly I'm not impressed
I'm not sure, I bought Reboot outside of Impulse with tokens then started Impulse up and both the icons for Reboot and Complete were there. Maybe being gifted it has messed it up somehow for you. :/
I suspect that in their rush to copy Steam they forgot that Impulse needs to, you know, actually work. I too had big problems downloading Reboot (yes I, another unworthy non-American found a way) and in fact couldn't get it to download properly until I downloaded SR2 Complete instead.
It checks ip address and the billing country. Spoofing an ip will of course not work, since that will prevent a reply from coming to your computer. Using a proxy, however, will.
If you happen to have tokens then a proxy is all you need...
That some things might be out of Stardock's control is irrelevant. They handled the situation badly. When they posted that the expansion is upcoming, they should have clarified that it will only be available in the US. Either then or now, they should have explained the situation and apologized for it.Most importantly - I purchased SR2 on the understanding that I will also be entitled to purchase the expansion when it becomes available. Since this is clearly not the case, the transaction i
It probably has to do with the way publishers like to construct captive markets (with region protection, regional lockouts, etc.) and Europe is always the least respected and most ill treated captive market of the bunch. Up till now, Stardock wasn't part of this farce. It's a shame this has changed. Well I just have this to say guys: THIS IS HOW PIRACY STARTS. That's not a threat, I loathe video game piracy. But you're not doing yourselves any favours by punching loyal consumers
The people with the rights to distribute the expansion in the US may not be the same people with the rights to distribute the expansion in the UK. In other words, Cinemaware (the US folks) were ok with digital distribution of the expansion, but 1C (the UK folks) were not. Stardock can't make them be ok with it, so it's not Stardock's fault. Just a guess, though..
So they're witholding the rights to a game they won't release? I don't buy it. I think if Stardoc
okay what the hell, I've been looking forward to this expansion for months and now I find I can't buy it because I'm in the UK? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PULLING, STARDOCK? Christ, I thought you were different (and better) than the likes of Steam and Direct2drive and now I find you're exactly the same kind of money-mongering trash. Thanks, really.
Also, is it just me or is every minor race that spawns during the game called Vegans? I once had a game where 6 different minor races appeared. All called Vegans.
A solar flare would not be any more of a danger to a dyson sphere/ringworld built by an advanced civilisation than it'd be to a planet. The real impracticality lies in the fact that any civilisation with the technology and resources needed to build such things wouldn't need to.
Thanks to this thread, I've just found my next custom opponent! Wait, why would Canadians want anyone else's beer?
Okay, first of all UFO: Afterlight is *not* any sort of sequel to XCom. The XCom games were UFO: Enemy Unknown (also called XCom: UFO Defense), XCom: Terror from the Deep and XCom: Apocalypse. All are great and you should check them out if you can find them. Afterlight comes from it's own series, UFO: Aftermath, UFO: Aftershock and UFO: Afterlight. They have nothing to do with XCom, though they are styled after it. As for Afterlight itself.. it's a decent game, and does
Yeah this definitely needs some tweaking. Like an invasion fleet, or something like the weakest civ in the galaxy in an act of desperation activates a Precursor device that's actually a dimensional whatsit that replaces all of their planet populations and ships with Dread Lords!
The Arceans may have invented the means to build a hyperdrive, but they didn't use it now, did they? Terrans did that. It's like the ancient Greeks inventing the steam engine. Okay, fine. Too bad it was the Victorians who exploited it, without whom there'd be no industrial age. So my point about dirty smelly inferior aliens stands. The mere fact that these aliens had stargates for thousands of years and didn't do jack with it proves their inferiority! Humanity #1! Hail Terra! Fa
Well I don't mind Canada taking over. But if you even try to make me work in the dreaded maple mines you'll have a revolution on your hands, Canucks!
