ya know SGT, I want to agree with you, I really do, but the whole purpose of making a new operating system is increased ease of use, and greater reliability. When Vista hit the states, practically no hardware support was ready for it (the machines in my shop that had all ran like lightning on XP Pro, now were running in 256 color mode, since there were no drivers for our video cards), the coding was so off that trying to install existing versions of McAfee or Office crashed the OS, and

Gotta agree with y'all here... installed Vista on my work computer, then looked for a program to kill the shortcut arrow on the desktop shortcuts. BIG MISTAKE, stupid app crashed the OS, and I gotta watch the system yo-yo b/w powering off and the loading screen for about 5 minutes. Had to pop-in ERD commander, kill the reg keys & delete the files, then re-install the program, so I could uninstall (to delete any hidden files...). Vista Is Something Terribly Asinine</
